SoundHound Music Search

This is simply the best music identification app. I've been using it for many years, and it's virtually flawless. Rarely ever does it fail to identify a song; classical music seems to be its only recognizable weakness. I just wish it had a Wear OS extension too.

Nice app for what it does, but more and more it's not recognizing songs without 2 or 3 tries and I'm not talking about in a noisy environment, but recorded music in a quiet room and I get pop-ups asking if someone is humming. No! It's recorded music! It's basically non functional. Couldn't find Watermelon Kisses? Really? My phone was right next to the speakers!

Soundhound is great iv'e been using it for years now, and because of that i have hundreds of songs in my list. I'm missing a search or filter feature because it's very hard to find a particular song if you have to scroll through the whole list

Incompetent. I really used to sweat by soundhound and even went so far as to say it was BETTER than the "Superhero" app. But no more! More and more, I'm finding songs on the other app that this one can't find. Don't know what's going on but this app seems to be losing steam big time! ONE STAR!

I paid for the app on iphone and i cant transfer to android? I do not have the iphone anymore so its not like i can use it. Also when i go to history and select the a song i actually want the information on the song not to have the video play, not everyone on the planet has unlimited data.(maybe team up with spotify? So no videos will play) Update: it does not find songs as well as it used to. Some times it finds the wrong song. Most of the time it does not find the song at all.

I rarely use this app. I have been recommended this app multiple times, and it fails often where Google succeeds. Every time I've looked for a song, I come here, type out the lyrics, and this app comes up with 5 wrong options. With 3 exceptions. "I Can't Decide" came up, I clicked it, and it showed me the lyrics. "Rude!" came up, I clicked it, and it showed me the lyrics. "Rather Be" came up, I clicked it, and Soundhound would NOT show me the lyrics. This app is a scam, JUST USE GOOGLE!

Fine for what it is. It doesn't always seem to find songs even with multiple tries and the services seem buggy at times. Viewing videos for example sometimes just lags until I go back into the viewer to see it again.

Down graded from 4 to 1 stars. Google voice search really outdid this app and I've actually had to use Google voice as a very regular backup to this app when it just won't find what I'm hearing. So I'm just deleting this app now because Google voice made it an obsolete extra.

SoundHound is always using the microphone even when I'm not using the app. This is annoying because this problem prevents other apps from using the microphone. Is there a way I can solve this problem, at least by not allowing microphone use when SoundHound is not running in the background

Great. Just installed and discovered 2 albums that I had forgotten about from 40 years ago. Sound is great. And there are lyrics on many songs. Very happy with the app.

Really dumb App, can't find find most basic songs. It has a Save feature to save songs that it couldn't find but not sure for what, when it should continue searching for song till it darn finds it. If a song exists, it's out there you know...retarded.

Update 31 March 2022: A recurring issue which I had already reported in 2019 (see below): The connection to my Spotify account for auto-adding recognized songs there gets disabled on a regular base without any obvious reason. May I suggest that the dev team takes a closer look on this matter? ((Post from 2019)) Another issue: I have the app connected to my Spotify account but every now and then the accounts get disconnected.

,,Pls Make it possible to search and find music while playin the music on itself ( the device) I can't find music without having another device There always should be another device to find music You can make a notification bar or add something to let me turn the app on, while playing my music or playin another apps , sometimes what I looking for is on another apps and then I can't use SoundHound in the moment

Not happy! I have had soundhound for years and stupidly thought I should make an account to save the discoveries I have made/accumulated since, I used the app today to find i have ONE discovery and my recently played music is mostly made up of Bill Winters, not even my genre of music, neither have I ever searched or 'discovered" music by him. Perhaps j would have been better off not making an account. Deleting this app and downloading shazam instead.

It's a very good and nice app to download for recognizing musics, but still one more thing remains,the app should have something like a mini app one top of the screen,so it will be faster for people to scan music

I've been a user due years, and used to like it a lot, but recently found it significantly lagging behind Google music search in terms of recognition rate and speed (still at the expense of pop-up ads). Uninstalling it, unfortunately.

This app only works if your trying to search for modern pop top 40 and R & B music. I tested it with 10 "old timey songs" that hipsters and rappers would have difficult time twerking to, and found no results. Please acquire more different types of music for your data bank. Until then I will be uninstalling the app.

Used to be brilliant however I'm finding that as each week passes it's not recognising more & more tunes especially from Radio 6 which defeats the purpose of the app. I get the impression that the devs have lost heart in adding new recognition content.

The original developer had to of sold this app to someone that has no clue what they are doing because this app continually gets worse and less user friendly it used to automatically save stuff to your pending if it couldn't find it now you have to make sure you save it, they used to have a discover new artists section, no longer. And i can keep going on and on about what the app used to do but doesn't now

There are so many times that it cannot tell me what song I'm listening to in Spanish. Even songs that I've heard repeatedly on the radio so I know they are popular. I'm just not familiar enough to know who sings them. I'm going to try a different app and see if it is better, at least for Spanish artists.

Very good live lyrics karaoke style. Wish I could adjust to highlight a little earlier before it's voiced. Also would like to change default view to show lyrics instead of picture.

Creator could: improve search times. Creator could with labor: use over many devices to iteratively search radio playlists and other published playlists while searching live music playlists. The app creator is lazily expecting no improvements to in fact be made to the app: regardless of its scale of use and repeated testing.

I've really enjoyed this app, but lately it won't let me search with sound, only through typed in searches. It didn't seem to notice that I'm trying to search until I let go, and then it searches even though it wasn't listening and doesn't pull up any results. In the past I've used this to identify lots of songs and it's been super helpful.

It's a good app, just not my cup'o tea. One of my employees really loves it though. She scanned a song for me at work, and it's a song I have have been trying to find it for awhile now! Like I said it is a good app, just not for me. It's worth trying out at least.

I've used this app for years, as somewhat if a music head when I hear a good ear bug I generally want to hear it again. Recently though it will not auto add my searches to my Spotify which is why the rating

This app is very user-friendly. Also I like the fact that I can just push the button and, it tells me what song it is unless it's Hawaiian song sometimes but very very rarely it can't recognize the song.
