App forced removal from my Android phone - no explanation - just wont work. We love the airline - top marks in almost everything they do - but to kill an app - which basically now requires us to print boarding passes and check in by computer is not only not smart - but a great way to get me to explore other airline options. Come on team - fix this, or at least provide a quick easy way to transfer the data from a computer to your cell phone for flights.

By far the worst airline app. Does not notify you of any changes in flights or gates so completely up to you to constantly check for any updates. My take on Southwest is that it is horrible for the everyday traveler. If you're a once in a blue moon traveler and just need a cheap ticket with free bag then this is the best option for you. If not, then paying $50 extra for another airline that offers a smooth process and peace of mind is much more worth it. Apps only value is mobile boarding pass.

I rarely bother with single-brand travel apps, but this one's an exception. Southwest's app does "what it says on the tin"—you can book flights on Southwest from anywhere your phone has signal. Well-designed user interface makes it almost too easy. Good job to the dev team on this one!

I can't see an easy way to access and save my boarding pass from main app screen. The whole screen is just stupid ads and 'deals' and it makes me click multiple links and enter my confirmation number EVERY TIME! Once my trip info is entered it should be saved in an EASY to get to place. No screen shots or needing to save to my Google wallet but right directly in your app.

Poor UX-UI design. Lied about early boarding. You can't just click a button to "view boarding pass". You have to go through check in first, then view the flight, then scroll down to view boarding passes. And the app times out, so if you just open it in line it times out by the time you get to the front. Also, we paid extra for early boarding and still ended up in group B. Not ok. If they just sell as many early boarding tickets as they can and everyone buys them, then its not early boarding.

Recently I can no longer book flights on the app. When I search for flights the screen is blank and does not show me any options so I'm forced to use the mobile site. As an aside this is also my least favorite airline app...very little utility and information, slow updates regarding delays (my travel agency texts me way sooner), terrible calendar syncs...and I didn't think anything could get worse than American app.

The Southwest app could honestly use some work but I'm still giving it a 4 because despite it's short-comings, it's better than most other airlines. It must be a condition, particular to booking flights, that every airline has to make it difficult for you... Circular menus, not saving information, not allowing you to easily view the entire calendars and prices, forcing you to start over if you want to change one thing or you make a mistake. Southwest does a decent job of minimizing frustrations.

This app is vastly inferior to other airlines in regards to keeping you updated . I have to force close then reopen to get updated flight times or gate changes (and the app has never notified me about these automatically), pulling downward to refresh is rarely successful. Combined with Southwest's penchant for delaying flights, you could be really screwed if you rely on the app. The only notifications I have received are nags about booking a hotel or rental car. NOT what I care about.

I have enjoyed our trip on Southwest. The optional seating has worked for us. We did early bird check-in which helps with being able to find seats next to each other. Otherwise if your later in boarding you may be separated. The difference in price flying with Southwest is well worth it to me. You still get the food & drink perks too!

This was my first time flying since 2016. And things have changed a lot. I truly enjoy the pre-boarding and the allotment of two bags. As a senior citizen Southwest made my travels enjoyable, easy to access the website, and an overall enjoyable experience. will travel with Southwest again and recommend to others.

The app is very responsive and reliable. Easy to use and saves a little paper since i can get my boarding pass. Should probably cache the boarding pass once it pulls it in case you reach a point where you have no network connection, but otherwise it's a great app. I love flying Southwest!

The APP is a little "slow," which makes the check in process often more frustrating than it could be. More than once I am ready to do the 24-hour-prior-to-flight-check-in, and the slowness of the APP still will place me in a B Boarding position. Still, overall the APP is intuitive and adequate. Now, if only SWA would pull their collective heads out.... and end their tyrannical mask-erade!

The check-in process through the app is immensely flawed. I'm guessing it's based upon east coast time despite where you reside. I tried to check in 24 hours before my flight. It said my flight isn't allowed to check in. Two hours later I get a notification from the app, "time to check in", and it worked. What an idiotic system. Major fail for Southwest. The app is poorly designed and low class, like the management team.

Bad service. Delayed flights. And their computer system is in accurate. Says my flight is on time 30 mins after it was supposed to arrive. This app is completely pointless. Just dont fly southwest and you will have a better experience

Apps that locks out users to force an upgrade get one star. Also broken right now for booking flights. Asks for payment phone number then says it is invalid. Says to fix on website which does NOT have a space in payments for phone number! Very bad experience. Update 05/2022: still locks you out if they think your version of the app isn't upgraded enough. Can't even do basic things like create, review, or update reservations.

It'd be 5 stars if there is no flights changes by the airline. In the past few years, Southwest has changed my existing itineraries to longer flight time and more connections. Love the flexibility for passengers to change their trip.

The ONLY feature I wish you included is: Ability to purchase a passenger ticket independently. I couldn't buy my wife's ticket through the app because I wasn't purchasing my personal ticket at that moment. It had been purchased prior. This occurs in instances where a corporate traveler like myself has to use their employer's preferred booking service/method. I would love to still associate and purchase her flight with my account. Thanks for great service!

The app works and found my reservations. But I can't find a way to get text alerts. Once again, the American Airlines app allowed me to get text alerts for all tickets. I was able to adjust tentative seat assignments and I was able to add TSA numbers for all passengers. Not sure about the flight experience, but the AA app appears to be superior.

Transformative. This is THE airline who has done more for air travel than any other airline in the past 25 years. Thank you so much for all you do. This app is top notch also and for the first time makes it easier to book a flight on your phone than on a desktop.

Easiest way to travel these days. Even when flying last minute you can still get a pretty good deal. Also Southwest is opening up to more cities so there's more places that you can travel. Their flight attendants are like no other air lines. They are friendly, patient and funny. I have traveled 6 times in the last several months and I've chosen to fly with Southwest.

Easy interface. Prices are competitive. Love the user friendly app. However the notifications via text do not work to update you on trip changes.. ie time or gate changes..

Southwest always seems to have the flight to where I want to go, when I need it at an affordable price. The staff has always gone above & beyond to meet special needs. My #1 choice for domestic flights

I booked a flight and there was a $200 savings offer with a pre-approved credit card. While waiting to get the reddit card approved, I got booted out of the app and was not able to apply the $200 savings when I logged back in. Now I have a $69 annual charge for the credit card and have to spend $300 on something else to get the $200 savings.
