I'm 64 years old and a little tech challenged. This app made it easy for me to navigate . I even put my scope in it. It shows what point of aim should look like through the reticle. Also like that it shows energy values. Might make it elk hunting one more time. Thank you so much. Scot.
This is an exceptional ballistics app. It's easy to setup, maintain/ edit and is dead-on accurate. If your inputs are correct, then Igor has you covered. I took a new Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor, Sierra 130 SMK from zero to 1,349 yards in 31 rounds. A competitor app 4DOF (free version) may be popular and even sexier looking, but it's buggy and IMO, not intuitive to setup. Strelok may not be 'pretty', but it's an elegant app in its simplicity and ease of use - and it works.
Update: Programmer responded with a quick "fix". I figured out how to back up data in case of another software issue! GTG. (Earlier: I really like the program but for the last four months, every few weeks or so all my cartridge data is erased.-- meaning time consumed in gathering data is wasted. I remove the app and then download it again and re-enter all my data ..and I haven't figured out the pattern of when the wipe will happen. I can't trust the app so I am removing it for the last time.)
As a ballistics calculator this app is brilliant. Unfortunately all the time it's installed I'm getting full screen video adverts appearing on my phone, even when the app isn't running. Delete the app & they stop, reinstall the app they start again. I'm hoping the paid version doesn't have the same problem as I'm tempted to buy Strelok+ to work out aim points for my 2nd focal plane scopes.
All sfp mil-dot scopes are calibrated to a certain magnification. The Hawke 3-9x40 is calibrated to 10x but only goes to 9x, an annoyance for many. In Strelok entering that scope's magnification range and calibration the app only recognise it in the reticle graphic but in the ballistic list and on main page calculation the app does not account for it. For a paid app that should be addressed.
still the best (free) ballistic calculator I've found to date. I've used Strelok for years without issue and am a pretty heavy reloader of my own ammo. Strelok provides great ballistic info, flight times and bullet drop data. Ive never compared the listed data to a chrony but it's always worked in a pinch or when shooting. I recommend this app or even the pay version.
It was good until my data disappeared. I had multiple setups logged and tested. All of that customized data was erased and lost at some point. Stupidly, I did not keep backup records outside the app so will have to spend multiple range sessions to recreate everything. Will likely look for another app to do so.
Excellent app. Enter the correct information and this app will put you on target. Boris has always answered my questions promptly & thoroughly. Like anything the more you use it and practice the better it can predict your trajectory. Scope height, chronograph Muzzle Velocity, G7 B.C. or as close as possible, weather for zero and weather each time engaging target if it is changing, reading wind, (tuff part), powder temp and temp stability, barrel twist and twist direction etc. Then do your part.
Great tool to use but flawed. The major issue of this app is when it has an update. Everytime the app updates all the data is lost and you have to re-enter everything. Makes it a pain. Other than that, its simple to use and accurate.
Disappointing and frustrating. This app gives you only one ballistic table. Never mind it's not the caliber or bullet you are shooting. Federal and Hornady have much better easier to use apps. Take this one to the range and shoot it.
Ok it's just too expensive thing I didn't like was having to install it to find out the price of the two paid options. Guess he gets credit for the install anyway. Wonder if when I uninstalled it reversed that. To be fair I was just curious about the price. The free version maybe all that's needed. It looked good, no ads. One star for hiding the price. The price of your two paid versions or updates whatever you are charging $5 and $11 for.
Installed in new phone and useless. When I open the app it sends me to a predetermined setting and no way out of it ? I don't even know what caliber, bullet weight, velocity. Definitely not right.
I cannot exactly say how the app is as it does not have my retical on the list. I have emailed but no response. I have played around with what I can use and it looks great. If my retical gets added I will most likely purchase the full app.
Best app available. super powerful, super easy. if you complain that your reticle isn't listed, you don't need a calculator, you need a different scope. hello, mil-dots are mil-dots. Anything else is just fooling around!
Awesome app have had for years and love it thinking of going to pro version currios if that has burris veracity reticles? All said and done for the beginer long range shooter this app beats hornady and others hands down because you don't need to login as its all static memory so you can be in middle of no where and get your range dope with out needing cell connection . just an amazing tool
Incredibly capable and intuitive calculator. Between knowledge gained in TiborasaurusRex's "Sniper101" series on YouTube, a means of measuring relevant met, cartridge, etc. data, and this calculator, you should have everything you need to start dialing up very accurate solutions
Exactly what I wanted. Simple, straight forward ballisics calculator. I am using the free version now and will likely upgrade to the paid version but I don't want to lose the simplicity and ease of use of this version so I will wait a bit. Great app. Thanks!
I like the app but it crashes when I try to email myself a table. Info is easy to read and input. I wish I could save and print the table for the range.
I have each Dee different reticles sightings on different scopes. I'm killing you this app is outstanding definitely first class. I'm anxious to read more and find out what I've been missing.
Its a specialized calculator. Works if the load has been cronographed. Idea. What if there is no cronograph? Could the speed be determined if the ballistic coefficent and point of impact were known for several ranges? Say 100, 300, 500 meters.
An excellent app. It would be good to have hold over/under distances on the reticle for a specific set of ranges as per the table
Data disappears. When you try to restore it runs one time then just closes with no data. Old version worked great.. developer should have left it alone
