This is an okay app. if you are a beginner I'd recommend skipping this app. This features numerous workouts with differently trainers and prepares a schedule for you with daily workout plans. The exercises are good. The only issue I had were with the instructions. In each exercise, there's a 'GIF' like instruction clip but with no audio. The instructor doesn't walk you through the exercise, just does them. I wasn't sure half the time if I was doing them right. There are better free options.
I started using BBG in pdf format back in 2015 and have watched and experienced its evolution over the years into the app it is today. During the intervening years I have had two pretty major surgeries and have had to take training down a lot prior to surgery, complete breaks during recovery, and then work my way back into shape afterward. Having all of the options and different levels of training available in the app has kept me motivated at each stage and I am grateful for it!
I have an annual subscription, and dip in and out! Have just completed the latest challenge, and enjoyed every bit of it, as it kept me focused, and accountable! Great choice between workouts - choose what you want, or do a fixed programme! Many more dietary, mindfulness and community support features too! Also great feedback to questions, if you need! Love it, and will continue to use it, as I have had great results!
With the subscription you get so many choices and options depending on your goal. It has really accommodated all of my needs and as I've progressed I've been able to select other workouts and challenges to fit my body change. There are endless opportunities! Once you use consistently, it can really become a part of your daily life. There are also so many diet ideas and recipes, daily based on your plan!
I had one time where the app wouldnt open for 4 days. I had to uninstall and redownload and when I did, I lost all my workout data. Its a little annoying you cant skip a set and go back to it. Sometimes at the gym you cant get on a certain equiptment straight away so you cannot follow the exact section, but you also cannot go back to do it later. I love the express yoga but it would also be cool to have two programs running at once, e.g. mindfulness & bodybuilding. Everything else is A Ok :)
I really like the workouts and the layout so I decided to pay the $20. However, this application only records things when it wants too. I have imput all the information to detail (weights/rpe and equipment) just for it to get deleted and I keep getting the message " no history you haven't done this exercise" even when the exercise is marked as completed. No reply to emails, no support. App is clearly cheap made and they charge that much - not to mention the spam emails. I'm requesting a refund.
It's an amazing app. Here you have your own personal trainer for a great price. I'd have only one suggestion for improvement and that is the option to mute the app whilst doing a workout. I like to watch something else during the workout. Thank you Kayla and the team for this amazing app and it's new updates are awesome! A small update.Would it be possible to have google chrome cast option? As I sometimes do the workouts at home, it would be great for the neck to look at TV instead of the phone.
Love this app! Only issue is that if you have music then you cant hear the trainer. Wish the trainer either interrupted the music, turned the music down or was just louder than the music in general. But overall I love this app, feels like you've got your own personal trainer right there to guide you through!
Love the variety of programs to suit my needs. The ability to substitute exercises is also a nice feature. I wish the cookbook had more info regarding nutritional info about each recipe. For example, the amount of calories, fat, protein etc. per portion.
I downloaded the app expecting full coached classes, but these are kind of gif based clips for each movement, then you manually have to press the arrow to go to the next one. For this price, and the social media marketing makes it look like you get a fun recorded class with the trainer which turns out not to be the case, this was disappointing. Lean with Lilly is better for this. Try the 7 day free trial before committing.
Very disappointed. The pictures would have you believing each workout is a video of the instructor taking to you as if you were in a class. But it's not like that. Each workout is a series of GIFs, where the move is shown to you before you move onto the next one. Very boring and unmotivating. I thought it would be like I'm in a class, where the instructor talks to you and motivates you. Joined today and can't get refund for yrly subscription. Misleading.
Really enjoying the app. User friendly navigation and great workouts. Really well designed and even tho I'm not a newbie it still works me really well. One star less because: 1) can't sync with my Fitbit 2) choice of workouts still pretty small comparing to other apps/platforms 3) yoga sessions could be better
So far it's a really good app, however I do not like that I cannot change the meal options. It gives you an option to change from "rye to wholemeal bread," but I would prefer a whole meal swap out because most of the meal plans it has set for me; I never have ANY of the ingredients for.
I love it and have been now using it for about 8 weeks consistently. The only con is that for most of the exercises the history is always unavailable (hostory is where it which shows how much weight and how many repetitions you did previously on that exercise). Please fix this bug and the app will be 5/5 rate!
Loved it for 3 years now! It's the most user-friendly, well designed workout app I've used. I loved it even more after they made the post pregnancy workouts just in time for me to be postpartum. I typically use it twice a day, in the morning for a guided stretch/yoga and in the afternoon for HIIT or weight training. I've literally never had an issue with it for 3 years, and I get just as much out of it than expensive in person trainers.
I have tried many different similar apps along with a wide variety of in-person group workouts. This is far and away the best option. Other fitness programs just do a random workout of the day with no consideration of progressive challenge. Sweat's programs slowly ramp up difficulty so you are really able to make consistent gains over time. Easily worth the subscription cost.
I have been using Sweat for the last 5 years with some breaks and continuously during the last year. I love the variety of workout, the features and how great the app evolved since I started using it. Went through BBG program, PWR and Strength and Resistance and now started S&R again. Totally recommend it if you want to have options for both at home and at the gym workouts. Love it 💖
It is weird that in the food section, you cannot just add the recipe as what you ate, so that it automatically counts your calories too. Also, it is not possible to substitute an exercise for something because of a body injury. Like if i have an impinged shoulder or achillis tedinitus or a disc problem etc there are no modified exercises. This is while the app is extremely pricy and you can only do a 7day trial once in a lifetime.
I love this app but wish it had 360 view of instructor. Also would be amazing if you could select a video on how to do the move correctly instead of reading how to. Wish there was more pelvic floor specific excercises too! But thats being picky a great app that has helped me get back into fitness.
This is hands down the best fitness app. There are so many workouts, there is literally something for everyone, from pilates, yoga, Barre, strength, hiit. You name it sweat has it! They are also constantly improving with updates! I've been a member for years!!!
I love that I am able to choose to work out at home or the gym and then I can follow the advised plan or browse the trainers for another workout. I love that I can select which part of the body I want to focus on. I also love the ability to sub in more difficult exercises if I need a challenge. I wish I could have tested into a specific week of a plan. Power 1.0 was too easy.
I read somewhere it is not worth the money because "they are GIF exercises". It couldn't be more far from the truth. I have tried many free apps, which are good or excellent, but this is a premium quality app with thoughfully planned workouts, and for me-most important of all-exercises are sooo well-guided, from breathing to correcting movement. I am just hoping that some of the future updates will link the app to Garmin watch (or app). I love #sweat!
I wish the app would stop freezing! I'm not sure if anyone has had the same issues but sometimes the app is slow to open.. and I have to wait several minutes to open it. I've already contacted the sweat team and have gone through trouble shooting, I had a free trial and had no issues with the app for 2 months and then as soon as I paid for the membership this happens.
Basically everything you would need in a fitness app; tons of workouts to chose from that don't require equipment, ability to pair Spotify, recipe ideas, weekly planners with programs to follow and instructions to make sure you have correct form. My favorite part is that it encourages you to book in your workouts like appointments each week and then congratulates you when you complete them. I've never worked out 12 weeks in a row religiously until I found Miss Kayla, thank you!!
It's a bit limited on detailed info. This is designed well for people who don't do any sport or fitness outside of the programmes. There are some programmes that allow for lower intensity sport. My main problem is it doesn't have the option to exclude certain muscle groups. I also just find the layout a bit confusing and overly complicated.
