Tap Log

With Tap Log it is easy to maintain a record of statistics such as work tasks, weight, drinks or anything else you want to keep track of. Categories are customizable and allow you to generate well-formatted log entries in seconds of quantities, text notes, gps locations, and more. You can even log directly from the home-screen with home-screen widgets.
Event categories are set up in advance to minimize the interaction required to log events as they happen in real-time. A set of charts are included that include daily sum, average, min, max, time of day, streak, and more.

Tap Log has been used to track mood, habits, calories, coffee intake, water and alcohol intake, height, vitamins, basic workouts, and much more. Apart from health and fitness, people use Tap Log's GPS and e-mail features for law enforcement, trucking mileage, expense tracking, and real estate logging. Tap Log helps some users run their small businesses.

Tap Log makes it easy to log quickly so you can focus on more important things in life.

Database transfers:The easiest way to transfer databases is to purchase and use the backup service, but you can also transfer it manually using the following instructions. Options for manual export can be found in App Settings -> Miscellaneous

How to transfer a database from OldPhone to NewPhone:1. On NewPhone, open Tap Log and export the DB2. Locate the NewPhone TapLog directory (either on phone memory or SD card)3. On OldPhone, open Tap Log and export the DB4. Locate the OldPhone TapLog directory and copy it5. Paste the TapLog Directory from the OldPhone over the NewPhone TapLog directory6. Open Tap Log on the NewPhone and import the DB

Very cool. Love the simplicity combined with power. The interface is nice. Ability to export data is great. Even though this is for an older version of Android, and seems abandoned, it still works just fine. The only major feature I would like to see is a web view so that I could access my data on any web-connected device. Also nice would be an option to set a picture, such as an emoji, for a log.

It would be nice if I could prevent it from taking me to the stats section after every button push. I can't find an editable text file that would let me define buttons using a computer, then transfer to the phone. This would be much faster for projects that require a lot of buttons. It would be nice if I could change the size and color of buttons. It also needs a way to quickly clear the logged data. Custom icons for the buttons would be cool too (maybe store icons in an accessible folder and allow users to add to that folder.)

"Unknown issue with play services" Alright app. Not much customization options, so you're pretty limited in what you can do. I tried to save a backup because I'm getting a new phone and have important data I don't want to disappear, and I even got the subscription. But it says "unknown issue with place services" and then just has a loading icon that keeps spinning. I emailed the data to myself (raw text), but I wanted to keep the categories I had and the structure. And now I can't restore it.

Never updated. Outdated. Pressing the back button takes fully out of the app and not back one level. Pressing out of the dialog box cancels all the typing. No back button to delete some text. No improvement of any kind in years. March 2021: Can't even been back up to the cloud or local hard drive. It says a play service is missing while nothing is missing. The been vendor never responded for years so i assume nothing is coming back again.

Adding multiple log entries in quick succession is really unintuitive. When you submit, it takes you to the history view. If you then hit back, it will close the app. There are two swipe actions that will take you back to the dashboard, but I am finding it very difficult to train myself out of hitting back, because my interactions with the app typically last only a few seconds.

Hi, thanks, I really like this app. Would it be possible to add a feature where I could choose a fixed/default start date for my charts? (To always start at 2 Jan 21, instead of the last 30 days). That would be amazing! :) UPDATE: This is really frustrating having to change the start date every day because the default is only one month :(

Think this app is pretty much broken now with the later versions of Android. Not been updated since 2015. Won't allow you to back to to Google Drive anymore, says issue with Google Play Services and that you need to contact the developer (who is unresponsive). Shame, as it was a very useful app on it's day 🙁

This app is exactly what i was looking. I use it to record events that might affect my health and export them so i can do the data analysis myself. Other apps that i have tried could not provide the same functionality: open the app, tap once and done.

No Android Widget & No Response From Support. I've been using Tap Log for years and have purchased everything but I can't add a home screen widget tap button any longer. It just brings up a white box with no connection to the app and does nothing when you click on it. Sent support emails several times and heard nothing at all.

Used to be perfect, but seems to be abandoned. Won't back up, giving play services errors, difficult to export data. Very disappointed, not recommended.

simple to use. opens up fast. trustworthy. easy to export from. actually adds time and date stamps. what I've been looking for Edit:App is no longer letting me export CSV files, sad

Rent only (subscribe) for $2/mo. That's $24/yr., each and every year. No outright purchase. And there are a dozen in-app purchases ranging from $1.50 to $5 each for things like various icon sets, two additional levels of hierarchy, and NFC. Unjustifiably expensive, in my opinion.

This is such a useful, all-purpose-type app! I use it to log vitamins, thoughts, important events, symptoms, illness, duration of illness, weight, goals, a simple counter.... It's great.

Oh-so-close, but needs improvement: The filename that is autogenerated for save-csv-to-sdcard is great, namely something like "Tap Log Export 20191229.csv". That is a meaningful and useful filename. Only suggestion is replace " " with - and use YYYY-MM-DD for readability. But then why not use the same good filename for save-csv-to-email (and google drive)? Calling it just "Csv File" is not useful.

It was a very good app, but it is abandoned now. I wish a developer would re do it and put their own spin on it.

Tap Log is fast, reliable, and simple: what all apps should strive to be.

Strong app spoiled by lack of response to user feedback. Hoping someone else takes on the design.

Quick and easy to take a note. I love this app.

Nat. G. Sep 4, 2020

Can you add button that shows difference between first ever and last ever log?

Car. d. M. Jan 3, 2021

Exactly what I was looking for, to bad it's not updated anymore

This was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!

The Tap Log app needs a better way to link to Google Drive account for backup. I just installed Tap Log. When I clocked 'automatic backup' I got an error "Unknown issue with Google Play Services". I tried many different workarounds including wiping cache, uninstalling Google updates, resetting phone settings etc. The issue was that Tap Log wasn't connecting properly with Google Drive. In order to get them to properly connect I had to click "Restore from backup". Then automatic backup started working properly.
