Love the app, love the workouts, wish the meal plan was integrated into it. Honestly that's the only thing that the app is missing. A weekly suggested shopping list and then suggested recipes with links out would be AMAZING! Going from the app to the pdf is a little annoying.
Purchased a ToneItUp product which included no instructions whatsoever and only gives info about this app and the website. Still no instructions, just a subscription service. I can't access one workout for my item without subscribing. At least GAIAM provides free online instructions and workouts with every purchased item. I doubt I'll ever buy another ToneItUp product. Uninstalling.
Unfortunately this app just doesn't work for me and my set-up. I work out from home, and have been doing TIU YouTube videos, the Beachbabe DVDs, etc. from my laptop for several years. Trying to work out from my tiny phone screen doesn't work for me - the screen is just too small and far away no matter where I set it down, and I'm not willing to buy a TV for the cast option. Also, I wish the studio workouts had consistent warm ups. When you 'enter the studio' there is no pause option, and often the warm up is only one or two light toning moves. On the other hand the on demand section does have a nice selection with more flexibility to pause if need be. Overall though, I can't justify the cost for my circumstances, and am disappointed with the direction TIU is going in with everything being based out of the app and less available on other media channels.
not able to use with new update. I loved the colors, workouts, and weekly schedule. since the update, it freezes as soon as I log on with the message about the new updates, and nothing happens when I click great. I have logged on from a strong wifi connection, uninstalled and reinstalled, but still no luck. I hope it is fixed soon or I will cancel my subscription...bummed out.
I am so grateful for TIU! I've been looking for a way to exercise since I stopped dancing 6 years ago, but nothing I tried felt right. Being able to work out at home has helped me focus and build a consistent exercise habit for the first time ever! The workouts are varied, fit for all levels, and not overly saturated in testosterone like other programs I've seen. The recent update does make things easier to find, even if it did have a learning curve. Love feeling changes in my body and mind!
Scrolling through search results is really buggy. Very frustrating as that's the only way to see the prenatal videos. - Overall I do like the workouts, but it's really annoying to have an inferior experience to iPhone users (especially when we have to pay the same monthly price). One feature request: I would love to see a daily schedule of pregnancy-safe daily moves/workouts.
Great fitness app! It's the first one that I've downloaded and actually use 5-7 times a week. The TIU Community is amazing and this app is just an extension of it. It's difficult to schedule my classes ahead of time, so I love the On Demand area where I can just click work out now. I also like the this week's workouts area so that I can see which workouts I absolutely can't miss when scheduling my rest days for the week. A couple of improvements I would suggest is a download function, a tracking feature, and casting. I want to take this app everywhere with me, but if I don't have cell service I can't do my workouts (I know most everywhere has wifi, but if I'm on a cruise I don't want to pay for it daily). A tracking feature would allow you to see if you've completed a workout or to save that workout if you really love it. I mirror my phone typically and that works fine, but casting would save me a couple of steps.
ETA2: I have emailed that address MANY times and never received any help. ETA: The app is worse with the updates described in the response. Now, it won't even open. OP: The TIU workouts are great! Clearly, they have an issue with Android and haven't been able to solve it. The worst part about the app, though, is the customer service. I've had to email several times with issues and they are unresponsive and unhelpful. If you reach out again, they just tell you they are working on it. I can forgive some tech issues but these are constant and they won't help you.
it keeps crashing and I keep uninstalling and reinstalling, I have turned off phone and it still crashes. I got the year subscription but it just is getting to the point it is unusable! If we could log on to the website and do the workouts as before at least that would be something. Looks like I won't be able to do the next challenge after all! UPDATE: I have been in touch with them by email and they have been really helpful, they have wanted to know exactly when it crashes e.g. in demand or when looking for your own workouts and made some suggestions which I think have helped, this morning it ran all the way through.
The videos are SO small! I've been using my iPad when doing my workouts, I don't have a TV in my basement. The video is like a third of the page and the clock is so huge, it takes up all the space. I Find the video is very hard to see! Especially if you workout with another person. So, my critique is not on the content, it's on the poor layout of this app. Very frustrating and if this doesn't get fixed, I will probably be cancelling my subscription/not renewing it.
I love the new look look to the app. I only occasionally have crashing issues so that's not really an issue now. I like the idea of the programs but I hate how they took away the weekly schedule and they took out the option to log a workout outside of the app (like running). I wish they could put those 2 things back in the app. Not sure why they took them out to begin with.
Love the workouts, hate the app. The app keeps locking up, like others have reported, and I can't even turn my phone off. My phone eventually reboots itself. If I ever need to pause or rewind a video the app locks up then too. I wish I could access the videos through their website on my laptop as an alternative to only having access through an app on my phone. I used to love the weekly schedule with options to schedule the time. I preferred that to always being in a "program".
The app is a great concept and has a simple, streamlined design, but the Android version is TERRIBLY glitchy. If my screen locks while I'm doing a move, I have to reopen the app and start from the beginning to get to the next move. Frequently, the app will just randomly close in the middle of swiping through the daily moves. Please bring the daily moves back to the website (these are all I use), at least until you work out the kinks. The app is so frustrating to use right now!
I absolutely love TIU workouts, but this app has issues. The last few months it locks up as the workout is ending. That is one of the most frustrating scenarios- just got done working out, blowing off steam, relieving stress, and...phone crashes and don't get to do the cool down, stretches, or even just turn my phone off. I don't have an update pending, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I use an Android, and it didn't happen until the last few months. Any ideas what could be the problem?
Signing up for TIU's program and app has absolutely been worth the investment. There's a wide variety of workouts ranging from 12-35 minutes. Every workout is positive and fun, and each instructor provides clear direction and modifications depending on your fitness level. Always sore! Plus, most workouts can be done at home with little to no equipment. There are also sections for your personal profile and TIU nutrition/recipes. The app itself is pretty simple but easy to navigate.
I love the app. And have been using it for almost a year now. I love the workouts and the girls. But lately I am having trouble with certain videos. Some of the videos play without issues and on high quality, others have low quality and keeps on buffing while working out. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Even upgraded our wifi package. No luck. I have the app both on android and my ipad. Both devices are having issues. (App is up to date) I hope it resolves in time
I like that there are a ton of workout options but a lot of the workouts aren't challenging for someone advanced. The instructors spend a lot of time stretching, talking and taking breaks in between moves which is frustrating when it's a short workout to begin with. The Jillian Michaels app is much more challenging (and able to be customized by level) and is a third of the cost. Wish they had harder workouts and charged a little less than $15/month.
Great workout app. For the cost, it has very high quality content. This has replaced a gym membership for me. My most-used features: You can save favorite workouts, join challenges whenever is convenient for you, and it automatically tracks your progress on that challenge. The videos are organized very clearly by type. There is a good variety (pilates, HIIT, yoga, etc.). There is also a social aspect, but I don't use that.
So bittersweet. I've had this app since it launched and have been hoping it'd get better over time. It really sucks that android users have to pay the full amount as other users for a product that barely works. It's always crashing. And now the lack of a cast button pretty much makes this useless. The alternatives are wildly inconvenient if you don't have the systems set up a certain way, or in my case have not been able to ever get it to function properly. Sadly, I think it's time to call it quits until the bugs have been figured out.
I love this app and use it all the time. Would love: 1) to be able to use it on my Chromebook. Having to choose between the tiny phone screen and our tv (which is in high demand) isn't ideal 2) to be able to save check-ins on the app itself. The sharing tool doesn't always work and then I have to either fast forward through the workout to get my picture back (which messes up my count for my badges) or I lose out on the check in.
I never leave app reviews, but this one is so so good, I am happy to share to let others know. I used their pregnancy & postpartum programs and loved them. Just enough of a workout without being too much! Now I'm starting on more challenging ones at 7 months pp and I'm feeling so good! The app is perfect, no glitches. The workouts are fun and keep me in shape without making me want to give up. I've tried so many YouTube channels and other apps. This one is perfect!!! Going for another year!
Really nice app, offers a large variety of workouts and recovery (stretching, foamrolling). The moves are explained well and I feel like my form really improved from following the guidelines mentioned during each workout! You can follow one of the existing programs or just compose your own schedule based on the workouts. The search options are really nice and intuitive, with workouts sorted in categories. That way it does not feel overwhelming. It would be nice to have the option to filter the workouts on 'appartment friendly' (i.e. no jumping). Now I have to watch the workout videos in advance to check if I have to go outside for a certain workout not to disturb my downstairs neighbours.
After reading a number of the recent reviews I'm really happy that my app physically works. I haven't experienced any technical difficulties or errors which is good. My two star review is rooted in my disappointment w/ the changes. I miss the simplicity of the weekly calendar where I could schedule my workouts. The previous set up helped with accountability that I feel is missing now. The Programs feel limiting and I don't care enough about access nutrition to view it as a worthwhile add :(
Great app! The girls are very cool and motivational. I am doing the 14 day slay for a second round and already seeing results on my abs. My only recommendation is to have a classification of the workouts according to their level of difficulty. I am afraid that some of the programs could be on a beginner level and I prefer advanced level workouts. Of course it will be the best if everyone can choose according to his level.
Love the workouts, they're short but effective. I honestly can't recommend this app enough due to the workouts. My only complaint is about how the app tracks my progress during a program. If I miss a day or two of Week 1 of a program, on the 7th day, it will automatically bump me to Week 2. Plus, if I decide to go back to Week 1 to finish any workouts that I missed, it won't mark those workouts as completed. I'd love to be able to tell the app I'm done with Week 1 rather than it telling me.
the workouts with the girls are wonderful, so nothing to complain about there! I love following their workouts that always leave me feeling accomplished and craving more! the app itself, however, freezes CONSTANTLY..huge negative. another thing that I would love to be able to see, is my past work outs. I'd like to be able to look back on what I conquered that day/week/month! Another thing that would make it amazing would be the capability to save your favorite workout
So disappointed, I have followed Tone It Up since 2012, dipping in and out of the workouts when I needed to. I have only just downloaded the apps so that I could do the Daily Moves during the Love Your Body Challenge and the app crashes before it even opens. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling countless times and restarting my phone and nothing works. I really hope this gets sorted as I would love to use the app.
Update - Problem was fixed fast and easy! Super impressed with the customer service on getting this resolved! Thank you and can't wait to start up the work outs again!! I have been charged for 3 months, yet on day 3 of the subscription I'm being told I don't have one! I have the receipt and I've done everything the trouble shooting suggestions have told me. And still can't access anything! I'm so frustrated and I just want to get what I paid for! I really love these work outs and I would really love to be able to do them again!
I cant get any farther than logging in. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times, it gets stuck on the same screen every time and won't let me click on anything. Just frozen. And I've seen other reviewers mention this issue, and the response is just that you need strong wifi. I have extremely strong wifi and it's still happening, meaning it's clearly an issue within the app.
I forgot how much I love Tone It Up and this app has great instructors and variety! It works really well too. Edit: I still love the app and all the workouts it offers but now it doesn't work right if I don't turn on location services. I have no interest in that part of the app, but if I don't turn on my location and instead click "no thanks" it repeatedly and immediately keeps popping up with a notation to turn on location services. It's annoying.
