Great resource when information is accurate, which is only like 80% of the time. Needs more up-to-the-minute update information on delays and reroutes. Additionally, often when I scroll down a schedule of search result, it will lag out
I'd rather give this a 3.5 - a little confusing on figuring out what time my train (that I'm on) will arrive - so I can let my pickup it taxi know - it can be done but I have to think too much. Also haven't figured out saving regular touted for re-use yet. There's a lot to like about the app - but maybe a "customer use case" or "jobs to be done" analysis approach would help.
Horrible app. Times are never correct, have to continually refresh even during current search to get the proper route times and even time during the day. Will come up with the most bizarre schedule like 12:05 a.m. to get somewhere for 8 a.m. and it is only a 30 minute trip. Has gotten worse since Triplinx took over and the TTC trip planner was horrible to start off with.
The app is a good resource for accurate bus timetables. I wonder why not integrate the presto and triplinx services so that we can buy tickets/ load presto cards and moniter bus timings in a single and inclusive app.
Stops working 5 minutes after finding a route. Looking for an alternative route yields only the same options. Completely useless to plan a trip in Toronto.
The App worked even better than the Transit App for quite some time until the last 1 to 2 months when it stopped working. Anytime I try to enter an address in the "From" or "To" boxes, it automatically crashes and closes the app asking if I want to send feedback with the error details or if I want to close the app. Very frustrating and useless app! I've uninstalled and updated numerous times and no, that did not fix it. UPDATE: problem has been fixed. Just still not showing live bus locations.
LATEST UPDATE!! Well, after uninstalling and reinstalling a few more times last week, I thought I'd keep the Triplinx icon out of my TRANSIT folder and put it right on my homescreen. This seems to have worked. The app has been working great for almost a week now. I guess it doesn't like to run from a "sub-directory". Hopefully that was it. Great app. 👍
EDIT: After another couple weeks of wrestling with the app, I have to change my review. If Miway hadn't decided to pair with triplinx, I would delete the app. PLANNING: Occasionally offers routes that make sense. However, this is often not the case. TRACKING: The bus tracking aspect of this app is quite possibly the biggest crime of all. Does not update in real time - must do a full app refresh to get the latest times. Additionally, the times it shows are consistently off by several minutes.
The app works well and is very quick. Convenient that you can sort by fastest trip or one with least stops. Has occasionaly suggested an odd path. Telling me to go to union station to catch a bus when I could have just waited... Other than that one odd suggestion, the app has worked accurately and consistently. Never had an issue with the displayed schedule.
It was working really well before. Have had it for over a year. I was so happy to have find an app like this. But nowadays it doesn't load, it shows unnessessary difficult ways to get from one place to the next. The loading of a trip takes so long my phone goes into sleep mode. The buses that are suppose to come sometimes "disappear" and then the next one will be 20-45 minutes away.
The simple route I found on Google Transit with 1 transfer between UP Express and the Subway does not appear in the app. Instead, the routes in the app are longer and have 3-4 transfers from UP, Subway, and multiple buses. Even when I selected least transfers. When I went to give feedback in the app the page reset and what I had typed in was lost.
It keeps crashing each time I try to use it. I have downloaded and reinstalled several and it's up to date.
Decent app for commuting in the GTA, especially between various transit systems such as Brampton transit, miway and the TTC. This app gives me better routes than Google Maps. Downside is the battery drain on the app. It eats away at your battery extremely quickly, ESPECIALLY if you "follow" your trip. Make sure you charge before you go or bring a portable charger.
App is so slow on my Galaxy S9 when searching for stops and planning new trips. Slowest Google app that I've ever used. It's a good app otherwise because it does what it's supposed to and I can save my favourite trips but way too slow for new searches. I might as well just use the website instead of the app if I'm in a rush and planning a trip not in my favourites.
Not very accurate for my area (Waterloo-Kitchener-Cambridge Region) missing routes, options, times...too bad...going to use Google Maps from now on...
I've been using Triplinx for a few years and it works very well! However, as of the most recent update, it seems that planning a trip gives you a series of connections that are very out of the way. I would be cautious if you are to download it in the state it's in, but once fixed it should do its job pretty well!
UPDATE: 5 STARS AGAIN. ISSUE FIXED! I originally put this as 5 stars because it worked great! Now it keeps crashing when I try and type in my go to location. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall and it still doesn't work. There are no updates for this app to fix this issue. I've send feedback when it closes but nothing has been fixed. I will use another app for trip planning now. Should you fix this issue I will put the 5 star rating back.
This is a wonderful app. Very helpful. But it crashes constantly, and whenever I click the "follow trip" button it fails immediately. Also, do you think you can add the number of bus stops? That would make it much easier to navigate.
App was working fine at first. Loved how it told you the amount of Presto card fair it would cost for each trip more accurately then google maps even. Now for some reason it won't save trips so about 5 mins into my bus ride an error message will pop up saying "Trip could not be saved." I'm considering deleting this app off of my phone because this is anoying and useless; I really liked the app before because it gave the most useful trips and worked for all over the GTA. Please fix if you can dev
I am new to Canada and this app helps me to navigate to places using the public transport system such as train, bus, etc. Initially, I had trust issues and was not relying on it thoroughly but after I learnt two lessons (missed a bus and missed a stop), I learnt to "surrender". This is your "go-to" app on public transportation in GTA. The accuracy is top notch.
The previous MiWay app was good, this is terrible. People don't need an app for full routes to their destinations, we already have Google Maps!!! We do need bus schedules and accurate bus locations, as well as the ability to change route directions.
Gives additional transit info you don't get on Google and Bing Maps. However, this is still an annoyingly buggy app for a transit company. Stop names don't display in full when it's long. It'll display something like "Lawrence Ave at" when it should maybe display "Lawrence Ave at Sherbourne Road". The name is cut off and there's no ability to scroll sideways. This is stupid. There's no show my position icon. Also, the app fails to follow my trip when I lock after a few minutes.
Live update would be great and I don't seem to have that even when signed in. Some of UI is not intuitive. Certain symbols are not clearly explained. My train was behind schexuel today by about 8 min and nothing reported on app.
Constantly crashes can't print off the website. Worst app so far I've ever used. Although does give good routes for the 3 seconds I'm allowed to see it before it crashes.
Its like taking a trip to apps in 2006. There is little logic in how the UI displays results from searches and then everything else goes down the drain after that. It feels like a disorganized spread sheet.
It's accurate, and especially useful across multiple transit systems. But at times it is maddeningly hard to input starting and ending points for a search and get the app to accept and use them.
Just got an update to Android 9 on my LG G7 ThinQ and now this app will not open. It flashes an error screen but it disappears before I can read it. Please address as it wasn't a problem on this phone when running Android 8.0. UPDATE: reinstalling the app was required to get it working again.
The app is reliable for planning trips. I can see in real time if a vehicle is delayed. It's great that I can compare cost for different journey options as well, but this is not available for all trips.
I don't have problems adding my favorite routes, or putting directions to certain spots. What was annoying was this app crashed continuously while trying to add my personal information. Thus, I was forced to uninstall it from my smartphone.
This app gives you all the transportation options in a user friendly format. Planning a trip to and from a place is straightforward and the live tracking works most of the time. Some problems: manuevering the map portion when viewing your trip line is a cumbersome task, sometimes it tells you a bus isn't coming or changes to "not coming" when the bus is coming. Sometimes it gets the arrival times wrong. Even tho they make no gurantee of accuracy, I've still been inconvenienced. Overall good app
