Truecaller: Caller ID & Dialer

update: I guess that instead of fixing the call recording you just decided to remove this function?? And the worst part is you did so without notifying your clients!! People use call recording for important things, and to find out it didn't work for a while (when trying to find a recording) is probably the worst thing you could have caused. If there was a -5 star review option, you would deserve it! As a long time user of the app I was very happy to see the call recording feature added, and when it works it does a nice enough job. Unfortunately, that happens really rarely! After a call or 2 the Automatic call recording is no longer functioning, and although the button for recording is there, pushing it does nothing at all! The only thing that works is in the app settings turning the recording and the auto recording off and on again. and still, it works only for a call or 2. This low quality QA is really disappointing. hope you fix it soon.

Fails to send texts all the time, and then doesn't tell you. Won't even retry on it's own. All you have to do is tap the message to resend it, but what good is that if you didn't even know it didn't send? Why can't the app retry on it's own? This is a nightmare when you compound the apps problems handling group texts, which can't be resent. Blocking spam or unknown texts is only available with premium. In a way, this is an upgrade for me, but I'll have to try something else.

Although the app itself is good in many ways like identifying spams, still, there are a lot to fix. The first one being the optimisation of this app is horrible, it keeps lagging even on mid range devices and very hard to use in urgent situation. The second is that i cannot find the option in the accessibility menu which is needed to enable call recording. I don't know whether this is because of some policy restrictions but i really need to clarify on this

The journey with truecaller has been great for all the feature packed app. But in last few months I have been really getting second thought about it where should I continue with it or should I just delete it. Turns out my caller id is automatically disabled and not able to turn it on through your own troubleshooting steps and dont get me started on the ads. I know its a free app but that has to be also reasonable. Please help me how to get the caller id turn on.

I love(D) this app, before it started blocking my MMS messages. I can send, but not receive group texts or pictures via MMS. I had to factory reset my phone to get it working again, just to reinstall the app and have the problem all over again. I don't know what changed, but this is unacceptable.

Not user friendly. The whole interface is complicated. Mixing the call records and the message records together make is hard to find what you want. Even on call records, there is need to separate missed calls from received calls and dialed calls. Possible, have a different icon for messages. I still have to go to my default call and message app to easily find things easily. Updated Previous review attended to. Thanks 👍 for that. Restored messages not on phone inbox but on the app only.

Downgraded from 2 to 1 stars. Never stops trying to sell you more stuff. Database of phone numbers is the only real thing of value here, and it's far from perfect. Horrible user interface. Weak settings flexibility. Repeatedly pesters you to turn on features you don't want, or to buy "Gold" even after you paid the $30 USD for an annual subscription. I hope a better option from a competitor exists when my renewal comes around.

Solid App for Record Calls. VERY IMPORTANT, TC has been forced by google to remove call recording as of May 11. So if you want to keep it don't update. I have a Samsung S22+. Volume of the other party is low but it works. Doesn't work with Bluetooth but that can't be changed. Reviews bagging non recorded calls, you may find call is recorded but you have to look in My Files under audio to find it. Sometimes their visually missing from Truecaller App but they are there. Great App guys

Update*** Started using it again recently because of annoying spam but only catch is to block private no.s you have to use it as a default app and it's so difficult to use compared to the old school dialer. Can't scroll quickly on the contacts screen. Calls ringing in the background most of the time I have to unlock my phone and click on the app to see who's calling.

Some time is works and most of the time it does not. When a call comes in from an unknown number I have to keep my fingers crossed and wait for good 15-20 seconds to see if the True Caller is popping up the display about who is calling but most of the time it does not and I end up picking calls which can be avoided if I could see the display in time. Pathetic app.

Previously, I had given this five stars. Docking THREE stars because the app is deteriorating over time. I'm unable to receive and view MMS, unable to send them. I dislike that their idea of blocking unwanted callers is to dismiss the ringer notification onscreen, but my watch is still vibrating like mad at an incoming call. It's also great when I name something, and someone else's remote rename stomps all over what I know the number to be. Paying yearly for the app, I expected better, but I'm just receiving disappointment. As much as I hate the default messenger from Samsung, it does a better job of handling how I use my phone. I may keep it as a dialer for now, but I'm done not being able to receive messages from friends.

Very helpful app. Big snag is the very slow screen refresh speed when using the app's keypad to dial a number. You click the phone icon to start dialling a number/access the call log - but the screen that displays is an old call log - it takes a good few seconds to update with the latest calls. It gets frustrating when you click a number/name to call it, then the screen refreshes and it starts dialling a different number because the number you actually wanted to dial has now moved down the list. If the app's call logs/screens refreshed faster, this app would definitely be worth 5 starts

I am taking one of my stars because, if truecaller is going to be the default calling app, there must be a dedicated shortcut directly to the dialer. Whenever I am trying to make a quick call, I have to visit the app and be searching for the dialer. There are even shortcuts for contacts and text messaging but none for dialer. Also, you should be able to paste numbers from the clipboard when attempting to dial. Right now you have to start dialing before you would see a space to paste numbers.

Some features that are shown are not accurate one feature that caught my eye was being able to set 3 different greetings that a caller would see when you call a contact I called 2 different contacts and there was no greeting showing when I called a contact, I do not like that all calls that come in are not separated there together (business,personal or scam) however I do Love the emoji's, the app it self is ok but would be better without any glitches.... maybe in the future I'll try it again...

Worse app I have ever used. I couldn't even get pass the verification part. I got the notification for verification code but i didn't receive any. I tried uninstalling and installing again after but in the end, it gave me the notification that i have exceeded(?) the maximum number of times allowed when the previous one time was a glitch? All in all, a horrible not user friendly app.

Truecaller is a very good app, which I recommend for every smartphone user. I would have given you a 5 Star rating, but because high price of the yearly subscription, hence I am appealing to the developer to come down with the price of the premium version of the app. This may inspire me to go for the Premium version of the app as the app's license will be renewed yearly. Or is the Premium version purchased for life without renewal of license? Thanks for your response.

Has been great so far at blocking calls and helping identify scam callers. But it seems to hang up on phone calls when I press the power button. Really, I just want to turn off the phone screen, but then it hangs up the phone. Turn that feature off please. Power button shouldn't hang up the phone!! I will change rating to 5, if this is fixed. Great app otherwise!!

Would give app higher rating but it stopped sending mms picture messages and group messages. It has a chat button that says not available when you select it. I can send these items by going to other apps to do so. I have reached out to Truecaller and they asked if I could send from other apps and send them a screen shot. I told them I could and sent screen shot and never received a response and my case was closed. I have tried to uninstall it and reinstall it multiple times & doesn't work.

Great experience using this app.it simplify the identification of callers. I've have recently changed my phone and the call record option cannot be found on the truecaller app.what may be the reason. Still call recording is not working,you only hear your voice and can't hear the other person. Do something about it or some of us will change our minds.

1) The app does not "block" calls, it just silences the ringer, obviously false advertising. This is a violation of Google Play Store Policy as they are claiming to block calls but only silences it. 2) This app no longer allows you to filter out blocked calls from your call list, very bad design change as it allows the ability to tap on and call automatically. 3) I will not be renewing my yearly subscription if they do not allow me to filter out blocked calls by the time my renewal is due.

Bitter Sweet: I mainly opted for this app for Call Record which seems to be an on-off debate at Truecaller HQ that concidentally matches my payment cycle i.e. when my contract is near expiry (& I'd notified them I was cancelling for the same reason) it works -6/10 times. Even when it says "ON", files be missing. When I make pay, the feature dissappears from the app. LOL! I'm done. Unfortunately I left auto-renew so they got another year &their refund process isn't straight-forward. Sucks!!

Great app, used it for many years on many devices. As of alte though I can't search in true caller for someone's name. Example: if I search in truecaller for someone who called me the day before but can't remember his number and don't have him as a contact then I used to be able to search for "Brian" for example and then his truecaller name would come up and I could phone him back. Which for me is the most important feature of the app, is this a new privacy update or what's the story?

I was using a free version of true caller and thought after getting a paid version would get better features, so took a 1 year subscription, but absolutely disappointed. I am still not getting 1. Caller ID not detected in most of the calls after waiting for 15 + secs. 2. Search of number from call history by name not available, instead it searches from only contacts, which has no sense. Paid version was taken by me mainly to get above 2 features. If not sorted then paid version is useless

The caller id part of the app is good. But the other new features are so intrusive! I have paid for a pro version of truecaller and yet every single day I get atleast 2 notifications to make it my default calling app even after I have cancelled it time and again. Club that up with the irritating notification of recording a video caller ID before making calls!! 5 stars for the good caller ID. -3 for the policy of pushing intrusive notifications.

From past few months Truecaller is acting like a bloatware. First it disabled caller ID and forcing me to me use Truecaller as default caller app to enable caller ID.. Recently, it also disabled block feature and the same reason use Truecaller as default app. I don't know why they are doing it, maybe need to check changes in Google policy. P.S. 24*7 notification to set Truecaller as default app (can be disabled).

It's okay inguess but Noone I know has it so maybe of the things that would be cool aren't even available to me. Not being able to move the call Button at the bottom of text messages is really annoying is really annoying and not being able to delete a call also annoying is annoying. If I could get my money back I definitely would because because it doesn't do a whole lot and my factory dialer didn't

I use it once in a blue moon. I'm suspicious that it refused to work without my contacts & phone permissions, even for manual number lookup. Why force contacts if you're not collecting it? I have disabled pop-ups & notifications through system settings & inside the app. It still serves heads up notifications & popup boxes randomly after calls. I'm sure it malicious design & circumventing the offical permissions. I'm pretty sure it violates play store policies. You say one thing, & do another.

There was a feature that you don't need to save the contact number. You can simply just search by the names and call and connect. Now I don't know y they removed the feature and only shows contact from my saved contact list. You need to search back and scroll back to find the dialed number,even if you remember the Truecaller name. Even the call history also gets auto deleted. Y do I pay and install a secondary app, if it does the same thing which my mobile dialer do? Simply disgusting.

I'd love if there's a minimalist version of the app that does only one thing and that alone: recognize phone numbers. This current version that tries to take over your call/sms functions is too invasive and it comes with too many features dragging for your attention.

Good for identifying unsaved numbers quickly when they call. But it's slow to open and also for incoming calls. The phone can ring about 3-5 seconds before it will appear. Please remove the pop-up notification - (it always ask you to add or invite the caller to True caller) that appears after a call.
