UltraSound Detector

UltraSound Detector is the App that allows you to detect ultrasound (ultrasonic) acoustic signals above the user-defined frequency (above 18 KHz by default).
This detector can be useful in following cases:

To check out the work-ability of various numbers of Ultrasonic electronic pest and insect repellent devices as well as any ultrasound emission devices if they work in the appropriate frequency range.

To locate the leak detection in air condition and refrigeration systems. You are probably familiar with the hissing sound a large leak makes. Smaller leaks also emit sound, however the frequency is too high for our ears to detect it. An ultrasonic leak detector lets the ultrasonic hissing sound be detected. Some leaks can be detected from several feet away, therefore access to the leak is not always necessary.

To detect the presence of Ultrasonic Cross-Device Tracking technology in some public places. The technology embeds high-frequency tones that are inaudible to humans in advertisements, web pages, and even physical locations like retail stores. These "ultrasonic beacons" emit their audio sequences with speakers, and almost any device microphone—like those accessed by an app on a smartphone or tablet—can detect the signal and start to put together a picture of what ads you've seen, what sites you've perused, and even where you've been.

To find out the voice to skull devices (V2K technology). This device is a weapon use for transmitting voices with low or high frequencies. Voices can be for commands or harassment attacks that may look like the target individual's own voice. Voice to skull technology is sometimes referred to as “synthetic telepathy.”

To detect some kind of ultrasonic weapons, that cause physical pain without human detection.

To check out the quality of tremble sounds (high frequency) of your loudspeakers.

Result of detection can be shown on the screen in the foreground mode and also be presented in the notification form and (or) by sound (vibration) in the background mode when the screen of the Android device is turned off. The upper working frequency is depend on the audio specification of the current Android device and can be reached up to 150 KHz if the external ultrasound microphone or sensor is used. Nevertheless, the internal microphone also can be used to determine the ultrasound signal but sensitivity and the upper frequency will be worse depending on the quality of the internal microphone.
Moreover, the App is using an oversampling feature. So, you can see for example 25 KHz ultrasound even if your device digitizes only 22 KHz audio (44 KHz sample rate).

Features.

Completely NO ads.

The signal level indication.

Vibration indication of the alarm event.

Event log is recorded automatically. Signal spectrum and location information can be included.

The converter ultrasonic signals into audible sounds. So you can hear ultrasonic signals.

Background mode with notifications. Once this option starts, the App runs quietly in the background and requires no human interaction until the alarm event happens. It continues to run even after the device reboots.

Adjustable battery consumption in the background mode. The App is designed to conserve your device battery and allows to select the data update rate. The more update rate time, the less battery it takes.

Comprehensive spectrum analysis with different ways to display results: spectrum, waterfall, oscilloscope.

Adjustable frequency range and selectable frequency resolution between 2.5 and 50 Hz.

Very impressive app. I downloaded it for leak detection. Unfortunately under the last tab - Transfer / Ultrasonic to Audible Sound - although the on/off switch is working, it don't keep the ON state after coming back to other tab, i.e. Signal. Phone LG V20. I cannot use the app for the leak detection, being interested in using a headset for hearing heterodyned ultrasonic spectrum into the audible one. Am I doing something wrong... I have some suggestions for a professional and paid app form.

The app has a lot of grammatical errors in it. I'd suggest fixing that so that it doesn't make the app look less credible. People are less likely to trust the legitimacy of an app if there are numerous spelling and grammar errors present in its menus. If English isn't your first language, might I suggest collaborating with a native speaker to proof read all of your text for the description pages of your apps as well as any texts within the apps? Otherwise, the app itself is good.

Skeptical at first... Until I tested it with a sig. gen. It works! I've only been able to send u.sound frequencies up to 20kHz but this astonishing app detected them to an accuracy of 0.2kHz. Now my sig. gen. was only 20cm away from my phone so I'll have to test it at greater distances. Very impressed indeed!

I had an annoying high-pitched sound in my bedroom. With the "spectrum" part on the "signal" tab, I was able to isolate it at 19.3kHz. I moved my phone around to see where it was emitted from and I found the source! Thank you!

Really neat app that works well. I love the "transfer" tab. I would like it even more if it has a "reccord" button to reccord the sound that comes from the "transfer to audible sound" tab. Thank you

People are complaining but the thing is free and does the job. What more do you want? So there's some grammatical errors big deal. One *bit* of instruction code incorrect and this thing would not function properly. There is absolutely no ads and no begging I really like that! Good work developer!!😎

It does Work, i used this app to test an ultrasonic rat repellent i bought from amazon, because rats made the car engine there home to stay warm, i noticed food bones and nesting materials in the engine area, after i bought the ultrasonic repellent no more food bones or nesting materials. But was curious if there were a way to test ultrasonic sounds, and thanks to the developer of this app, there is. Must be a genius to create such an app that detects ultrasounds, Thank you :)

Works well I readjusted it and tested it with a high frequency player. My only problem is that the Log doesn't work and it seems when I put it in the background I never see what khz were caught...wish it logged time & khz to txt file

Very feature-rich application. I use it daily with very little battery drain. Only wish I could narrow the frequency range better.

My young sons were hearing a very high-pitched sound on my desk. Using this app we discovered that the source was a backup drive sitting on my desk. Great app.

For those who are interested in science exploration. Neat app. Limits are due to device hardware. Can detect sounds humans generally can't hear.

It appears to be very sensitive and picks up frequency and loudness. I think it is well done. I still have tests for it though. So far 5 stars.

This actually worked. I installed 6 spectrum analyzers before this. Only one allowed to scan > 48khz and for unknown reasons didn't pick my ultrasonic toothbrush. This one did.

I had bought an ultrasonic mosquito repeller but could not tell whether it really emits ultrasound, until I installed this app. Really brilliant. Thanks.

Alot of ultrasound and high pitch sound is totally unnoticed until I got the app. Now I got interested. Good work. S. P.

Thank you for your excellent app - it was most useful for testing an ultrasound device I thought was not working.

Works well but still cannot determine source of sound in my home. Christian Pedersen left previous review stating he found it. Would love to know what that was!

Not sure what this is intended for but I wasn't able to make use of it for locating air leaks.

Mik. J. Apr 10, 2020

Says it can detect up to 150 khz, but won't go past 21.5 khz. Trying to detect dog whistle.

ZIG. Oct 7, 2021

Idk why, somehow it can't catch frequency above 13khz, Idk if my mic can't catch up. Also the fresh rate is somehow idk. Anyway, nice gui.

Helped me identify that I was being exposed to someone secretly blasting high ultra and infra sound noise at me, definitely a life saver.

Very cool, thank you for your hard work! I would the ability to zoom in on the waterfall.

Have rated this app more than 1 year ago. It is still 5 stars. Great for noise harassment cases.
