It used to work fine, but now one of my child's text log only shows incoming texts, but does not log all outgoing texts. Support told me to remove the phone and then add it back, but that didn't help. Not worth the 4.99 if it doesn't work. And support has been 'working on it' for awhile.
Useless. My granddaughter found workarounds and ways around every aspect of the companion app, including complete uninstall. She then demonstrated her methods to me. As an IT guy, I had serious doubts this app would work for anyone over 10. It doesn't. Don't waste your money.
Why is my child able to control the app on their phone? She is constantly being sent notifications which allow her to turn the features off. She is able to uninstall the app or disable features. She's been able to add whatever contacts she wants to, when I am supposed to be able to restrict contacts. What is the point of the kids plan and the app if none of it works properly? And then Verizon has the nerve to TEXT me about it and allow me to "request" via text to my child that she puts it back.
The app acts like it works, but time and app restrictions simply don't work. For instance: Snapchat can be accessed and fully used no matter matter what. Support is also nonexistent. I've been waiting for a response about this issue for over two months.
This app is not what is is cracked up to be. The child can switch to VPN and then the app doesn't monitor anything and doesn't let the parent about it. Apple text messages don't show up in the call/text section. The child can shut off features and IF a message is sent to parent, to turn it back on the child has to accept it. I am purchasing this feature, I should be able to control all this from my phone and the child should not have the ability to do anything from theirs.
Sucks. No option to limit total daily minutes. Can only set on and off time. And even that is a fail. If they switch to wifi only, the phone keeps working. Location is OK at best. The map will regularly say a location 'within 500 yards,' or some other ridiculous range. If you had to get to your kid fast, a 500 yard radius Is huge. F verizon.
This app offers a false sense of security. My husband and I tested it and it does NOT log all websites visited or apps used, in fact it shows very little in terms of search history and sites visited. Verizon is shamelessly fleecing and misleading their customers.
This app has been getting progressively worse with each update. The map now no longer shows any buildings to pinpoint a family member. I was told by support that this feature was removed. So yeah, took away a useful feature. Stupid. I also now receive 20 alerts saying a family member left a saved location when in reality, they haven't moved at all. I can't believe I'm still paying for this. Might be time to drop this monthly waste of $$
Needs a lot of work, you can add time restrictions for when they're in school but once they're set you cannot disable or remove, just modify. That is so stupid, so even if schools out for the summer your k8ds phone will still need to lock up for hours. Going to t mobile, Verizon sucks.
Always disconnects from my kids phone constantly and if they aren't with me I can't reconnect. Also it will say it's connected when it isn't. Worst app I've ever used.
A really good app but you can't add emails. A lot of my kid's friends have iCloud emails and I can't add them. That is the only issue with this app
Horrible app. Not worth the money at all. Update 3/18/2022- I put in a tech ticket since the mapping got even worse, I couldn't see any details like I had been before when I first started paying for this app along with my Verizon service. Nothing changed, nothing got better. I literally just yesterday ended ALL my services with Verizon. I went to T-mobile.
Need daily limits. The app allows you to set a schedule of when children can or cannot be on their device. But it doesn't let you said a daily limit, i.e. 2 hours a day. This is a basic feature and surprised to learn it is lacking.
Works some time. Alerts do not accurately coincide with the paired phone. Each line I have covered has different issues. Support just says to pair the phone for better accuracy, but all phones have been paired. There's no solution given. When it's working, it's great, but more problems than not.
I love this app when paired with the companion app on an Android phone. I find it nearly useless when the companion app is on an iPhone. Apple doesn't allow the same level of control, so I've had to abandon the app and use other monitoring apps instead, and the iPhone's built-in parental controls, which can't be controlled remotely.
I have several times tried to put this on a Moto Z3, the same that I have. I have talked to support 4 different times being told that it would be escalated and someone would call back to try and fix the issue once they resolved on their side. I have yet to get a call and that it's been a month. No I'm not calling back since they can't seem to get it together. I am very unhappy that there has been no communication past first level.
Nothing works right! We have uninstalled and reinstalled this app so many times it's unreal. The location NEVER works... she can be standing in front of me and it will tell me she's over 1200 yards away. It doesn't block the apps I tell it to. This app has actually caused fights between us because it tells me she's not where she should be and then I see with my own eyes she is... and I PAY for this!! I've tried submitting a request through My Verizon and that won't work either.
Good overall. I wish I could add tags / names to the 20 contact list. I don't know who is who. Also wish I could see the texts instead of it just saying inbound/outbound text.
Love it. We travel so it is great to keep an eye on the other during those long trips. No annoying calls & texts while driving. The spouse can just look it up. As long as your with your phone. It has been a life saver in the past. Car accident and we could get help fast.
This app was great at first but it sucks now. As the parent number it won't me put in half the trusted numbers so I have brother's that cannot talk to each other. It also changes the settings from what I set. If it wasn't for being able to track them and see where they are I would get rid of it.
This app used to work well, but recently, doesn't work at all. The only thing working is the driving report and location is close enough. But considering getting another cheaper app for that, as I can't control data or app usage any more
The idea of this app is wonderful, however use is the worst experience possible. Companion will not connect on my child's device, my app says it's not connected and won't sync. Par for the course for VZW. Overpromise, underdeliver.
Terrible. Kids can easily disable the app on their phone. It may show where they are, but any restrictions the parent puts on them don't work. YES, VERIZON I HAVE PAIRED IT AND ITS UPDATED.
Every time this has to update it disconnects from my child's phone. If I am with him and am thinking about it that wouldn't be a problem. The problem is when I'm not with him, am not thinking about this application when I do see him, and then open the application later to see that I can't do anything until I see him again.
This app has been more of an issue than it has been helpful. WHEN it shows location it is FAR FROM ACCURATE and is so delayed for updates it's ridiculous. Will be looking for something different VERY SOON.
What exactly is the point of this if the kids can delete it, tracking isn't correct and location notifications tell you the wrong thing, doesn't pause internet
Verizon is good but it tries to hard to make things easier, but actually only makes things even worse. And most of these smart apps that they have, they are usually confusing or hard to understand.
Pretty bad app, but so are all the competitors, from what I can tell. Doesn't send texts to pair up the companion app. Fails to block apps. The whole gambit of failures. Unfortunately bark, mm guardian, and net nanny also have bad reviews.
This app is getting worse over time, not better. 1.3 mile radius, seriously. $9.99 a month to not be able to locate the other person. SMH
App is trash. Can't believe I paid for the service as long as I did. Not enough options/features and the ones rhey have rarely worked correctly. Also, the kids could turn it off from their companion app. Totally useless. Trying google family link and I think it will work better and is FREE. Used to use mmguardian and it was great (but had TOO much access/invaded teens privacy more than I liked)
