This is a flexible app that allows repositioning of camera for watching movies and screen locking. Opportunities for improvement: 1. It seems animated GIFs are not supported at least on Android 10. 2. From a usability perspective, when selecting screen, video type, and projection type before watching a video, it would be half the phone presses if all options were available on buttons instead of having to first press to open each dropdown menu.
Excellent for viewing 2D and 3D video files. I trawled the store trying to find one that would let me watch 2D videos through my 3d goggles and also played sound on a particular file that several others weren't able to (they were just silent) - only VLC and VRTV played it successfully. Controls and settings all good and allows a plain black background, which is all I ever want as I find the environments distracting.
Used to be the best vr theater app available but it's been self exiting play back within a few minutes of starting a new video for months now which renders it completely useless. I've had to go back to using other apps which is a pity since this was a better choice before it bugged out. It has been months but I'll keep it on my phone and hope for an update somewhere down the line since I paid for it...
Most of the videos I play end up severly pixelated, choppy, or freeze completely; then the app will freeze half the time, and that's even with quite a few lower quality vr vids. My phone can handle the videos too (I have a galaxy s8+) because it can view most high quality VR videos on Deovr just fine, I was just looking to be abke to view a couole of file types that Deovr can't. It makes videos completely unwatchable. I regret not trying the free version first.
When the app is set to open in vr mode, the vr UI menu does not show. Renders this option useless, which is a shame because it's one of the most important features this app could have. Otherwise good. Haven't had any format issues yet. Dark mode would be great. Hoping for updates so I can recommend this to the VR community and raise my rating.
The newest update has rendered this app useless on huawei mate 9. No matter which combination of video settings I use, it is only a black screen. Audio works fine. Not sure why you'd change the video playback in a way that would render it useless. Regret paying for this app now. Hopefully an update fixes this and I will change my rating if it becomes usable again EDIT: App is fully functional again, thank you for the speedy update. Rating has been changed to correctly assess this app. 5/5
No updates. If your upgrade your mobile, you'll most likely lose some features. It doesn't support usb drive on my Xperia 1 iii. That forced me to move on to another app. Shame really, as VRTV VR was great look my previous devices.
After using this player for quite a while here's my review. This app is good it plays most videos most of the time. The floating ui when playing videos is good. The only problem I've noticed is that some videos labeled 2160P, 8000k don't play properly. While they work fine in vlc. I hope the developer fixes it with time. My phone is honor play (kirin 970) running android pie.
Good but doesn't seem to trigger vr mode properly anymore. I hadn't used it in a long time and was disappointed to find somewhere along the line that it no longer properly sets the screen into low persistence vr mode. This means motion blur is quite bad.
Almost perfect but it needs a setting to turn off the tap the screen to calibrate feature, the daydream and a few other headsets have soft buttons in them that rest on the screen and register as a tap every so often, it's constantly re centering the video when I try to look around.
Best VR video player available. The VR UI for navigation works really well. Latest update broke video type/shape/format auto detection from file names in some situations. Especially when skipping to next or previous videos. But sure it will be fixed soon
Great app for streaming from a local server. Connected to my Nas with no issues and works perfectly for everything I have tried. After trying a dozen or so apps, I finally found one that works and works well.
What difference is there between a paid and an unpaid one other than the one with ads. Can all the files be in a 'newest to oldest order' (i.e. sort by date) in the purchased app. There should be a lot of upgrades to be done to this app since it is not up to standard.
So far this is by far my favorite app but it would be nice to have other Theater environments, for a better Cinema experience as well as other environments. Because i can program my remote and the ease of functions using the eye or remote This app is superb in my opinion and I rate it 5 stars
Constantly prompts for network credentials. Unusable for me. Username and password are correct, but it prompts every time for every folder. Used to work great. Sad I paid money for this.
Probably the best VR Player available giving quality video with different formats, user controls and performance. Tried many others but they miss one or more needed functions for a great experience. Well worth the price!
Good vr player, support all 3d vr and normal 2d mode too. One hiccup, it still can't handle samba share seamlessly. Sometimes it works just fine, other times it's not. Using android 9 over miui 11 here. Local player work perfectly. Hope it fixed soon.
Was amazing till the update broke it. Anytime you put in a stream url it autocloses instantly with any type of file format I have tried. There's nothing else out here that worked as good as it used to.
The best vr media player on the app store ATM. But whenever the vr environment is on theater or on none, any video I play will back out in about 10 minutes. On the cave mode and the living room it works flawlessly without any hiccups.
It used to be the best but right now it doesn't resume the saved settings anymore during VR mode and also when you try to resize the screen in VR mode, the movie becomes distorted.
Guys this is the actual vr app, u are looking for..... Just buy an economical vr box and this app will make it worth.... It actually gives you the taste of high end vr boxes like oculus....my experience has been great, because it has all sorts of customisations, even subtitles support, screen lock is there. I m just holding back 1 star for no cinema hall virtual background, kindly add a cinema hall and some other environments vr team. You will Rock!!!
A great app. Honestly the best VR media player I have used. I highly recommend purchasing this app because it is much more refined and feature packed as opposed to most of its competitors. I would like to highlight some of the issues I faced and it would be great if these were rectified. 1. The resume playback function doesn't work consistently. I did not have this issue with the free version, but somehow this is frequently happening with the paid version. 2. Once I exit the app after a session, the phone fails to completely come out of DnD mode. A lot of the notifications are still muted and there are DnD glitches visible in the sound settings occasionally. The only way to fix this so far is to restart the phone. I am using a Galaxy Note 8.
