Without a doubt my most used app, I use it every day for calls, messages and group chats. However, I got a new phone. I backed up all my chats on the old phone as instructed. Downloaded the app on the new phone, added my number, which hasn't changed, clicked restore for all backed up messages and... Nothing! Everything is lost. This is a huge problem and needs addressing. What is the point of having a back up function if it does not work?!

I love it. This is my default messenger. I rarely use other messengers like Discord, Telegram and WeChat. It basically gets the job done. When I want to send a text, it sends the text instantaneously. When I want to share content, it does the job. If I may suggest, please let us share the full quality of photos and videos🙏 Each time I take a photo with high dynamic range and good details, Whatsapp just reduces the quality and makes it look like a photo taken with a midrange phone camera.

Not always a great experience, but most of the time it is a helpful app, especially that it has the desktop extension. It has some issues with the server connection, not always real-time and some days even crushing when opening certain profiles. I keep it up to date and I'm backing up history, but even so, it still has some bugs. Yet I consider it highly useful. Therefore I will always give, for as long as it keeps beeing ads free and costs free, all the deserved 5 stars, against all odds.

The fact that backup can only be done at 2am is nonsense. And automatically reducing quality of pictures and videos is alarming. Most importantly, the fact that pictures or videos can not be organized into folder or album turns me off the most when trying to post on my status....Like I will have to go down down whenever I want to select a picture/video I had probably taken months or years before....It wastes a lot of time....You need to do better. Nevertheless, it's not entirely bad.

Overall this is a great messaging system. My complaint is with the support available for users. We recently tried to update our phones and the installation of WhatsApp was interrupted. We transferred a local drive copy from the old phone to the new one via a PC. The app won't pick up the local drive copy of the messages in the phone. We contacted WhatsApp for support, not for our messages (because we have them) but for help on the transfer issue. It is very frustrating.

This app is really not user friendly. If you start typing a message and then have to click off that message, it saves the draft but it doesn't save it as the most recent message, so you have to go digging to find the conversation again. This is a pain when you are replying privately to a message originating from a group chat. I hate that I have to add people to my contacts list to send them a message. Update - you can caption before sending pics. Now two stars instead of one.

It had been fine and easy to use, but then sending videos stopped working properly since a few months back - no matter what the size of the video, it won't upload more than the first 11MBs, then it cuts off. This is terribly frustrating and annoying, as it makes sharing videos extremely difficult and offputting. Were it not for that it would be awesome - Please fix!

Who doesn't use whatsapp now a days? It's perfect. I just have 1 complain my "back up to Google drive" option doesn't work. Literally every morning at 3 am The Backing up notification comes up and it gets paused at a random % and just stays like that for hours. It has been happening for over a year. EVERYDAY! It was easy to ignore but not its just annoying.

It's a great app..way better way than viber. I would like to suggest if there could be improvement in trying to back to old messages 6 or 10 months or 1 year back very easily. What I mean is instead of scrolling up into old messages, there should be an easy way to go about doing that. I've been backing up all my messages, over 1 year back, and I find it annoying scrolling up to search for old messages on a particular day and month. Hope, this could be taken into consideration. Great app, works great, only one complaint, the backing up. Why is backing up so clunky. I've used this app on different phones but always the same issue of 98% backed up frozen progress. I'll have to cancel and backup manually for it to get done all the way. Please look into this auto backup up issue. Whether its the app or Google, you need to figure it out.

The export is completely misleading, only the last little bit of a conversation, no media, and no import! WhatsApp still takes file backups, but it seems that there is absolutely no actually import from this anymore when you change devices! I don't like that there is no way to restore deleted conversations.. they should stick around for a week or so, or better yet forever and just go to a deleted folder.

Awesome 👌 experience with what's app..There’s need to up the app in a situation where by you don't to clear everything. One should be able to go to where we have options for photos ,videos and documents and select all the pictures and videos that is not needed to delete at once. It will make it user friendly. But so far I am enjoying 😉 the app.

The widget is failing more than ever, and there are always problems when I want to make a chat backup. Besides, the "Search" tool has never worked properly, it's very slow and never finds anything. Ah, and the new version of WhatsApp Web is a DISASTER. At least you have to leave the option of keep using the old version, which is much faster than the new one.

Recently the message reaction feature has made the reply and selecting a particular message action very annoying. We've been unable to disable that feature and most of the times meaningless reactions are sent to important messages, one can get used to it with time and the fact that it can be avoided, but why provide a feature that can't be disbaled. My rating was higher but I'm going down to two stars because of this reason only. The app works wonders but such additions are just meaningless.

The app is mostly great and problem-free, but there ARE two ongoing issues: 1. Notifications usually work well, but then a few will suddenly pop up on "silent" for no reason, then inexplicably resume functioning correctly. (Clearing the cache & data, and uninstalling/reinstalling the app does not fix this problem.) 2. When a spam message comes in, there's NO way to block/report the sender WITHOUT opening their message. (This is especially distressing for anyone with Read Receipts enabled.)

It doesn't work that well with dual messenger on Samsung. Anyhow i do like the fact that when you delete a message it leaves behind a text box saying message deleted. Unlike Instagram and elsewhere, where there is no trace of any message being there in the first place. I feel more secure knowing that it's visible when someone deletes the message.

It's a very nice App and easy to use. Please work on the part that notifies the someone of deleted file or text and the view once too. It has to be a surprise else the recipient will take a screen recording before opening what you sent. And please include the number of times your status is being viewed by one particular person. Would definitely give this amazing app a 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This app is a great way to stay in contact with familys and friends that are overseas. However as of lately I am unable to send or share video medias. As an android user I'm not sure what to do. I have tried everything from what I have seen on YouTube but nothing works. As this point its becoming frustrating and annoying to keep getting this error message. Please look into it.

Although it comes in handy so much, compared to other apps like Telegram it has some annoying bugs, for example, when you join a group, you can't see all the previous messages which is a flaw, or to forward a message having a picture if you don't download the picture, you can't forward it or even by just using the forward symbol just picture is sent without the text, so you have to use the share botton instead of the easy use of the forward botton

It's a very good app for texting, but the only problem I have is the one with the view image or video once part. At least the recipient shouldn't know It's a view once option, otherwise he/she can screenshot or screen record. If it should be so, the the sender should see that the recipient has made a screenshot or screen recording just as in Snapchat.

This is a great text messaging, phone, and video calling replacement app. It supports group chat and full end to end encryption on all features. International texts and calls are all free, provided you have data. Be sure to go into settings and disable the permission that allows random strangers to add you to groups without your consent.

A great app for one to one conversations. Their audio and video options work well too. Although I hope in the near future they add an unsend option like Instagram and remove this delete for all thing which leaves behind a message box even after deleting. This kind of lets the other person know i have deleted something. It's inconvenient in many scenarios.

Uploading backup to google drive usually gets stuck and when you cancel and start it again, the backup size becomes bigger. That backup function is messed up. It needs improvements. This issue is there since ages and its highly doubting that there must be loopholes in that backup process because that's the only way to access the messages of someone since the messaging system is encrypted.

There's no chance (it's like that in many versions back) that you can edit a video with the result matching what's set in the editor. Everything works fine when you cut off the end of it, but the moment you touch the start marker - don't even hope to see whatever you marked. I decided to report it straight away after recent update, STILL having this error - version after version - like nobody cares.

There are 0 notifications unless you open the app. I've done ALL the troubleshooting. All the settings are as they should be, software is up to date. It was working until 3-4 days ago then notifications just stopped. No changes were made on my end. I had to uninstall because it started being glitchy, then reinstall and it's even worse now.

Voice recording was working and than suddenly stopped. I can receive voice notes but I can't send them. I have done all the troubleshooting with no success. No information online either about voice recording not functioning on Oppo phone. I have reduced my use of the app because of this as many of my conversations are primarily voice notes. All the updates and they haven't resolved it

I love the app and it serves an important purpose for me. The only issue I have is in the last year I've had the app hacked. I've done 2 step verification etc. They were posing as a contact and I chatted a while before I realized it wasn't my friend. I've recovered my account and want to block and report the numbers that were in my app. The only instructions refer to your contact and how to block them but they weren't contacts. I don't recognize the numbers at all. Blocking doesn't seem enough

Using the app is a great experience, I would have given a 5 star rating but there are some things that are lacking. A "pin status" option should be introduced and newly added people should be able to see previous messages in a group chat,there should also be a feature that allows you to continue listening to voice notes even while you're on other apps

Recently I have started to have issues with the voice notes. If I play any voice note, the screen goes blank and phone doesn't work until the complete voice note is played. I can not operate phone while voice note is playing. In a more recent incident, my phone froze and screen went completely blank for straight 10 minutes after playing a voice note. This only happens with the voice notes. WhatsApp needs to fix this bug ASAP!
