The game itself is fun, if a bit easier than some, but the ads are a major problem. Ad comes up. Ad plays. I watch, then attempt to go back to game. That usually does not happen. Sometimes the ads are stuck in a loop, sometimes a different ad comes on. At this point I turn the app off. If this continues, this app will be deleted.
It's good for what it does, the only problems I have encountered are that the game closes itself quite often, it's infuriating. The ads, some of the ads you can close after a few seconds but then there is ads that seem to take over a minute to show the X to close them and levels with the same letters pop up often enough, same letters to get the same words, it stops being a challenge when the answers repeat themselves on different levels.
It takes anywhere between 10-30 seconds for the game to transition from one screen to the next, and often crashes. Many ads don't have volume control and despite showing an option to exit an ad, the ad continues to play (this is one of the times the game crashes). When you are able to exit an ad, the audio continues while the screen displays the next game. Audio and video are often out sync during game play as well. I've enjoyed the actual puzzle; glitches make it frustrating.
The game is good, but I have issues with the ads. Yes, I know the ads let us play the game for free, BUT, half of the time I can't mute them until the ads is almost over and then when I try to close the ad I have to close out three or four screens just to get back to the game.
My absolute favorite part of the game is when every time I finish a puzzle I have at least a solid minute of terrible ads that are nearly impossible to exit out of once they're finished. If only there were an app that only showed these ads and had no content aside from them, that would just be a real treat for everyone
It's a really fun game but there's annoying ads before every round, which discourages me from playing as much as I'd like. Don't fall for the misleading statement that implies if you allow targeted advertising they won't do as many ads - not true! And now there's no way I can find to switch my privacy settings back to not gathering info from my phone. It's a shame they're ruining a good game by their advertising policies. Update: They've eliminated the ads & have added extra features. 5 stars!
This game keeps coming up as unusual behavior.The adds are most of the time blank & are frozen Grey screen. I have to close out and start over. When you click on a game from an add it comes up as not safe. Nothing about this game seems safe with suspicious behavior from Norton security. I don't know if I got a bad update but if it doesn't get fixed it's getting Uninstalled. Not being using. Waiting to see if you can fix the security issues. In the meanwhile I guess I will look for a SAFER game
It was on a whim that I began to play this game, but the more I got into it, I was hooked! The graphics are very clear, excellent pictures, and enhance play. And having historic tidbits thrown in adds to the experience. It is an excellent mind/vocabu-lary exercise. Five stars. Downloaded it again, it's a good thinking game.
It's an addicting game but the FREAKING, ANNOYING ADS after each levels is ruining this game for me. I don't mind them short but 20-30 second ads? Really? I want to pay for free ads but I don't think your price is reasonable. I might uninstall soon if I get frustrated. Minimize the ads or lower the cost to have no ads. Don't be too greedy!
I cannot edit my original review. In the original, I described how some of the ads pop up with the volume blasting, even though the game is on silent. The developer responded and said I can put my phone in silent mode and it will not do that. I ran out of space so I didn't mention in the original review that my phone *was* on silent mode. It still has sound with some of the ads. I have to manually go into my sound settings and turn the media volume all the way down. It's ridiculous.
In the beginning it's lots of fun there's no ads and then when the ads do come you can't close them down they take forever! And the ads become annoying and if the game shuts down it opens up all kinds of other things pop up before you can actually play it so flipping an effing annoying I want to throw my phone! Deleting it from my phone I will never play this game again!
Half the time after I watch finish the adverts, the cross to close do not appear and I am unable to close the adverts. I had to waste time closing the app then reopen the app over and over again. Other than technical problem aside, the game is quite fun, good to play while whiling time away. It's not too difficult until it gets frustrating.
The game itself is quite interesting, but far too many ads. Ads on every level, except the first few. And you are forced to watch a certain length of the ads before being able to exit. The proportion of playing versus waiting for ads to end time just doesn't make it worth it. Would have continued playing if the ad proportion is more reasonable.
Heavy on the device, too many ads to playable in free mode. I know it has option to remove ads, but it pretty much forces you If you want to continue playing. Bad implementation imo. Ps. Thanks for taking the time to answer. It would really make a difference if the ads were less frequently.
It's a cool game but despite paying to remove the ads, I still get the ads popping up if I click on the wheel, and also after a while, you always get the same bunch of letters, so you end up recycling the same words. I've lost interest, even though I had made it over 100 games. And also it never looked like the picture in their Facebook ad.
Finally a game WITHOUT ads every 30-60 seconds. Thank you for making a game you can actually play without an ad following every move you make in the game. I have tried a few different games, very similar to this but have quit because I couldn't stand the ads! However, I am really enjoying this game. I find it relaxing and it gets your brain working.
I love the game. But with the last update, the game keeps crashing. When I enter, I get to spin the wheel. When done, it gives me the butterfly tournament results, but the screen is blank. When you exit these results, the whole game is frozen. I have tried everything, and I am so scared I will lose my progress. Otherwise, great game!
Downloaded because the ad made it look fun. However it wasn't the same game I thought I was downloading. Ad made it look like you had to clear the board making/finding words within boxes. As a word game player this was boring, way too easy and too much like other games with no uniqueness to it. Very disappointing. Uninstalled immediately
Fun and all, but at a certain point there is an ad after EVERY level. You hit the x to get out of it, add you have to sit through an ad for the ad. Sometimes you have to x out 3 times from "one" ad. So annoying. Not worth the purchase price to remove ads. Just annoying.
I love the game but the app takes time to load. To many ads, and annoying spin game that amounts to no points and then back to ads. It's hard to get to the actual game. In addition, you earn minimal points.
WAY too many commercials, and for the same games. Over and over. After every move. Common. Don't tell me how you need to do this. I call BS. Back off a little. Yes ad's are needed to keep it free but you overload the ads it's simply depressing.
The ads that pop up between levels are one thing, but the permanent ad demanding your attention from the bottom of the screen while playing each level just takes the joy out of this game. This game is unplayable while that permanent ad is there. That said, if you try to play this game offline, that box is replaced with one that angrily flashes that you are offline. So the developers lied when they listed this as an offline game. To me this justifies a one star rating on what could otherwise have
Addicting word game. For some reason it won't let me watch videos to increase rewards, but not too worried. Update: problem seemed to resolve itself after a phone reset. Started getting more ads than I cared for, so I paid to remove ads. Worth the cost as I thoroughly enjoy the game otherwise.
ITS A KEEPER. Just got it. So far I like it. Kind of addicting and makes you think. Levels for more difficulty would be a nice addition BUT *** I like that it's solveable and easy enough that beginners at word games (of all ages) will enjoy, keep playing and keep learning. Use also teaches logic in solving techniques. *** MY KIDS (from 8-16) ENJOY PLAYING and don't lose interest too quickly. It's good you need not be a word scholar to play and enjoy. For relaxing when I'm tired it's perfect.
Good, but there are ads after every level as well as banners. We understand the need for revenue, make the screen slightly smaller, have 2 banners that aren't so intrusive, and short video ads every 5th or 6th level. The levels aren't long enough to warrant a 5 or so second ad for 5 seconds of game play.
I'm sorry for this score, but this was truly a disappointing experience. The game went from perfect with a smooth game play ad-free and overall enjoyable to having to put up with unskipable ads at each level, having even an ad-free option appear out of nowhere. Really frustrating in the end. I don't mind ads, I know it's unavoidable with free to play games, I understand that that's how the developers can continue their work. But this was really a lot, and I mean a lot of ads.. I'm sorry :/
