The map itself is quite large (6480,3888), so it's way too big to fit in memory all at once (6480 x 3888 x 32 / 8) = 100,776,960 -
- over 96 megs. The VM heap size Android supports is eith 16 or 24 megs, so we can't fit the whole thing in memory at once.
So WorldMap uses the BitmapRegionDecoder API (available as of API 10) to decode just what it needs to display.

I don't want a quiz of the world neither do I want to plan a trip to Outer Mongolia. I just want a world map that shows me where countries are in relation to each other and this app does the job perfectly adequately.
I'm not a phone or computer person but I do like to look at the world map I like how easy it is to use I like to be able to pull up the roads and I like to be able to see the buildings the roads it's been very helpful even in the area which I live some of the functions I can't use very well but that's because I'm not a phone or computer savvy person other than that I think it's a good app
It was my best map for the last 3 years. However, it does not open on my new device running on Android 8. Kindly update ASAP.
Not too bad for getting a general idea of where things are but not enough detail and way too grainy of an image to be of much real use.
I really liked this app as it's the only one in top 10 without ads, it worked well on my lenovo vibe phone, but now I switched to honor 8x and the app crashes.
its nothing but just a "designed" pdf ... where u can zoom and see.. no info. no assistance no different version of maps nothing is there... just a waste
Useless app. It just displays a single bitmap picture of world map. No scaling, no objects, nothing.
It's good, easily accessible. But you need to work on zooming graphics.
This is amazing, I've always wanted to know more about geography. Only complaint is that the font is a little dark for being able to see.
It's hard to find an app that shows the globe. Such a good app you can scroll the globe to go to any country.😲
update and make it in line to newer versions of android. this app crashes and a msg prompts that it is designed for older versions. update
This is surely a map but why cant you zoom into continents to find countries and into countries to find states.
Bogus. Its just a dihitalized big image of the map with no search option or additional information.
They are showing wrong wrong boundaries of India. It's just disgusting app. Application quality is also bad.
i installed app in my phone but its faild to open it. i had use to with this app in past in my Samsung mobail experience was good at that time.

Decent, a map and nothing more. The countries and continents are sized to their proper dimensions however. Africa far outstrips Greenland for example. But aside from major cities and political boundaries, don't expect anything else from this app.
