I am a journalist and this EXCELLENT WONDERFUL APP is exactly what I needed. I can't express my joy of installing such tiny, efficient with lots of feature app. One thing is that, there is no option to delete all the written slots in one click.. We have to delete one by one. Even after we uninstall the app and again reinstall, it shows all the written matters which creates a load on the app and it becomes slow in opening and deleting oneby one.

Re previous review, it isn't crashing anymore. Right now, it's doing fine. But I want to suggest making backups no matter what the program, so things don't get lost. This is a good program if you just want simple text, not much formatting. My remaining problem is if part of document is centered & you try to delete something, everything under it is centered too. Earlier Review: used to be better - downloaded because it's simple but it crashes all the time now and loses last changes.

I've been using this app for years but recently I had to reset my phone. I backed up all of my apps. When it came to reinstall all of my apps - Writer did not. It only installed docs from several years ago and not the recent docs from 2019 to 2022. All of my other apps were successfully installed. Until I can retrieve the missing docs, I can't give it a good review. Other than that I would have given it a 5 star. I sent an email for help. I hope they reply soon. Important info there.

This app is very good. However, I find it annoying that whenever I type something incorrectly and I click it to correct it, the screen goes completely white. I exit out and reopen my page and the last few lines that I have written disappear. This is very frustrating. Overall this is a good app with a nice interface. I also appreciate the estimated reading time that can be applied to what is written.

Been using this app on multiple devices over the years. Great for making lists, taking notes, etc., files are organized, and there no ads/IAPs whatsoever. I'm giving it four stars only because of the one issue I just now discovered: a character limit. I was making a document listing musical albums I've discovered over the past several months and at around 10,500 characters, I hit an invisible wall and could no longer add anything.

Simple, easy, and very useful. Suitable for quick note taking. Two issues i'd like to see fixed: 1) Once i reach about 100 notes, the app slows to a crawl: opening the app, creating a new note, or viewing an existing note take ages until I move existing notes to a different folder or delete them. 2) Inserting a new line between existing lines creates a line space of a different size than the line space from creating a new line after the very last character in the note. This uglifies the notes.

I used to love this app because of its simplicity for basic writing, I prefer this kind of format. Recently though, the more stories/notes I create the longer it takes to open and exit each story, the app freezes up with a blank screen. I'm trying to slowly and gradually move my content to another writing app to hopefully salvage what is there, and then I'll stop using this app.

What th'... You have to type SYMBOLS around text to style it? Then these cluttery, distracting symbols appear in your document all the time, even though they're not actual parts of the text? What is this, the '90s—we're using WordPerfect again? Well, I guess I'd better find some floppy disks so I can save my work... I think I'll wear a big wide necktie, too, to get in the retro spirit. 😄 💾 💻

My version of Writer works well. depending on what other Apps i have running (like YouTube, email clients), sometimes I've had to reboot... But other Apps also freeze occasionally. . Oh, yes, i try to remember to change the first line of my entered Text, because that first line becomes the name of the document, automatically saved. In that way, if i delete lots of Text by mistake (let's say, I'm tired, or in a hurry), i dont depend on Writer having made a backup copy that still contains my Text

It's very good for writing down thoughts. But my God it's really fidgety. Twice I've ended up deleting pages I didn't want to delete because the app didn't load properly and EVERYTIME I turn the app off and go back on it removes the headlines, bold and italics effects- meaning I have to edit them all to get it back.

I use this app on my phone, and it works pretty much perfectly. The reason it only gets three stars is that when I use it on my FireHD8, it stops working, a lot! Especially if I mispell a word, and then try to correct it, Writer will just close. This gets REALLY annoying!!!

Awesome app! One of my all-time favourites. Though I wish that we could have changed up the themes or fonts within the app, that would have been pretty catchy! I even used this app for assignments. And I might as well add the extra charming fact about this app— which is its word count ability. Recommend for everyone out there.

this app is pretty good for writing, but it's also very buggy. depending on whether or not my WiFi is on makes a huge difference with how buggy it is, too, which is a definite downer when I need to quickly get something out. I hope this issue can be fixed because I had to move to another app because of it.

I love this app, its easy to use just a few clicks to start writing not that bad right? What makes me love it alot to is that there isnt any ads and no pop up screen that says like Do you enjoy our game? Pls rate it. No distraction nothing disturbing me when typing. Just peaceful.

Great is there any way to retrieve a deleted script? I accidentally hit the wrong one and deleted the story I was currently working on. there should be an option to retrieve something accidentally deleted. Such as a trash can that allows you the option of restoring mn material or final delete. that's the only downside to this app. otherwise its great.

Great app, just wish it was easier to delete things. I use this app for writing my books and articles, so I have a lot of deleting to do and they only let you delete on this at a time. (you can go into your file manager and delete from there though)

lost an entire text because this "writing app" doesn't have an undo button. You owe me two hours of my life and work. By Taking out an indispensable function you basically turned your own app useless. Clearly shows the respect you have for your line of work, for yourselves as people and for the user. Never in my life i imagined that something like this would actually be attempted. The funny part is that i was actually loving the app. It made want to write on my tablet. Shame on you.

It's always been a great companion app, but lately the screen freezes white whenever I try to open it... The last update is from 2012, so I sadly don't think this will ever be fixed, which is a shame.

Marvelous little notepad app. Easy to use with great features. Small size. I use it all the time. Grocery lists, quick notes, TV reviews. I've even written sermons with it.

idk if yhis is a problem with the app but i lost so much bc of this, its supposed to save after you close it, but a few time it didnt save and even worse it ERASED the data, really I have such a bad memory I wrote down everything on this app, but I cant trust it anymore, I used this for years but now sadly I have to uninstall it :/

This is a good idea, but you can't hide the formatting tags, making it a little cluttered for reading, and you can't export files. If you want to share a file, you only have a plain text to send. Maybe this will change with the new 'share' feature.

This is a very good app. I would have to say I give the Writer app five stars for being just that. A writing app so aptly named for just that, writing. Granted it's supposedly also a very good app to make lists in. I could imagine this, because it is simply just that, you "write." That's all Writer does. I love it's simplicity. Thank you.

this is a best writing app i ever use. the feature is simple and the apps nagivation is easy to use. it doesnt have any in app purchase so that is fair enough. plus i like the way the first introduction text in the apps tells you how real writing is not about the tools but the content of the writing. so fair enough this apps sure deserved some full star rating.

I am very upset with the stability of this app. I was using this app as a thought keeper and a place to keep some short artistic ideas as well as reference notes. Everything on the app I have written over the last year has dissapeared. What is the point of a writing app that wipes your writing?

It used to be the best app for this. Now it basically takes you out of the page and doesn't save whatever you had written I thought this was a small Glitch, but no, it's happened now more than once, erasing everything I had written down. Uninstalling.

Pretty solid overall writing app for Android devices. Only problem is when a word is underlined in red as being misspelled and you click on it,the app crashes.Hope this can be fixed.

This app is great, except for two problems: it crashes when you attempt to fix an autocorrect, and there is no way to save data on the cloud.

Frequent crashes, and I'll end up losing the last few lines I'd written. I like the simple style, but the app is nonfunctional.
