Xbox

Works great, mostly. I gotta restart my XBox (Series X) to stream from it often (every other day) and sometimes it doesn't wake the XBox either even though it's set to "always on". It's also annoying that the stream "times out" due to inactivity, with no options to disable or extend that time even though it's 100% my bandwidth and CPU being used. Even more so since there's like a 25% chance I won't be able to resume without using a TV/controller. -1 star until that's all sorted.

This app is very useful and handy when you don't your console on you. It's very good but the only issue with the app is that I can't seem to send videos that I personally took myself and send it through xbox messages. It's really irritating not being to share a video that I would like to show one of my friends because that might be the only way I have of contacting them. Other than that overall a great app, recommended!

This is amazing! First off, I can play games from my phone by plugging in my controller. I can also send clips from games to my phone and not only download them, but can also save a link to not waste storage. And lastly, if I want to confirm something like sending a clip to my phone or link an acc, the notification is UNBELIEVABLY FAST like, instant and its amazing!!! 10/10 for me so far, I hope it stays that way. Good work Xbox!👍👌

I really enjoy using this app for remote play, even if it has spotty connection and other issues. My biggest problem is after every update, I can't connect to my Xbox to remote play for about a WHOLE WEEK. I don't understand why this is a constant issue and they seem to "update" monthly so a good portion of time, I can't even connect to my Xbox. Please fix this and thank you!

It's slow af but I liked the functionality it offered as I like to turn my controller off while watching movies but sometimes want to rewind scenes. Past tense because now it refuses to connect. I paused a movie on HBO Max while I went to get food and now it will not connect, no matter what. I reset my Xbox, my router, modem, phone, re-downloaded the app... nothing will get it to reconnect. It would also benefit from a virtual joystick so I don't have to constantly swipe in some scenarios.

I don't know what changed but about a week ago I started getting notifications when my Favorite friends would get online. THANK YOU!! FINALLY! That's one of my most valued features. And....it does seem to be working faster. Now, as long as it would be as easy as possible to send video clips that I've saved, this app will always get 5 stars.

The app works perfectly. I have two suggestions that would greatly improve the app's usefulness and I have no idea where else to suggest them. - A function that allows you to upload a picture via the xbox app, to set as the background on your console. - A function that allows for the xbox app to serve as a keyboard for things like the store, Gamepass and in-game chat. Keep up the good work!

Overall the app is okay. But for some reason when I set my phone to dark mode the icons turn pitch black making them hard to see and I can't do anything about it. Features I would like to see added are being able to zoom in on screen shots and swipe left and right to check pictures because every time I want to check another screen shot I have to go back to the gallery and find it.

Connection to remote play is very unstable, it doesn't show game prices, it doesn't display people's avatars, it disconnects me from party chats whenever I let my phone screen turn off, it won't let me edit my bio and it doesn't display any movies or TV shows on mobile. It's easier to change my profile picture and it's way easier to text people.

This app is a love/hate thing. While it is useful in some ways, it is buggy and slow. Best things are that I can see if anyone is online and hit them up before I can make it home to see if they'll still be on, watch/share clips I've recorded, and control my xbox. The problems are: Uninstalling to install games remotely is useless because it won't show the updated amount of free space, MANY clips come up without audio, and it sometimes just goes very slowly.

The app has received alot of bug fixes and quality of life changes to make the app easier to use and navigate, however as of recently I haven't noticed any changes in terms of adding new features. Sometimes the app can get a little laggy but it never stays long (at least in my experience). As an added note, I wish you could compare game Stats with Friends, and not just Achievements. Pros: • Easy to use • NO ADDS Cons: • Not enough features • Data intensive when not connected to wifi

I think it is a useful tool in some ways but it is actually one of the worst, slowest apps I've ever used. This app needs a huge update that focuses on the performance of the app rather than the pointless changes they make that they think helps. After all this time it still tuns extremely slow. It takes up to 5 seconds for it to respond to one touch. Terrible

EDIT: Over a year later, and video playback of clips is still nonfunctioning on Android, no matter which connection is used. Absolutely worthless. How about we quit trying to redesign the UI and try to actually make it FUNCTION AT ALL! Game clips are a lost cause, nowz even on fiber internet. Not sure how they screwed that up this badly... But they did. Definitely not cool when I can't show anyone anything because it quite literally can't even begin loading a mere fifteen second game clip...

As of 4/11/21 The app runs better than when I had this rated at a two star, but I still won't put it back to the five star I had it at, as the download function still doesn't work properly. It gets to 90% complete, then fails to download. Screenshots from that point onward doesn't load in, unless I force close the app, and restart it after clearing the cashe. The only thing that works is if I send it to myself via the email option. It's better than nothing though. Five star upon a fix.

This review doesn't pertain to the app. But I would like to see windows media player on the Xbox get more features to make it easier to navigate. Maybe it just needs a better ui. Spent 2 hrs making a playlist. Of the 2 options to make a playlist 1 of those crashes windows media player app on Xbox

This app works pretty well for me. The streaming was good and I could play the game at an optimal speed. Of course there was a bit of lag because it was on the phone, but that doesnt really bother me. One thing I would recomend is to include on screen touch controllers so that you can play without having to carry your controller everywhere you go. Hope that yall can take this in consideration, and as always, keep up the good work.=)

I would've given it five stars if this app didn't have a very big delay on every option I pressed on. I don't know if this is only a thing for me but it really interferes when I try texting or inviting someone, sometimes it also sends a message I already sent, twice, like automatically resends the same message on its own. This problem must come to attention of the developers of this app.

Needs a lot of work,particularly youth Remote Play. Despite having set up my console with Remote Play, getting this to work has been inconsistent at best. The one time I have gotten it to work, the lag and poor graphics carry-over made it essentially unplayable. Remote play is the only reason to use the app. If this doesn't work [and work well] , there's no point in using it.

Xbox App is very useful! I just cannot give any Xbox service 5 stars "at this time" because of the blatant inaccessibility of their customer support. Do you know how frustrating it is when the issue you are having is not listed in the "FAQ's" or recited by the automated system and call backs are "unavailable at this time"?

Still don't understand the need for a standalone OXBAFA GAMEPASS App so far. It would seem more efficient and pragmatic to either keep the GAMEPASS content accessible on this app (at least the most recent offerings)....and, if the user MUST access everything GAMEPASS has to offer, it should be accessible via a link to the user's MS Account (available w/GP but NOT Xbox App). The XBOX APP features faux streaming via OneDrive and the Cloud. Super! Lack of ability to manage Clubs? Borderline fraud!

Honestly, it's a great app, but there are some serious flaws. Screenshots and Clips refuse to download half of the time. I have to close the app and reopen it constantly! Fix this, this never used to happen. For those of you who have this issue too, copy paste the link to the media into a browser and download it that way.

The latest update removed achievements and profile customization options in exchange for a sleek new UI and remote play. Until these features are reimplemented, I can't really recommend this over 3rd party solutions. (Edit) These features have been readded and improved upon compared to the versions that existed previously. Can once again confidently recommended the Xbox App to the homies!

Can't use the app for more than 2 minutee before it freezes up and I have to close it and reopen it. Not to mention that it takes forever to load, and anytime I click on something like a message or the console connection option, it takes like 5 seconds just to open. Don't know what happened but the older version was much faster and more stable.

This was formerly awesome. Quick, intuitive, and concise. Now it's slow and buggy. It is absolutely ridiculous that I have to use a third-party app to view games for sale by XBOX. A horrible version to what used to be a great app.

I have spent near an hour with this software and haven't figured out how to begin the update and progress in setup. I'm appauled at how amateur the software developers performed. Poor practice after another. Keeps forgetting the device I am continuously reconnecting to. Doesn't put the cursor in text entry boxes when it's the only option on the page. I can't figure out if I'm supposed to wait or click next to prompt the recommended download. Freezes either way. UX/ UI is not comprehendible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this app requires wifi and won't allow mobile data?? I use my mobile Hotspot for my 360, and you can't have both (wifi) on, preventing any connection from app to console. My xbox won't stop freezing when I open YouTube, so this would have been my only option.

Great when it works... Too bad that's rare. I love being able to see if my friends are on or send messages to them. I check it daily but most of the time I get a message that says it looks like you're stranded pull down to refresh but that also does nothing. Friends have the same issue.

Suddenly stopped being able to access my screenshots, game library, basically won't do anything at all now. Always worked perfectly up until today. Tried all the usual suspects, logged out and in, clear cache, reinstall, still nothing. It sends me notifications when I take a screenshot or get an invite but won't let me look at anything when I click on the notice. Entire capture list is just a bunch of black squares. Irritating.
