The number of ads has gotten out of hand, before, during, after. Happy to support, but this is way too much. In addition to this, the algorithm (notably around music) is absolutely atrocious. Finally, as per last update, YouTube decides to put all videos automatically in 360p, you have to manually change everything. That with the video reloading everyone an ad pops (every few minutes), leads to an extremely poor experience. Fix it.

The app is okay but something I'm very upset about is how where the "explore" button is now, there was a bunch of different categories I could click on for special content such as mixes, ghost stories, ASMR, ect. I used it every day but now it's suddenly gone. I hate it and I want it back because I loved that feature. Picture in picture also no longer works and it's frustrating

The number of minutes spent on adverts are way above the number of minutes that I spend watching videos. I wasn't like that, once! I have been using the app for many years now but it's getting worse and worse. It's just about business nowadays... Please do something about the amount of adverts put on YouTube because the app as it's self is just great!

Love the variety. You can find damn near anything. Price for the premium subscription is worth it (to me) but only barely, hence the 3 stars. If it wasn't for maybe 3 of the premium features that are necessary for my style of use, I wouldn't bother. Maybe try a graded plan system, or an option for customers to select (bundle, maybe?) and pay for the options they need.

Have used it every day for years. I have hearing issues, have to keep my volume at 100% and use captions as well. Within the past few months I've noticed whenever a video gets 'louder', YouTube will automatically lower the volume on my phone and I constantly have to raise my volume to accommodate for their volume normalizing that you don't have an option to turn off. super annoying, I want to just use a different app at this point so I can properly hear the videos I'm trying to watch. 🙄

For the past few days, my YouTube app has been acting up lately. It works fine at first, but after a few videos, it goes down hill. After a few videos, if you close a video and open another one and just advance it, the video will stop and not load. So now, when you go select another video, that video will load on and on and on, even with a good WiFi or mobile data signal. Plus, if you close a video while that happens, the app will freeze for a few seconds

I've been having issues with the YouTube app for the past 10 days or so. Captions aren't working on any video with them, my watch history for the last week isn't showing up and the app forgets where I've left off when I pause a video, when I try to upload a short video, it gets stuck and will not upload and I've been getting a ridiculous amount of ads close together. I've reported this via email and the feedback feature on multiple occasions and nothing has been sorted. YouTube, do better.

Fix the problem of videos not being added to the queue. I can cast to my smart TV. No problem there. But when I add videos to the queue, it says "video added to queue" but when I check it, it isn't there. It doesn't update in the corner of the TV screen anymore. And then it doesn't play the video I wanted to play next. I'm absolutely sick of it. It has been over a month, to date of posting this review. FIX IT NOW!!!!!

The YouTube app is really slow and constantly won't load videos so I must reset the app and click on the same video again just to get it to play. This happens after watching a few videos, any length. Very disappointing. Edit: It's gotten worse. Now whenever I try to use the slider to move forward or backwards in the video it freezes the video and takes 30+ seconds to load. Why?!?!?!?!? This app is so annoying!

Currently, the application will not do anything when I open it. It simply sends me to a grey screen and nothing ever loads. Also, I have all preferences set to highest quality, and it will always set the quality to 144p. I have been a premium subscriber for quite a few years now and I am disappointed that there are so many bugs that have not been addressed.

The #1 content viewing platform for a reason, but it comes with many flaws. Chiefly among them are the half-baked implementation of "shorts" and the video playback quality adjustments. Shorts can't be added to playlists. You can't "seek". When you click on one further in the list, it returns you to the beginning of the list if you back out. Etc. I've set my quality to use highest quality while using wifi, and I regularly have to adjust it up from freaking 144p of all things (unacceptable).

I'm going to put it this way: TOO MANY ADS. You can have ads at the beginning, you can put them at the end, you can even place one in the middle, but please don't have multiple ads scattered throughout the video. I've experienced three sets of two throughout a 10 minute video, as well as the usual one at the beginning and end. I beg, please dial back the ads where possible. Everything else is fine, it's just those unnecessary ads.

I really don't like that they removed the feature to sort a channel's videos by oldest first. And the sort menu pops up from the bottom now?? Why not make the menu appear from where I just clicked so I don't have to move all the way down the screen. Also as other people have been saying, there is a bug that makes the screen go mostly black when you exit and enter the app when a video is paused.

It has been months of this app being a buggy mess. If your screen goes off before posting a comment it will make you start over. Sometimes when in picture in picture while on the home screen or something it will hide off the screen so you can't enlarge it to bring it back. It happens a lot. I also notice a lot of time going full screen will turn of my phone's auto rotate. Idk it happens but it does and it also happens a lot. It was perfect for a while but now they are trying to break everything.

The video pausing thing has always been an annoying mild inconvenience, but it just did it twice in like 20 minutes. I would be my normal brand of irritated, but that upon having to fiddle with a video nearly every time I get an ad as once it's done the video will freeze and not play or respond to the play button, is, take a guess, really, Really irritating. Oh yeah. They fixed the recommended issue I suppose, but here's another issue with the primary function of 'watch video,' so here we are.

The interface has drastically downgraded sinec the last update. This could be due to my OS being Chrome, but if anything it should be stellar since they're both Google. The scroll bar requires a keen eye to grab, the play/ pause feature only work if the app is open, and it freezes/ crashes more often than not. I'm sure there are some miniscual adjustments I can do on my OS, but I shouldn't have to.

The update broke it. Now, it pauses videos at random intervals. Usually at the beginning of a video, and it varies on whether it's erratic pausing or slower. Which is infuriating when it comes to putting it on in the background, or listening to music. I know this issue isn't caused by my headphones, because people have been experiencing the same issue, and they work for other apps... For a billion dollar company or whatever, you gotta get that under control.

Hello, I have a problem with YouTube. Whenever I go into YouTube Shorts it overlaps the short with another video. And my other problem I have is when I close and open it, it plays a random video I didn't even click on. I've tried clearing the cache and everything. Thank you for reading. Edit: it's may 6th now and it still hasn't been fixed. Very displeased.

After clicking a notification it plays the video in the corner of the screen and there is no way to interact with it in any way. If you try clicking on the video to actually watch it, whatever video was recommended in the background will start playing. This is a really bad feature, why would you notify me if you aren't gonna let me watch the video. This feature is worse then putting 2 ads before and after videos. Also some of these ads are disgusting and won't stop playing even after reporting

No idea what it is, but the amount of bugs on this app is insane. Sometimes, the video stutters. Sometimes, the video overlaps frames with other frames, making a massive mess. Sometimes, I am watching a video, I tab out to look at Discord messages, and the app just restarts for no reason. I won't complain over ads, as thats just business as usual these days. The interface is also good, and the sheer amount of content is incredible, but the user experience is tarnished by some insane bugs.

I have used the platform since the days of nyan cat and animated badgers dancing in forests, and it's come a long way. I pay for premium, but this app is so poorly developed and poorly maintained that I'm lucky if I get close to a whole video without the app breaking. Issues in the past have required reinstall, cache clearing, etc, because the app is so fantastically unstable that it requires regular maintenance to keep it functional. Sometimes you have to just wait for a few weeks for an update

Not gonna talk about the ads, because frankly, everyone has talked about them. However, what frustrates me even more is the fact that you can't even properly watch a video without something going sideways. For instance, opening a video: sometimes takes minutes before it even plays. Or the audio plays while the screen is frozen, and worse yet, the thumbnail appears only with the audio. So me saying this needs a bit clean up is a HUGE understatement. Watch on browser.

YouTube is amazing. But contains adds. Some adds doesn't have the skip button. I've seen a lot of people rating in one. Which doesn't have the same problem as mine. But! When you try and upload is a lot easy. It comes easily posted! Which is good for me! I love those other kind of channels! Except for one thing! I've seen videos that are inappropriate. Which some of it are gacha, or anime. Some are real life.. which may be seen by young viewers.

So many damn ads. It has actually gotten worse since i wrote the last review. I couldn't sleep so I tried to get some research done and EVERY video had multiple ads, And even ads in the middle of the clip. YouTube is NOT a broadcaster, ffs! It's gotten to the point that I no longer watch the video because of the ads. And for the record, I have never bought anything I have seen in a social media ad, EVER!

Generally critically an abundance of advancements. Advancements are extended out and out. In addition, another issue is the video quality subsequent to opening through Wi-Fi. I've attempted the two options for video quality with Wi-Fi, that is High Quality and Auto, but not a single one of them is apparently working. The video really opens in second rate quality. Assuming no one really minds, note that my video quality is low while I'm using convenient data which is I have set.
