Nice app. Your Playlists can be download which you created on YouTube But there are features missing which is necessary for the app like this. 1 ) sort songs in your Playlist by your hand like the YouTube has. 2 ) download and add multiple songs at once to your Playlist. If I can choose songs with "✅" button and download at once or add to another Playlist would be lot more better. Also can't even remove songs from the Playlist which I add to. Once I see that the above things are done will give 5
Great app to use . Love it better than Spotify cos there's songs that you cannot find on Spotify, and you can switch from music to video . Catalog is huge . Down point : sometimes the license of some songs expire so they get deleted from your playlist out of nowhere but you can always find another version so it's okay I guess .
Edit: Youtube music now integrates with Waze, and the new "save queue as a playlist" feature is useful => +1 star. Cheers! --- It lacks the "credits" feature, you have to go to Youtube to see them... disappointing for such a basic feature. A multiselect feature would also be appreciated : for removing multiple song from a playlist, or for adding them. I did not see the integration with Waze either (isn't Waze part of the same group ?). Besides that, the app is solid. (Premium subscription)
It's a useful app but has some serious problems and what makes it even worse is you have to stay in the app and can't leave app and use another app while listening to music. The app needs some redesigning simply because everything is black, while for example samsung music which is just a music player has a decent UI.
Would be better if hen I'm offline it would automatically switch to "downloads". Clicking on "library" and then "downloads", it takes quite a long time before I can see my playlists. What exactly is it computing for multiple seconds? I love the integration with Shazam. I like the fact that I can find songs in a broad variety of languages. Globally, I'm satisfied, but there could be improvements.
It's great to be able to find all my favorites, from the old and obscure to the latest online hits. From the laughably awful to the spine tingling tremendous, it's all there. The interface is easy, quick and works well across a variety of devices, screen types and sizes. The encoding is top notch and the streaming reliability is second-to-none in the music category. I haven't even touched on the podcast management, and I'm out of space here. YouTube Music is a great music and entertainment home.
Great app. But there is one problem I can't seem to fix. Even when I have supervised mode on it plays clean songs even though I didn't add the clean versions of whatever song to my playlist. I deleted my playlist and got a new one with the same songs and no clean versions. However, it started playing clean versions for no reason. I don't know if this happens to everyone, but it does get really annoying when the song skips through the curse words.
I love this app and, because of the music locker feature, it is, by far, the best music streaming app available. The interface is intuitive, they have the rarest of rare songs, remixes and bootlegs and a library like none other. I also love how it works with Android Auto and on my smart devices. To request a song/album/artist by voice is a really cool feature. It doesn't have hi-fi streaming yet, but my untrained ear can't tell the difference. Hoping they'll add podcasts soon, but couldn't be happier with the features and the quality of the app.
Wonderful experience so far with YT Music. From the sound quality (any song sounds just better on here), user-friendly interface, app display and curated playlists to auto - recommendations. I think a little more effort could go into making more relevant auto - recommendations. They're great, no doubt but in terms of relevance, I'd place it at about a 75% accuracy. A big plus is that I found a lot of indie artists (local & international, both) since they're hard to come by.
I have one big playlist made of up music I like, of all metal music, and I have two relatively minor gripes that would make the experience better. Firstly, if I find a song I don't like and I dislike it, my recommendations are adjusted but the song stays, and it's impossible to find the specific song out of 1500 to delete it, if you dislike a song on your playlist, it should be automatically removed. Second, songs should be added on auto if it's in the same genre, not because of similar aspects
*Update, it also can't (or won't) play without video (real bummer if you're watching data) or keep playing if you minimize it. On top of that, it randomly turns on in the background. You get 3, maybe 4 songs, then it pauses to "check that you're still there" and puts your phone to sleep. If I wanted to constantly fiddle with my music player, I'd get a record player. I want something I can set down and let go while I'm cooking or relaxing, and this "feature" completely kills that.
Easy to use and works great! If all you're looking for is a music player, this app will do just fine. I wish if I added a song to a playlist it would automatically add to my library. A bonus is being able to quickly watch the associated music video. I wish I could upload my own playlist photo. Also, If you upload your own music library, features are limited. For example, you're unable to edit song metadata. Most users won't upload their own music but it's a mild pain for those who do.
YouTube Music is much more efficient to use than any other music app, particularly Spotify, in my opinion. However, downloading songs either take far too long to download or not at all. Plus, removing songs from the library or playlists, or moving them to a different playlist, take a while individually. Personally, I wouldn't mind being able to select multiple songs and then remove or move to a different playlist simultaneously.
Best music app out there! Goes very good with YT Premium. You don't have to worry about leaving your phone idle, your music keeps playing on the background! The only "negative" thing that happens is, when you add a song to your own playlist and that song is marked "for children", you can not look for another song because at the bottom of the screen a pop-up Will Tell something as "miniplayer stopping for kid songs" and this is pretty annoying. Other then that, I recommend this music app!
Downloads are clunky and buggy, it doesn't refresh normally, it has to go through the buggy phase and I have to wait for it to fix itself. You can't search your own liked music, so if you have a thousand songs you'll have to scroll to whatever you want to play, or search it up in global search bar, and that's super inconvenient if you dont have internet connection. These issues shouldn't happen in youtube music of all apps, but it does, and it's a disgrace to google.
The "Downloads" section has the worst interface ever. I am often outside of cell service or in marginal areas. In these cases, you can only go to downloads, and they are only sorted by album. Not by artist. So, good luck finding a particular song when you want to hear it. Weak cell service is actually worse, as the app will attempt to load online content first. Fix the offline organization!
I love this app and use it all the time. The only thing that I've noticed is an issue is when you're sharing to another device like a TV and playing music, the queued up playlist messes up when you try to take a song off or you try to rearrange the list. It just keeps resetting to the original order it popped up as not how you want it.
You have done a terrible job keeping music easily accessable. Not everyone wants to or has the ability to stream music all the time. You made the user interface for interacting with the music I uploaded a complete pain to get to so that you hope I will just stream it instead. Way to push out a service no one asked for. Instead of simply improving on the good thing you already had going. UPDATE 5/22: STILL GARBAGE!! Seems to be trending in the wrong direction.
The paid app serves my purposes pretty well. It's got its limitations like being onerous to create playlists from your "likes" due to only three sort options. I'd like to see genre, album, and date fields added to start. The curated selections "radio feature" are really good based off of just one song. Being able to toggle from song to video (when available) is a cool option as well.
I'm still not impressed by the crossover to YouTube. I had to go into setting to stop it from adding thumbs up videos to my liked playlist. This feature should be off by default. You don't want people watching these videos while driving do you? Also if you want to download for airplane mode you have to make sure it's just the song and not the whole dang video. The default settings are the biggest issue.
Does the job. The integration with YouTube is often a bit annoying, like when you like a random funny video classified as "music" and it gets added to your playlists. I also wish that the offline mode worked better (lyrics, possibility to live a song offline), and I'd love to have lyrics translation in-app (or a button to send the lyrics to Google translate ?)
