1 Second Everyday

I was shown this app by a friend who uses iOS and loved it. It was easy to use and the end result was a fantastic video. He said the only downside was that is cost £5. So when I saw it was free on Android I downloaded it instantly. However, it is a long way away from the iOS version. So far the problems I have encountered are: Clips having no sound. Clips being less than 1 second or 1.5 seconds (whichever I selected). They end up being just a fraction of a second and are unwatchable. Clips not uploading. Clips being inexplicably deleted. This app is straight up broken. I would happily pay £5 for a version that works as smoothly as the iOS version. Please fix this as it's a great idea!

Extremely disappointed in this app. I used it nearly everyday since January 2018 as part of a New Year's resolution. I loved it and it was so easy to use. Sometime around September 2018 it stopped compiling my videos and didn't play sound on any of my snippets. I kept uploading daily videos, thinking these bugs would be fixed. I only realized this week that the "storage" and sync with my Google Drive had never occurred throughout the entire year. My videos were never backed up and I currently cannot get my app linked to my Google Drive. There have been so many issues with this app in the past few months, whereas there were none before. Makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes at this company. I will be uninstalling in 2019 if these bugs are not fixed... it's currently unusable and worthless. A year of memories are stuck and vulnerable to data loss.

Worked so well for the first three months. Got a really good video. However, now the app won't mash more than three week's worth of seconds. The people on the in-app help centre, although very friendly and responsive, ended up not providing any solution. It wasn't an issue of storage; it was concluded that it was simply because my phone is Android. This was, naturally, really frustrating, especially as i had been hoping to make a year's worth of seconds and was already 3 months in.

I used the app last year and it was great! This time it has suddenly lost all of my clips (it says there are 54, but the screen is blank and it says "could not load freestyle sequence"). I've tried uninstalling and reinstating my backup from Google drive but it hasn't done anything. I spent a long time adding the specific seconds I wanted from each of my daily videos so this is really frustrating, I don't have time to do it again now it's nearly Christmas! (update - still a problem)

I really love the idea and was super excited to start making my own 1SE videos. However, once I got the app, I was immediately disappointed. The android version is terrible; when I try to use live photos saved as videos, they look fine, but in the compilation, they are just frozen as photos. And now, for the past 15 hours, I have had the notification that a video is being compiled, but nothing is happening. I was trying to find alternative apps, but there aren't any! Please fix this one!!!

Don't get this app for Android. I used it for about a year on iPhone, and it was great. Then I switched to android and i've had numerous problems since - often clips will not have any sound, the interface is much worse, and after the updates the app I lost all the videos I'd clipped for over a year! I contacted their help services and there was no way to recover them anymore. Now the app won't even open at all when it worked just the other day - I've tried re-installing it, etc. I've given up.

Easy to use, great concept, but horrible for android. Everything works except when you actually try to compile a video, then it says "Syncing timelines" for several days and never finishes the video. My friends have iPhones and the app works much better for them - you can watch the video as you go along, and the layout is better. Only works for android if you want really short videos, but I want to make one for the whole year. I hope they fix this before the end of the year.

It's very easy to use. You can take videos from the app or find them in your gallery. Personally the hardest thing is remembering to take the videos. I gave this 4 stars because the notifications reminding you to take videos only pops up once you open the app. Edit: Ive compiled a few smaller videos and they took a few hours, so when I did the full year I expected it to maybe take a day. It's been almost a week and it still isn't done. Ive reset my phone 3 times and have had the same problem.

This app has such potential, but it's so buggy, at least the Android version. The most annoying bug is that when i compile my year long video, about 35% of the videos come in with sound, and the rest don't, for no discernible reason. I've tried troubleshooting, and reloading, with no success. It's a really cool app concept, the execution is unfortunately lacking

I tried to compile the full year video and it downloaded in about 20 minutes, but three of the videos didn't work and just showed as still images instead of the second clip. These clips play fine on their own in the app, but no matter what I did, would not play when compiled with others. I ended up spending hours tweaking the videos in a variety of different ways to try and make it work. THEN I tried re-compiling the videos, but they wouldn't work. It could "compile" for an hour and get nowhere. I had to restart my phone so much and then just download the individual months and rewatch them to hope that they work properly. TL;DR - I HATE this app.

I really like the concept. However, if you actually do start using it daily, you'll find that your storage will fill up fast. I wish there were better options to store photos and videos on the SD card. I wish you could upload the media to something like Google Photos easily, and then have the files deleted from my device. I wish the editing interface was easier to use.

With the recent data loss I have to do all my seconds for a third (!!!) time, and that's a lot, since I've been collecting seconds since 2013. Sometimes videos will be compiled to static images, which is very weird. Albeit a great idea I am getting more disappointed with the app experience every year. I hope alternatives will soon pop up in the Play Store.

I made a challenge to do 1 sec of video everyday for a year starting on the 5th of January 2019. I really love this app it has been a breeze to use. Easy to setup, export and share. If you put your videos on instagram as well, developpers will often share some of your stuff and respond on your videos as they are really active and friendly. There has been some bugs, like any other app or program, those happens, but it never was a major problem on my side. Can't wait for the version 2!

Although this isnt really my thing, a friend convinced me to try it and ive grown to like it. But ive noticed, while watching how the compilation was looking so far, that the photos lose some quality, which, for the 1 year transformation im going through, is a turn off. It makes it harder to notice the small details starting to change over time

Whenever I try to mash my seconds together, the video doesn't work. For instance, it will say that the video is 2 minutes and 59 seconds long. However after 10 seconds, the video stops and it asks if I want to restart the video. The app also doesn't allow me to save the videos to my camera roll and only gives me the option to share it on various social media platforms.

App doesn't allow you to use any of the new video features on Android, like hyperlapse and slow motion videos. When I try to compile (which fails about half of the time after 10 minutes of loading), the hyperlapse/slow motion videos show as still shots. Was excited about this app but has been a waste of my time. I'll be on the lookout for an alternative and uninstalling this as soon as I can.

The app is not perfect but for all you people struggling to stitch your clips together here's what worked for me. Select 'custom' and choose your time period then leave it to do it's thing for about 5mins. Don't open any other app or it will fail. When the time is up your movie should be ready. This worked for both myself and my daughter after many failed attempts!

I absolutely love the concept of this app, but my wife just downloaded it on her iPhone and I'm shocked at the difference in user experience. As a UX Designer, I understand certain sacrifices have to be made when supporting both iOS and Android, but this is beyond anything I've ever seen. Coupled with all the concerning reviews about disappearing clips and videos that won't render, my excitement over capturing little snippets of our newborn's life has instantly turned to disappointment.

Cannot save video, setting up the app was easy, adding clips is easy, but tried to compile the last years clips into a video and it doesn't work. It has had the notification saying it is 'compiling a video' with a scrolling progress bar in my notification bar for 3 days now. It works perfectly on friends apple phones. Fails on my android. Therefore it is useless!

The developers really seem to not care about the Android version, the UI, bugs, sync, everything is worse than the iOS version. btw, how come there's no option to select Quality of output video and I end up with really really crappy compiled videos. lately it doesn't even compile videos anymore. I've been using the App for 5 years and it's crazy how little it has evolved, and of course during those 5 years I've lost my timelines multiple times, it's completely random.

the actual app itself is lovely; easy to use, simple to follow but when you go to export the video, weather it's from custom dates or not, the video takes AGES. like... days. I had my month of January 'compiling' for 8 days.... and at the end of it, it hadn't happened even worked!!!! so annoying as I'd been making sure to capture my video every day and really enjoyed it.

I first downloaded this app in probably the early spring of 2018. I complied December to the spring and then mashed them to see what my video would be like so far and everything went fine. Now fast forward to this past winter when I was ready to finally mash together my past year and the app does nothing. It makes absolutely no attempt at all to create my video. I can select "all", "custom", or "year" and the app will no longer download my video. Utterly useless and unbelievably disappointing.

super disappointed in the android version of this app. i just switched from an iphone to an android phone. the compiling takes a long time and sometimes never compiles. also there is no sound in the clips, so the seconds where there is singing, talking, or music just look lame. please fix this soon. i have my January-April compilations saved from my old phone and they look great, but im worried the rest of the year will look bad.

I started using this app in March 2018. I now have one year's worth of timeline and video. But they stopped working on the Android app all together (help center told me they all together stopped fixing things) so the volume is completely gone. Given that it's a 6 minute video, it's now hard to upload, add musick use any way except to be extremely frustrated about one year's work to make a video journal.

Doesn't compile videos with sound. It used to work but when compiling my 2018 video, there's no sound until the last few seconds. Have tried recompiling but now it won't even compile a video. I've sent an in-app message asking for support and sent an email - both didn't get a reply. Really disappointing and feels like a complete waste of time.

This app is a really good idea however, unlike with the iOS version, it doesn't show my photos from that day. It shows videos that are on my phone but not the photos for some reason. Also having to download a video every single time you want to have a look at it, is quite annoying. I would prefer it were more like the Apple version

Concept is great but the app is absolutely terrible. Compared to the iOS version of the app, the interface is terrible and lacking in special features, theres so many glitches (sync not working/sound cutting out of video/video not exporting/clips suddenly being shorter than 1 second, etc) and it's so disappointing, especially when your mates are having a great experience making theirs on iPhone! You really need to invest some time and money into the Android version because right now, it is dire.

Love the idea, but the Android version of this app barely functions. I have been trying to compile a video for 3 days now, I just have a permanent notification saying its compiling. When I opened the app, it flashed saying it had finished, but it was nowhere to be found. Tried again yesterday and it still just says compiling. Its usually kind of buggy but this is the worst yet. It also doesnt handle hyperlapse videos and doesn't let you use photos like on iOS.
