112 Where ARE U
Existing features: - 112 Where ARE U sends your position to the 112 PSAP management software, allowing an accurate location, for a rapid response, when every second is important.- 112 Where ARE U stores your personal data, including ICE (in case of emergency) numbers, that can be called for you by the 112 PSAP operator, if necessary.- Automatic location services are currently available here: https://where.areu.lombardia.it/demo. Wherever 112 Where ARE U location services are not present, the app still allows normal emergency calls to the emergency numbers.
To be able to use 112 Where ARE U location services, it is necessary to subscribe, using the app.
New in this version:
- 112 Where Are U has been completely redesigned with a new look, easy to use.
- Mapping of touch functions for unimpaired sight citizens.
- “Silent call” function, to allow citizens to call 112 even when they are unable to speak.
- You can choose to call 112 directly or select the emergency service you need, by using the “voice call” menu, to make the process more efficient.
- Added interactive tutorial to guide users through the app’s functions on screen.
- Add your photo in the user profile menu.
- The emergency number changes automatically with the Country you’re in (e.g. if you are in the U.S.A., the app will propose 911 instead of 112).

The app looks good but I do not know if I can use it in Belgium since in the app it says only some parts of italy, if you can only use it in Italy they should put Italy in the app name. If I can use it in Belgium, do all the settings work, like the silent calling? Might also be good to automatically turn on gps functions on the phone when opening the app.
[Registering asks for reading and writing permissions on media files: what's the reason for?] I've tried again and now you can install and register without giving unnecessary permissions. You've listened, and this is great. Thank you.
DOESN'T WORK! It's been days that I've been trying to register. I'm in Iceland and trying to use my UK or my Italy number; none of them work, it always say "communication error".
Seems to be better than most. A cofirmation from different emergency services that it really works would be helpfull. A functional demo is not yet a proove.
I have not used 112, but I was aware of 100 very good experience n I'm very happy, now I got this 112 I will go for it. It may be great......... Thank you for the new app. Where are U.
I tried the demo and the app was close enough but the website told me that I am somewhere out at sea - and I am not... So I guess the locating system isn't working properly - I wouldn't want to call through this app just to send rescuers out at sea for nothing
You can't use in the UK or Europe, it working only in some regions of Italy. This detail should have to be on the first line of description.
This app only works in some parts of Italy. Not made clear in the description.
Why did it took me through the whole registration process without warning that it is only usable in Italy? It just wasted my time...
I cannot register my phone number, tired several times and always says communication error 😒
All phones should have this pre installed as it will no doubt save lives. Only useful app on phone
It allowed me to install and do a demo, only to find out that it is not available in most of Italy.

it's impossible to register any phone number (i tried both an italian and a hungarian number). that's why it's useless...
Writing access and registration are necessary before the app starts.
Ive not had to use it yet, or lets say. Was timid👀 NO MORE AND WILL USE , I NEED TO OFTEN. THANK YOU!.

The application is well designed and easy to use. Problems related to privacy are taken into account and that's definitely a plus. It's not clear to me why it needs storage permission, it would be useful if the requested permissions are explained in the description. The only problem I noticed is that after exiting the application keeps using GPS and displays a notification. The only way to stop GPS usage seems to be killing the app, since dismissing the notification doesn't stop its usage.
Terms and conditions are in Italian only, program says that we can use it only in some regions of Italy.

Very useful and intelligent application. I really hope it can have a fast and wide diffusion all over Italy territory and Europe. I think the sensors activation (GPS, cell networks, wi-fi networks) for quick and precise localization could be improved, to make easier or even automatic the process of starting the app and having active all the useful sensors at once. A great issue during the account creation is selecting the birthday, cause you have to scroll all months back from present day till the previous century. Please fix this issue asap with the manual/numerical selection of the year of birth. Anyway for the purpose of the app, really a great job! Keep going!
