About 1942
Set in the Pacific theater during World War II, this vertically scrolling shoot 'em up tasks players with battling through the entire enemy fleet. Shoot down enemy planes, avoid enemy fire and perform rolls and loops to avoid certain death in this epic nail-biter from the past.

Galaxy Note 9 on T-Mobile with Pie. For those gamers who want the original 1942 coin-operated game, this slightly-enhanced version is as close as you can reasonably get. DIP switches not included so there are some other customizations such as auto-looping and advance warnings as a tradeoff. Some game history would have been a nice extra but for $0.99 it is still a good version.
The game play is great, although I agree with the other reviewers: that whistle sound is super annoying. They seriously need a way to mute that sound. It says it contains in app purchases, but I don't actually see any anywhere in the game. Maybe I just didn't play enough yet.
Not worth the dollar, lags a bit too much to play on galaxy s7, still the classic game though, bumped up from 2 to 3 stars because it's classic with no added bs like microtransactions. I would rate 4, maybe 5 stars if they fixed the lag.
Desperately needs an update with options to disable that annoying whistle. Game takes only 66% of the screen height on a Note10.
Needs updated.. whilst the gameplay is there. The game needs updated to support larger displays. Only ⅔ to ¾ of the screen is used.
Great recreation of the original. Well worth it. Please add a mute button and get rid of the whistle sound and this gets a 5 star rating!
This is nothing like the original 1942 on Commodore 64 console. 1942 music was one of the best which was replaced by a cheap digital effect on the mobile version.
Classic game, but I'm not sure it was well conceived for mobile devices. Takes a little getting used to. But there is fun to be had.
Can only see half the screen, and it keeps flashing. Don't know if it's my phone or what not, but I just wasted money.
Finally the classic it hard as i remember 😁 but fun for break from or in general worth the 1$

It's ok, that screeching sound is annoying need a option to turn it off, and for some reason clicking achievements crashes the game back to home screen for me, plz fix. Sony Xperia Z3
Very good shooter, with an emphasis on dodging enemies vs bullet hell. Enemy behaviour progresses quickly, and adapting to this is the name of the game. Misses perfect score because game forgets settings between sessions, and due to slowdown when Internet is slow. Also, looping controls to slow/unresponsive to be useable, but you do learn to compensate.
No game can copy the original, which is why this one is the best. Pretty much the classic but with extra features for that extra bang for your buck. As a request, could you guys also put 1943 on android as well? Furthermore, Why would people complain about the whistle? Only one little repetitive whistle?? At least the whistle of the Arcade version sounds a lot better then that of the NES version. (Not to rip on the NES version, though. It's not bad. Hard, but not bad.)
