This has been a decent app to share photos with a few family members but from 1st May 2022 you'll have to pay if you want to upload more than 1 photo at once, or videos longer than 10 seconds. I shall therefore be switching to an app that stays free. They've also never fixed the bug that displays your photos in the order they were taken or edited rather than your selection order, which I've contacted them about in the past.
This WAS a great app. Went from all access to BOOM you can only upload 1 photo at a time and only 10 second videos unless you pay a membership. I've been using this since 2015. It was great for the grandparents who don't use social media. Guess I'll go back to using Shutterfly or sending family photos through email. Developers, have you considered a tiered approach? Or ad version versus premium? If uploading a minute video means I have to watch a 20 second ad, that's reasonable and I'll do that.
I was really excited about this app and it was exactly what I wanted, but a week in it started telling me you need a premium account to post more than one photo at a time. This is not mentioned ANYWHERE and I'm not sure if it changed or was just not advertised. I never would have used this app had I known this would be a premium feature. I tried reaching out to the support team and have received no response.
I loved using this app to share photos of my family. Now they want to charge me a monthly fee for everything I used to be able to do for free. Basic things like sharing a video that was longer than 10 seconds, or posting multiple photos at a time. I'm so disappointed and will probably be discontinuing my account soon.
I love this app. I use it to post baby photos that I want to share only with my family and friends and feel assured the photos are private unlike most social media. The only flaw is my friends have had a hard time signing up with the app from the invite I sent them, it wasn't very intuitive and was buggy. Maybe they fixed it since.
Spent hours of my precious little time setting up photo collections of our new twins, only to finally discover that invite links are broken. It prompts you to download the app but then the invite doesn't connect you to anything, just sends you back to the original prompt. All that effort effectively wasted. Wish I spent that time sleeping to supplement the 4 hours a night I'm getting instead.
It WAS an amazing app but now 90% of using it requires a Premium subscription ($3.99 monthly). So disappointing since we have been using this app since 2018 and have so many photos uploaded. I was so surprised and upset to see this sudden change.
Recent update changed the T&C's for the free version dramatically chasing the value proposition. Videos can't be longer than 10s (used to be 60s) and only one pic at a time. Looks like they are winding down this app. Still looks the same after 4 years.
Loved the app for a while. But now they want to charge you 3.99 a month for features you used to have for free or they limit you to only post one picture a day. The whole point is to post in privacy and only share with those you trust and now they're forcing you to pay for it.
I used this app for 7 years, I have shared so many photos and videos with family and friends and it was great, but now in order to upload more than one picture or a video longer than 10 seconds I have to pay for premium. I can't even begin to tell you how disappointed I am. And I've contacted several times about this and gotten no response either. Don't bother getting started with this app. Looks like I'll be looking for a new one.
Disappointing, I have been using this app to let my family who lives in other countries see photos of us and what goes on, without having the data sharing with other companies. Because of this new update saying I need to pay for the app to upload more than 1 photo at a time, I will be deleting our account and looking for something else.
I have been using 23 snaps for many years and it's been a great app up until recently but now you have to pay to post photos. Really unhappy with their total disregard for the economic crisis the world is facing. 😡😠
I have been invited to down load this app from my grandchildren. I have followed every instruction but there is NO " invitation link" to click. This app is bogus at best. I even "signed up to try to find my family, but the app only wants me to send them an invitation. Duh: I'm trying to accept an invitation, not send one out .
Was an excellent app that we loved using until they put posting multiple photos behind a paywall. Switching apps now
I really like the idea of this app, but I have been continually let down by its functionality. I continue to have issues (using a samsung/android) with uploading videos as well as navigating small bugs throughout the app. I hope they can fix these issues because it could be a really great app. It has been a nice way to connect with family without having to be on social media sites.
I loved this app when I downloaded it over three years ago, but for the last year or so it has been increasingly glitchy. The worst part is that ok no longer able to share photos from within any photo apps - instead I have to open 23Snaps and fetch the photos from the correct folder, and sometimes 23Snaps doesn't "see" the folder with the photos so I have to move them around on my phone to a place that's recognized. At this point I'd like to switch to a new app.
Very good app for keeping tight control over who can see your family photos. Unfortunately, the update appears to have broken two important features: when uploading photos, the date defaults to Dec 31, 1969 (and changing it is cumbersome!); you can no longer select photos if viewing them full screen for holdouts, either.
Good concept let down by bugs. Uploads regularly get stuck often requiring me to restart my phone to get rid of the upload notification. Sometimes this results in half my pictures uploading while the others fail. Uploading a video and trimming it within the app results in a failed upload 9 times out of 10. Notifications don't work any more for some reason. These issues have continued despite changing phones. I've emailed their support account to provide feedback/ask for help and was ignored.
In general I like the app, and my family enjoys using it. I don't like the new gallery though. The old one (which was divided up by months and easy to scroll through) was much more convenient for reflecting back on photos. I wish that was still an option.
Great concept. Has been functional for sharing pics with family. Wish you could zoom in on photos. Had some issues uploading on my Android. Wife uses iPhone version and it works better- so she posts for our family. Neither can pinch zoom in on pics though..This is important feature for our older family members with vision impairment and they have complained. Overall, it's worth it since we don't have Facebook and it's a great way to share with family- but still needs improvements.
Really frustrated there hasn't been an update since 2018 on Android. I have not been able to upload any videos for a good 12months. What is happening. I have sent so many emails before with no response. Have seen on below reviews there is an update being version 8. This isn't showing as available for me to update. Still on version 7.
Now Google are threatening to start charging, and Google photos is great for a free photo sharing service, mediocre if costing, I'm looking for alternatives. I'm told I've the old version which had some bugs, however i see no option on Google play to download any other version. Thank you for replying, I've increased the stars for good customer support :)
Terrible discussion to make it mandatory to have premium for posting multiple photos goodbye and hello Family discord
Worked on my S8 but never worked on my pixel 3. Great when it works, but uninstalling now as it isn't being fixed. Would update to premium but heard no support for that either. Update Nov 2020, new version the developer mentioned below doesn't fix the upload issues from my pixel 3. It works maybe 1/4 times.i will follow up with support you if they have a solution.
Continues to have bugs when trying to upload even one photo. Gets stuck uploading and I have to restart my phone to get rid of the notification. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app sometimes fixes the issues, which is apparently a good enough solution that it's not worth actually fixing the app. Won't be buying the premium version.
The android app continues to get worse. Now when I try to upload photos I get all 7,000 photos with no organization. Literally photos from today and the next one from 5 years ago and the one after from 3 years ago. Prior to this videos just failed after confirming upload. Tired of the issues so I rarely post these days. Such a let down.
Loved the ap until they took away all the things we've loved the past 7 years and put them behind a pay wall.
**The refresh WAS great. Suddenly now 75% of the features require a premium account which of course isn't a simple one time purchase. I'm so disappointed since we have 5+ years of memories on here and now suddenly I couldn't even post more than 1 photo at a time. What use is 1 photo at a time? I'll just send a text. How does this even honor those that have been involved in the app for years? I'd pay for a one time upgrade but $3.99 a month indefinitely is not happening.**
