360 HDR Bracket Tool

This app is actively developed by an FX TD (Visual Effects Technical Director), aiming to allow fast and no-brainer preparing 360° images for producing HDRI images efficiently with RICOH Theta S/SC/V/Z1. Images taken need to be exported to another app or on the computer to merge them into the .hdr or the .exr file. There are lots of options to do that, it is suggested to use Photomatrix, PT Gui, Photoshop or Lightroom with the plugin.

Features include,
1. Automatically Shooting Multiple 360° Images For HDRI.
2. Shoot Backplates with the phone camera, and organize files efficiently
3. Automatically calculate exposure settings, allowing to cover wide EV range (this app is now capable of shooting up to ± 9.0 EV range). This means you will not need to struggle with ISO or Shutter Speed Setting anymore with this app.
4. Automatically Download Images just shot or afterward with file name changed to be meaningful.
5. Comprehensive logging functions to allow TD working without pressure on set. Allowing Show thumbnails, comments, image file inspection, etc.
6. Comprehensive tutorial included.
7. Connection, Theta Battery and Capacity Indicator.

Notice,
1. This app requires a minimum Theta firmware version.
Theta S: 1.82
Theta SC: 1.20
Theta V: 1.11
Theta Z1: 1.11

eg. for Theta S,
RICOH provided an app here https://theta360.com/en/support/download/firmware/s/. A tutorial on how to upgrade is here https://theta360.com/en/support/manual/s/content/pc/pc_09.html

2. This app supports the latest Theta Z1 device.
Also working with Theta SC and Theta V, it actually performing better on Theta V and Z1, since they have wider EV range on iso/shutter speed/image resolution setting.

3. This app doesn't work with the Client Mode, nor the Bluetooth. Please make sure to turn off Theta device Client Mode for newer Theta V and Theta Z1 devices. Client Mode means Theta device and Mobile phone connects to the same router with same LAN. This app only works when the mobile phone connects to Theta device's Wifi Hotspot.

For vfx purposes there are few apps for the Theta V. This is one of the better ones but its just okay. You cant adjust the iso, the white balance is set by presets rather than colour temperature, and it lacks the flexibility to precisely set a range of exposures. On an outdoor shoot on a sunny day, for example, you would typically set an exposure for the sun then over expose from there. The Theta S bracket app allows this for the S but not the V. That would be a welcome upgrade to this app.

Worked ok for a little while before the latest theta V firmware update (apart from the live preview; never worked on either an android phone or an ipad pro). Since the newest camera firmware update, the live preview still doesn't work but more importantly, it will not perform the bracketing at all. Pretty useless now for the use I have as a movies/TV series VFX supervisor for Netflix to name 1. I had to buy the app twice (android & ios). None works; same phone, latest cam firmware and app ver

I can't connect my theta v to my smartphone xiaomi A2. The phone connects to the WiFi of the camera and I can use the official app. But even when I stop the official app, restart phone and connect via WiFi then try to connect with three60 app it just pops up the dialogue to connect to cam via wifi (but it is already connected)

Just reinstalled after upgrading to Theta V. Running latest firmware (version 3.00.1) and Android Pie on phone. Easy to use and faultless operation. Extends bracketing way beyond the limits of the Ricoh app. Highly recommended.

Doesn't seem to give correct bracketing. Doesnt always capture all images. Captured image exposure on the low end doesn't seem to match the EV specified.

Great app, been looking for something to do exactly this for grabbing HDRI Ibl on set. Dropped a star because the gui does not fit screen properly (Samsung s4 mini).

Don't let replies to update fool you, it is not connecting, waste of money

Good app but the delayed shooting would be great option. I need to get out of the frame on set. I can always leave the phone next to theta.

Contacted support twice, no answers! Worked a couple days, then no more connection with camera. Need to uninstall then re-install app to be able to connect again with Theta S. Very annoying.

Decent app for taking HDR photos but missing some key features. 1) delay before first shot so you can get out of frame, 2) continuous or set count so you can remove noise and people from photos by masking out of matching brackets. Would get 5 stars if I could set it to take 6 sets of brackets then make noise when done.

Unlike the Ricoh Theta's HDR function which produces an 8 bit per channel jpg, you can create a 32 bit per channel hdr image with Jianming's app and Photomatix. Once you have your image saved as an hdr file, you can open it anytime and use Photomatix's details enhancer or tone compressor to fine tune the image.

This app is excellent and it works flawlessly with my Theta SC. I had some Qs/minor feature requests and the author replied (extensively) within 24 hours. Superb.
