Talk about extensive wait times, and even basic moves at the opening take longer than necessary; I mean, wait an eternity for the computer to move a piece at the end of the game. Also, it has a habit to change difficulty levels in the middle of a game; that it suddenly starts playing like garbage, so I check the difficulty level, and it's all the way down to 3. This app needs work, especially with the superfluous wait times (ridiculous).
I've tried alot of different chess games. This is one of my favorites. I like that you can customize your colors and maneuver the board for different views. AI play seems pretty accurate with alot of levels available. Only thing I would like to see changed is I would like the option of under-promoting my passed pawn instead of simply automatically getting another queen.
This game is so good that I'm going to give it four stars even though it fails my most initial and most important benchmark for chess games: it doesn't recognize draw by threefold repetition. But otherwise amazing graphics, colors, good AI engine... ...but when I offer draw by threefold repetition to AI that has no material and I have three queens and two rooks, and we do five repetitions and still didn't draw, that's a clear fail for a chess game.
Great for setting up and analyzing positions. specially when using a book or magazine with a lot of variations. Reverse function lets you go back through moves to starting position. Lots of fun. Plus - you can change color of pieces to whatever you want! Five Stars (-:
Searched for this game for over a year; incredibly glad it reappeared. Fantastic 3D features, change of view & perspectives, color selection of board, background & game pieces. Easy controls, visual game piece moves/hints on the board; just a remarkable game experience. "LUV & NJOY" this chess game - !!!
Great game.. I haven't gotten past level 9 yet. I've learned some stratagies, but the Black Queen always comes back to blindside me after sacrificing herself..or playing dumb. I like to walk the King off the board with two queens or three. Challenging
Good 3d graphics but let down by the chess engine. In the long time I have been using this app I see no improvement to adding main features. Ability to add chess engines to play against would be welcomed and would be great to use this chess board online against other players. As it stands, I use other software for better chess engines and online human play.
This game is beautiful and its UI is gorgeous. The 3D camera rotation, (and the zoom), is incredible and the design of the pieces with the ability to change their color is flawlessly put together. Very thankful that this app exists and lucky to have found it!
I'm not a adept chess player but my not bad either. I feel that this is a good mobile chess game for just about anyone can pick up and play. The CPU is sometimes makes bad moves but it can be a great way for people that wish to learn how to play chess to get quick easy experience.
The tilted orientation of the chess board is slightly inconvenient. Couldn't figure how to change the orientation. It isnt easy to make a move to a cell if it is partially eclipsed by some player. The clicks are not respected. Fix these and I will change the rating to 5.
Great with a stylus and great for beginners like me. The CPU makes dumb moves sometimes but unlike most other unforgiving chess games this one let's you get the hang of it on low levels. The custom colors are cool too. Wish it was multi player.
I miss the possibility to export the pgn, it would be minimal effort for you and maximum gain, one of the best tables to play the game and enjoy the design but, as milion of chess not super beginners I want to have then the possibility to analyze my game with other professional software mobile and desktop in the market since 30 years with hundred of technical features. Is ridiculous I have to sign my self the move I make. Amazing sound, I suggest you different sounds. Ex oven, ceramic etc
The game is one of the best game ever fully of IQ guides if you know. But lacking background changing feature, double players of different phone connection and low effect. Aside that it's the best game cause I quit all other games just to keep focus
This game clearly has some issues, in all cases the game only allows when the king is in danger only it can be moved, the most annoying part is other pieces near the king cant do the taking while this situation is in happening...that is really annoying..this issue needs to be FIXED
It uses grob gambit which is combined with some chess opening. What a mind-blowing... quite tricky for beginners. Great game though level 25 felt like level 10, the difference is just time of thinking.
A very good chess game. You can go back in your movements and also build situations and verify how you solve this "problems". You can plan your actions for a better learning. I do recomend this game.
I really like this! Moves are notated as they are made (f8 g7), board 3d layout is realistic, and pieces easily manipulated. So many games today are played online with 2d layouts it's good to practice with real-like board.
Can you please allow different metallic colors? It used to be this way on the really early versions of this app. You used to be able to move the white slider to the max and still edit the colors of the pieces...
I don't mean to be judgemental but this chess game does not have a user friendly GUI(graphic user interface). I know its not easy to develop an app but I have to say the truth. Thanks for your understanding. God bless you guys
why cant i change what color im playing... white always goes first... id like to be able to switch between white and black and why cant i change blacks color scheme? on my phone black is red... i want to make it black.. or some darker shade more associated with black...
This is an awesome chess app. You can customize the colors for black and white, you can choose what level the AI is and you can also watch AI versus AI and you can customize their levels (level 2 v level 5).
Only played one game but so far and everything seems OK. Looks great, runs smoothly. Only downer is that there's no online or wireless multiplayer mode.
this could be my fav, if it could have: 1-Auto change orientation for two human players, 2-Sometimes, its pieces can't be selected easily esp. which is behind a piece. Can you add Bluetooth multiplayer feature?
Real computer chess for real people like me. The graphics look so real, it's like having a real computer chess set with a real chess board and real chess pieces (How many times did I say the word "real"? Well, here I go again: real, real, real, real, REEEEEAAAAALLLLL!!! How's THAT for a closing word?! Was this review...umm, well...REAL enough for you?!!!).
Good graphics and features. Can't close app without restarting phone and it sometimes opens spontaneously. Fatal flaw!
At first I really liked this game except that I have large fingers and I have a lot of trouble moving the pieces I want. Also, just recently, it started self-changing difficulty level to 25...on its own. Anyone else have this problem? Third issue, sometimes it won't allow a move even if it is valid. It would be useful to have a way to back a move off if it was unintentional due to fat fingers. Thinking about uninstalling it and trying something else.
