3D Galaxy Map

★ Features ★A fully 3D model of the Milky Way Galaxy map
- you can rotate, zoom and move the galaxy in any direction.Information about all the known arms (Far 3kpc, Near 3kpc, Norma-Outer, Orion, Perseus, Sagittarius, Scutum-Crux) and the Galactic Core is displayed when the user touches the respective structure. From the galaxy overview, you can check the local stellar neighbourhood (The Solar System, Sirius, Epsilon Eridani, Alpha Centauri, etc) by switching to the sector scene, a 10 parsec cube. Touching a star will open up an info panel containing details about the selected star. You can visit any sector between (-5;-5;-5) and (5;5;5) without an internet connection, but to fully explore the entire database you will need to be connected.
★ Options Menu ★
- can toggle star names on/off in the sector scene
- can modify the star population (reducing results in an increase in FPS performance)
- can show an FPS counter in the bottom right corner of the screen
- can switch between any of the following languages (English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Russian)
★ Information ★This is the mobile version revamp of the galaxy map from http://www.3dgalaxymap.com/#/GalaxyMapInspired by the NASA annotated artist's concept from https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/multimedia/display.cfm?IM_ID=8083Currently contains the first two scenes
- the Galaxy and Sector Scene with a search system to retrieve any star by type, name, class. The following major updates are programmed to be released:Adding neutron stars (pulsars, magnetars) and black holes. The System Scene will grant the user the possibility to explore all the exoplanets discovered so far, and have a closer look at the solar system with its planets and dwarf planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Ceres, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto.

It makes a a horrible noise I can't mute whenever you select something. Text does it stay on the screen long enough you to finish reading it. It would be nice zoom into own star system for a sense of scale. Stellarium is much better.

I love this app!! I am working on a sci fi story and I need a good idea of the space around another star and this is great for visualizing! The only thing I wish I could do is to get a orthographic (not perspective) view of the area (I will need to do political maps at some point). Like double tap on the grid to flatten it down or something. Still awesome! Thank you! If you put that in on the paid version I will totally buy it.

The Best Map of the Galaxy App, EVER! It is 3D & SO cool. Packed full of information, I think I could explore it for hours without tiring. It is so handy to have this in my phone instead of carrying my laminated star charts. Most of the big stars and systems are present and accounted for, making it easy to go from point A to point B, no matter where your point B may be...

Great App, love the Parsec references. I'm an Astronomy educator, really wish i could find something like this for my laptop; especially when i do Kepler and Tess talks.

Not a good candidate to judge the app as I am a self-taught astronomy enthusiast. I have been using the map for a week or so and I am absolutely amazed by the overall quality and detail. Thank You to all involved in the development of the map it is the best representation I've ever encountered. Top Notch for sure. Peace, Bob R.

Very clunky and unintuitive ui makes it a frustrating experience. This could be a great app if it was cleaned up and had a better layout.

The first issue is that tabbed interface. It is confusing. There should be only one 3D model that I can zoon in and out of, like Celestia does. I also tried omyour other galaxy map app. And if is even harder to navigate the sky on that one.

Learning how star systems work and function has always been a joy to me. The map is easy to use and very understandable. Thank you to the astronomers that laid the foundation!

A "tap to select" feature for known stars would be great but this app lacks alot of detail that would otherwise be a great exploration tool. Too many ads.

I like the map, but I find it disorienting. I would like an arrow to a fixed point, like the galactic center as an aid.

Not necessarily what I wanted, but it works as it's supposed to. If you are looking for an informational app about the Galaxy than this would be perfect for you!

Awesome app! The best available map of the known star systems in our Orion Spur of the Milky Way. Easy to search catalogue as well.

Always had an interest in space, and there is data and information that I simply would not know if not for this app.

it's good app for considering the information of milky way and stars. but some parts of this app, need internet.

Zac. R. Feb 4, 2020

I was expecting a map that I could actually zoom up to the star myself and not have the facts about the star hogging half the screen
