Nice small app for take a quick look if you provided with the demanded speed, how narrow and good in signal strength the network is covered. Also you can pick only your provider, seeing the cell towers and the average experienced network stats for comparing. From the guts I guess it is quiet accurate and for the home use totaly fitting.
Although the app has a considerable array of features, it is still simple and straightforward to use. Furthermore, one of the reasons I'm giving it five stars is that there is no shortage of explanations for the technical terms having to do with telecommunications, wireless signals, data streams etc. I was never bothered by any ads, and the physical functionality of it and the extensive database of coverage maps is not lacking at all, in my opinion.
I'm presumably testing my cell service and WiFi connectivity with this app. It's working well within the limited stats it provides. I do like maps even if not yet perfect and more. Curious to see where this grows and goes.
I like it functionally but I don't trust it. I downloaded 3 test apps and they all showed me an average of about about 35 mps upload after multiple tests. This one kept showing 49 MPS upload (my plan has a 50-50 MPS limit). I think it's a marketing tool for the providers.
Average speed rank not accurate, it says average but it changes frequently by quite big difference. Network name does not change after switching mobile data from sim 1 to sim 2. Maybe not suitable for dual/multiple sim cards phone.
Well done, setting up Lte aerials are a breeze now. The app tells you exactly we're the towers or the closest tower is located, pointing you into its direction. Also the network that is strongest in that areas. I'm amazed.
Improved my signal tenfold, immediately, on test setup and rough guess at the direction of the nearest tower. I have a Verizon 4G phone which, prior to the booster, picked up only 1.2 Mbps download, 191 kbps upload, with 315 ms latency. Always had just one bar, frequently dropped calls. I now have just two bars, but 11.2 Mbps download, 1.57 Mbps upload, with 48 Ms latency. And it's not even up on a pole nor adjusted to the best angle yet! Phenomenal improvement.
This is the best cellular data signal booster I've ever tried. It has a unique feature that allows the user to spot towers and change position for a stronger signal. The app includes an coherent speed tester and a credible network availability. And of course, it doesn't bother with stupid ads as in other apps. I'm satisfied.
I am so disappointed. I use this app years ago when I had my S4. Back then it would show me a coverage map of the major mobile networks. This version seems obsessed with testing my Wi-Fi which is useless to me. I have an LG k51 through boost. It can operate on the LTE wcdma or gsm networks. Every screen in this app is useless or incomprehensible unreadable, unless you want to find the Houston zoo. There is no test nor map to show or compare the three networks. Completely useless.
In a dual SIM phone, the speed test report assigns test results according to SIM 1, even if SIM 2 were used for the test. I get pretty good speeds on AT&T (despite getting LTE+ only on my unlocked phone) so have that SIM in slot 1, but once in a while I want to figure out if T-Mobile 5G has improved to switch to SIM #2 for a test. These dismal results are then attributed to AT&T. Likely this means that OpenSignal's entire dataset is suspect.
A wonderfully diverse app. It gives you the opportunity to test your 4G 5G and WiFi speed. You can see where the towers from different carriers are in your area, and once you perform the speed test you will know your specific carrier's Network availability and whether the signal is 4G or 5G. A history, which can be erased, is made of all of the different places where you've checked your network availability through this app so you can see where your network is great or where it's lacking.
Nice App but it's not that accurate *sigh* since 3 March I don't have good network for indoor only 1 bar line sometime it went to E like 30KB speed. I wish someone add another tower at this bad coverage area it's like distant tower got block by building. Still not very accurate but it do tell my area had bad coverage that never improve nearly 9 years. Why did they disable 3G after this got disable my 4G become so unstable at this bad coverage area,3March 2022 is the day where I have 1 line only.
Does the same job as any other speed test app. Gives you fairly accurate and consistent readings when you compare with the likes of Ookl***. But the part where OpenSignal beats its competitors is that you get ZERO popups and ads. For this reason I uninstall Ookl*** and will now only ever use OpenSignal. Also they have a VideoTest utility within the same interface that gives you stats for streaming video over your network connection. AGAIN NO ADS. 5 Star app and would recommend to everyone
The app wants permission to make and manage phone calls. I refused to allow that, and the app doesn't work. Why does it need to dial telephone numbers to conduct network tests?
Tried this app before. Nothing has changed still the same results. Worse service with the app, better service without the app.
Here in Townsville, we have 3g4g5g. With this app, l can fine tune it for only 4g5g. Plus, it give you speedtests, phone speed and video speed on your phone. This app aloud you to choose which phone company your with so you can compare speed. The app gives you find a tower function. Oh yes, there is a function that allows you to change the color if your color blind. Many other apps don't give you that option. Foot note- Charleville is better.
Helped me setup a cellphone signal booster. The recommended app wouldn't connect with my new S22 cellphone so I used this app to locate the T-mobile tower and aim my directional antenna properly.
Accurate and reliable app that shows me exactly what speed my router is running at I have compared it with signal rester from a friend that does Wifi installation and it's spot on love this app thanks 👌👌👌👌
'Open Signal' is an app. to know the S. I. M.'s signal strength & test. It gives the S. I. M.'s signal strength of what S. I. M. we use, which helps to find the best place for better signal. It gives the S. I. M.'s signal strength that I beleive. I will defently recommend this app.
Very useful app I love it it has helped me pin point great signal as well as where I get no signal and everything in between.
Colour blind option isn't very useful to this colour blind person. Something with a blue to yellow gradation, or even black to white would be better!
Fantastic, I looked the net for a map to show mr the closest cell tower. I need it to help me dial in a highly directional 5g antenna. I can't see the tower. Ouch! But this app within 30 seconds of installing it popped up a compass that show the exact direction of the tower AND it put up a map showing the name of.the street closest to the tower. HOLY SMOKES. I AM THRILLED. (Not a paid endorsement)
New phone. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get a signal. Your app knew exactly where my cell tower was and that my carrier's signal 4g was 100%. So I went searching settings for reasons, and I found it, corrected it. I'm 4g at 100% now. Thanks.
Simple and effective, ponts to towers and gives all 3 data points for the signal. I use it constantly for aligning my antenna booster. The map function however is not as clear depending on signal strength it seems.
Simple and accurate, especially when you want to know how much downtime your provider does to your monthly data in total. If this feature become more solid with valid log, I'd even pay the percentage to the developer from the compensation I got after the settlement from provider for their disintegrity to fulfill their service contract. Let me know if anyone else is in agreement, so that we can have a better bottomline.
