Really horrible interface on Tidal. An absolutely abhorrence. Does not find items unless you spell 100%. Does not assist at all. Navigation from current play, to search, to other functions is not user friendly. The using of Tidal on 4Stream is just an absolute nightmare. Many NATIONAL (South Africa) radio stations missing on the internet radio function. The volume increments are rediculously high. Everytime I open the app, the streaming music breaks.
This app (and thus the Arylic device) simply does not work. I have a synology NAS with Music server on it (also DLNA compatible) but I cannot access it. It doesn't even manage to reproduce the music I have on my mobile. It works only with internet radio and payed services (i.e. Deezer). So either it is going to be improved or it is useless, and so also the Arylic devices. It is a pity because I already bought 2 and was planning to have even more, distributed in the house, but... that's it.
I've come to the point that this app has frustrated me so much, that I'm thinking of selling my two Arylic S50 Pro+ streamers. Firstly, it does not recognize or pick up my local files off my phone to play my own downloaded music. Secondly, when you open the 4Stream and go to music services to play via Spotify, it doesn't automatically connect to the streamers, I have to manually tap the speaker icon in Spotify to connect.
I'm using this app to control my Nord Easy-Stream streamer. I've not experienced any reliability issues as others seem to have. I suspect those are more related to the device than the app. I have used this app with Spotify, Tidal and now with Qobuz. All have worked well. The app could be a little more intuitive, but it's not bad. Spotify still leads the way in terms of usability, if not in sound quality. One gripe, I was using the "Internet Radio" option quite often, but it's been removed!
Needs work. The hardware is seriously let down by the mediocre software and I'm thinking of returning it to Amazon. As a piece of equipment it's first rate; it's small, powerful and offers many different streaming services. The one MAJOR drawback for me is the lack of a decent EQ. To hear the vocals in a TV program (I've got mine hooked up to a projector) means cranking up the volume and then lowering it for non dialogue scenes. Please provide a decent preset EQ and I'll revise my review. Thanks
(Pixel 4xl) Rarely do I ever go out of my way to leave a review. This is a fantastic product and the layout and goal behind the app is great. BUT, it is so unbelievably frustrating to use. Bugs after bugs constantly forcing me to force close to even be able to get anything done. If just a few of these bugs get sorted it would be a joy.
Latest update is almost unusable. Will rapid skip through several songs before it plays one. Exits all the way out instead of letting me go back to my album. Verified on my source app that the songs are, in fact, available. It was a little bit clunky from a usability perspective before but tolerable. Post update I wish my device wasn't depending on it.
The most recent update removed support for Pandora. Luckily the equipment this app controls still supports it. I had to download the old Apk from another source to get it working again. It is troubling when you buy into an ecosystem and the developers remove a key service from the product. There are some usability issues in general with the application. Pressing back behaves differently every time, and the whole app hangs up when you manage groups. Other than this, the app works for what me.
Extremely unreliable. Nice when it works, but randomly will fail to recognize that some or all of my three Arylic S10s are present on the network, even when I can identify and ping the devices from a terminal on my phone. Modifying the multiroom configuration also often (usually, unless a device has just booted up) fails with a message about the request timing out. Very frustrating because the app and devices are completely opaque. There's no way to help it.
Worked out of the box. Simple interface but has good functionality. Prompts to connect to the devices (arylic) were easy to follow. Could have a better method to cache information about my sound system (4 devices) to save time.. it has to repeat ping each time. Could have a notification area on Android to let me control play and pause from the android pull down - stop the music for instance while in another application
No real EQ, no awareness of other media apps on the phone, no Global volume control with side buttons in other applications - although the hardware produces fantastic sound, even through unbalanced 3.5 mm aux, even into up to 2000 Watts Amplified stacks with EQs, Crossovers and everything- I love the DAC on the acrylic Hardware, but this app needs serious work. Connection and set up is a breeze, no stuttering over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 is great, which is Hardware specific. 2.4ghz wifi only.
I enjoy the app throughly. One thing that I would like to see is the ability for the app to adjust its rendering to suite the orientation of the mobile device. Currently the app does not consider orientation (gyros) when rendering as I would like to use the controls In landscape mode as well...not only portrait.
Very nice - connected to a bridge router by wire and get my dlna libraries. Volume: not bad and still very nice to use - the volume, however, was stuck at one point through TuneIn (I think) Works great with Spotify, Internet radio, and DLNA Still need to try Bluetooth and usb. So far, Very nice, Looking forward to improvements and getting more
Works flawlessly with the Arylic S10 - zero complaints, great app. Used it for a few months now and having heard of issues in other apps, good stability is mandatory. Thankfully, this has it. Only thing I'd like to see added is the bitrate being streamed, otherwise, that's it. Recommended.
I use the app daily. I like it mostly but I have TWO requests to make it better 1) A way to create speakers group separately. I have multiple speakers and I often play individually and group them depends on a situation. I hate to u group them and group every time I make changes. I would like to have individual group option so I can create different speaker groups and just click on it when I want it. 2) it is not UX friendly to go back to speaker setting from a music player page.
I gave this a bad rating before. But I was the fault as I didn't have a strong enough Wi-Fi signal going to the units. 50% readings on their app just don't work. It has to be at least over 80%. That's solved all my problems and it really is a fine system.
Disconnects device when phone locks. Takes ages to reconnect. This app needs a complete redesign. The back arrow is in a silly place at the top left. Browsing back is almost impossible. Full of other bugs. Not seen any updates on the play store.
The more I try to use arylic 4stream I more I realise its absolute garbage. The WiFi keeps dropping out. If you use deezer (god forbid) you will realise that it will not allow you to sync or play more then 30sec. It just stupid that with b BT I will be able to use the actually deezwr app but with WiFi I have to use the non functioning built in app. It has so much potential.. so much.. but the implementation is just rubbish.
Up2stream is garbage and has been nothing but a pain, from the noisy ouput to the terrible bluetooth connection. The app worked once, but after a few days, it randomly reset and now provides a "fail" error when connecting, no matter how many times i re-install or reset the module. Im so done with arylic!
Expected issues based on some reviews but actually very straight forward with no problems running on my multiple android devices. In daily use finds all my streamers within a few seconds and does everything as advertised. Not a perfect interface but very good.
Ok but needs improving alot. Spotify connect is hit and miss. Would like the ability to create playlists using a mixture of sources..nas/spotify /quobuz etc. Searching a nas takes forever as it loads only so many albums at once then you have to refresh to move on a bit. Shame because the hardware sounds great
The NORD EASY-STREAM a small UK based audiophile WIFI streamer works flawlessly with this app and my signal isnt great. The app works in this regard in my case using spotify to stream to my Chord Qutest DAC . I have found if your brand hardware has issues look for a stronger aerial off Ebay for the device or a good secondary wifi router or wifi extenders. This boost the signal db if for your specific device. Play store also do signal strength apps. Some of this functionality would be nice 4S
Very simple to use application. What imho misses to 5 stars is a quick control in the notification drawer (and lock screen) and a better state feedback for the user (e.g. disable play / pause icon when connecting to streaming service).
Terrible app. Poor documentation. Keeps freezing. Inconsistent experience on different phones. Has no concept of playing an album. Shame because the Arylic device it is meant to control is excellent.
the app has a terrible user experience and is made shoddily. the worst thing is that it doesn't remember your devices and has to search for them every other time you open the app. keeps dropping bluetooth connections.
The most recent version is working a lot better than the previous versions. I have 5 devices, some wired and some wireless. The syncing between devices is spot on now. The app still freezes every once in a while, but at least the music is flawless now. Can't beat the price of the devices compares to Sonos, so I can deal with restarting my app every once in a while.
