511 Alberta

Since there aren't any other options that I am aware of, 511 is all we have. I do prefer the older version better where you could tap on a highway and see what the conditions were. I also miss having just a list of highways versus now having to scan the whole highway you wish to travel. My guess is they wanted a do it all app, however it has become quite confusing to use at the best of times.

The old version was way easier to navigate. Less cluttered. With one glance you could see all the highway and could zoom in on particular areas of concern. Now you see nothing until you zoom in. The snowplows are a nice touch with the option to disable. You have wrecked an awesome app.

Garbage app that used to be a lot better. The whole point of an app like this is to provide road conditions, which is what it used to do. Now it is overly complicated and lacking the features 99% of users want. There are better map apps built into your phone. The development team need to back to school to learn how to make a good app, or simply go back to the original version. Road conditions and cameras, that is what the end user wants. They don't want the bloated mess that this app has become.

CrApp. Tapping on a camera simply zooms in on that point of the map, until you've zoomed in enough for the icon to change to the camera icon, at which point you then have to convince the app you're interested in viewing the highway cam you've zoomed down to nearly street view level to select. Easier to go to the 511 website on your mobile browser.

The new version is terrible! Too many steps, too many menus, too much time wasting going through different options and still not getting what I want. Just give me the color coded map and I can zoom in to see my region. Simple.

So this is the 3rd time I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Would show nothing unless I logged in. Had to create routes to see highway conditions. Cumbersome. Seems a bit better with the latest install, but come on! Previous version (2018) was far better, easier to navigate. If this app was for anything else I would not have on my phone!

Good for little more than another map app. With access to cameras on the highways sometimes. Do not expect accurate road reports. At least in the previous app you could register to update road reports for other drivers but they changed that. As it is, the reports are usually wrong. Labeling roads that are covered in ice and partial snow as black(bare). Leaving reports of congestion on highways in the middle of nowhere as having traffic congestion for days or even weeks. Need chains? Go elsewhere.

The previous versions of this app were better for the camera views. In previous versions the camera views had other data like road surface temperature, air temperature, wind speed and wind direction. This data was especially useful for professional drivers.

Absolutely horrible. The previous version was great. Simple list of highways with all the cameras on that route. This login and save cameras is so stupid, especially for commercial drivers that are all over the province..if I need to know conditions, I just want one or 2 clicks. You "fixed" something that wasn't broken. Idiots.

Works great! Does NOT run in the background if you close it properly, at least with android. Has all the webcams built in as well, so it's super helpful since you can literally see the conditions.

I have 2 Android devices, on 1 nothing shows in the app window & on the other I can get a map page and nothing else. Every other window crashes. I gave 2 stars only for the promise this shows, but none for how it is now. Suggest reverting to the old app that works until this can be made useful. The old app gave us information, this version seems more geared to give 511 info about us.

too complicated, confusing. no need for all computer voiced/drive mode/destination nonsense. get back to basics of reporting road conditions. since when did snow covered roads become Pink color? definately a step back from previous version.

This app doesnt work as great since the update. Shows you the road condition but no details now. No details on if it is dry or wet or covered in snow or ice or even a time the conditions were last updated. Which is usually quite a few hours old most times anyway

Terrible. Unnecessarily complicated and hides the one basic feature--road conditions-- in the menu instead of keeping it front and centre. If I had any other options I'd use them instead.

I love this app. It has so many more features than the previous version of the 511 AB app, including traffic speeds and live updates to your route as you drive. The hands-free features are also a big plus.

This app is fantastic, totally handsfree and easy to use. The latest updates make it even better. One suggestion would be to make the road condition legend at the top of the screen bigger.

Alberta real time highway road conditions. Best most used app ever.

The new version of this app has quite the useful tools in it which I know I'm going to love. Anyone with the old app that updated to this and is having issues, i recommend to uninstall, then download the app again. Only way I got it to work.

MUCH Better Version! The old "Web-Wrapper" version was pretty much useless. This new version is excellent with a great layout. Very user friendly. *Please add Landscape View?*

This 511 is the worst ever! Save yourself, just go to the website! Bring back the old 511! You know the one that actually gave you information and road reports, and actually had all the hwy cameras to view.

I am liking the 511 app for its simplicity, but a suggestion would be to add a feature to show gas stations and prices like the AMA app, then I wouldn't need both apps on highway trips.

Does not tell you what the roads and highways are actually like ie. Snow covered or not recommended for travel.ect worse app ever last years app was better my suggestion is go back to last years app

Don't change it if it's proven. The older style was a thousand times better. This current version is VERY BAD. Goodbye 511 I will miss you. Uninstalled and will never look at this app again. 🖕511 Alberta.

This used to be a good app for road conditions but it now is just another Google maps no road conditions. When you close it it continues running in the background.

This is an update.. that app does have an option for snowplows. Thx 511 for explaining on how to find them. Legends and maintenance vehicles. App is good and easy to use.

Can't check highway conditions by route! Loved tha option on the old app. Nothing was broke, but you fixed it...NOT!😠

much more complicated than the old app, missing the overview in the map. don't like it!
