This app is GREAT for quick reference of 5e spells. It would be even better if they added a way to save multiple favorites lists. I play in multiple campaigns, and it's a pain to have to go in before every session and remake my favorites list from scratch. I'd easily give it a 5 star rating if that feature were to be added. Additional filters would be nice too, such as filtering by class instead of just alphabetically and by level.
Very easy to use and very handy to pull out in the middle of a session and quickly look up a spell, my only suggestion to the developers would be the ability to create profiles so you can store the list of spells you favorite for one character. I have multiple character and I think it would great to be able to quickly switch to a list of spells I favorited for them.
This is great. It is simple and easy to use. I can add all the spells in my spellbook to favourites and then it is easy to pull the description up. The only thing that would make it better for me would be the ability to filter spells by class so my wizard for example can find his new spell choices easier. Other than that it was one of the few apps I knew I was going to keep and use enough that I removed the adds. You can sort by class! Read the tutorial, you learn stuff! ;)
It used to be better. It was easier to read due to the spacing and borders. You could search with certain filters. It had a drop down menu instead of a tap list order. Now it doesn't have any reliable search or filters. It also glitches when you try to show favorites, showing a repeating list of the same spell.
This app is great! It has all the spells, you can see the description and go back, and add them to your favorites. I gave it 4 though because I think it could improve quite a bit with the following features: - Ability to filter spells by class. I'm trying to look for the Bard spells so I don't need the entire list. - Spells known - ability to add on the page your favourite spells, but equip or tag the ones at the top that you know. - Ability to filter by your level Other than that it's great!
Perfect for quick looking up the spells for when I am running my D&D games! However Since the last update I believe everytime I open the app up it closes itself again. More so when I filter or scroll through the lists. Could somebody tell me why, as it is quite disruptive for my games as well. Would change the rating for a fix. Thank you!
Its a good app! I love that it has a huge amount of spells for free! The only issue I have with it is that sometimes it crashes and the ads make it freeze up once and a while. But for a free app it's amazing! I love that I am able to save my favorites and view only them, that way I'm not scrolling forever to find the spells I use frequently.
filtering by using the search bar does not work. the spells are indexed incorrectly. minor illusion for example doesn't have the comma in between illusion and wizard, causing it to not show up if searched for both terms. also the hitbox for the star is too small, backing up twice (menu and textbook appearing) in addition to an ad on a misclick isn't that big of a deal, but infuriating when it happens about 10 times a minute. me and my fat fingers will be using using a different app for spells.
It's great, but the one thing it's missing is that it lacks the ability to catagorize only by level or class. For example, If I were playing a warlock and wanted to know what cantrips are avalibe to them, I would have to look through all of the cantrips just to find the ones that warlocks have. In short, I wish I could search by class.
Great app! I live how easy it is to look up the spells and favorite the spells! just one bug that I found, when you favorite the spells and toggle to only show favorites it duplicates the list. when you exit the app then come back in and toggle to only show favorites it will duplicate again and continue to do this every time! hopefully there is a fix soon! thanks for the awesome app!
Absolutely fantastic app for players and game masters. Easily searchable by Name, Class, or School, and sortable by Level or Alphabetically. Content is extensive, the descriptions are pretty much word-for-word from the books, and you can favorite (*) to have a shorter list at a glance. Ads are occasionally full-screen, but aren't usually in the way, although it's worth paying the Dev for. 10/5 stars.
Use in my games as a DM for quick reference. Does exactly what I need. Only 4/5 because I would like the filter system to be more polished. Being able to sort by spell level, class, or school and any combination of these things. I wish it worked incoordination with the other 5e products from the developer just so I don't have to flip through the 4 apps I have from them!!
This app has a lot of potential as a dnd playing assistant, However it crashes whenever i try looking spells up and finding class specific spells for the first time is difucult. It would be a lot better without the crashes and a better filter system for classes like how other apps by these devs has splits between classes, races ect. I might consider it if the crashes weren't so common.
It's a near-perfect app for what is asked of it. All the information on each spell, as described in their respective handbooks, are there. Filtering spell type via search is very effective. My only suggestion is this (granted that I haven't missed the capability): create a way to separate the spells by their handbook (ie., PHB. XGE. etc.). Our DM doesn't use XGE info, so it requires of me deeper perusing to find spells that don't come from it. Otherwise, a great app.
Super fast way to find a spell and its effects. As a DM, this is really useful for when a monster has a bunch of spells and I need to figure out what to cast on short notice. My main use though has been to look up a player's spell when they cast it. Makes it so much easier both to parse the spell's description, and to make a ruling when the player conveniently omits a key part of that description...
Love this app; so much faster than looking online or in a deck. Looking forward to the sorting feature, and hope it includes an option to exclude certain results (e.g. wizard spells -cleric spells) to help with decisions to dip into other pools. One thing I did notice is that artificer spells are now tagged (thank you!!!) but not cantrips yet.
Except for the adds popping up frequently, this app is amazing. When unlocking new content, the app tends to either not show up or get burried. When i search for the new stuff, i can't seem to find it and when i favorite it, it does not show on the favorites only list.
The app is actually really useful, and im currently using it to run a campaign, but a function that would be greatly appreciated would be the ability to add custom spells, as my players have come up with some interesting ideas, but I have no real place to put them for easy access. Thanks!
So. very. good. The fact that I can search not just by name, but by class too, is wonderful. I Love this whole app series. My one request is that I could make different lists of favorites. Would be so nice to be able to make different lists for different characters.
This would be a 5 star app if it also worked in landscape. As a new DM, this has become an invaluable app for me in session, but having to change to portrait for the few seconds I need it, and then back to landscape for my main use of my tablet, gets a little annoying.
Really useful for looking up spells on the fly. As a DM, this app is a must. The only thing I would like to have is a way to filter searches based on components needed (Vocal, Somatic, Material) for when you are building NPCs or encounters. Even so, it's a great app.
Great Quick Reference for DMs and players. A little outdated and missing some things but core materials all seem accurate and easily interfaced. I wish the Artificer spells list could be updated to include the cantrips and be able to search by schools of magic (abjuration, evocation, ect.) While also still searching by class.
Ive been using this for awhile and turned most of my players onto it. Its easy reference and quicker than searching through the PHB. Saving favorites is great, only downside is i wish i could save multiple "character" favorites so i wouldnt have to screenshot all my spells each time between campaigns... Other than that. Awesome. Will continue to use/recomend. Quickly paid but would pay much more if the spell favorites had revistable "folders" or such.
Great app, just what I needed. Only disappointed that I paid for no ads (highest tier) and still get ads... maybe it was just supposed to reduce the frequency of ads but that wasn't clear. Still going to use, because it suits my needs.
I like this app for spells but it really needs a way to set up spell books and memorized lists. It also needs to add the price of spell scrolls too learn the spells even if its a ball park amount. For filters it needs class and by level filters by this i mean you should be able too set it too wizard level 2 spells in the filters right now you cannot do that.
Brilliant app. I wish the filtering options had class and spell level (sorcerer cantrip wizard 1st level etc) i would assume the spells are either spreadsheet entries or database entries. Spreading out those items in each entry would make sorting and searching really awesome! Thanks for all you do
Sort alphabetically or by level, but there are no filters whatsoever. That's very basic functionality missing for an app that's literally nothing but a long list. Artificer spells are outdated- from UA and not Eberron. I like the favorites list feature, but the ability to make multiple lists (one for each character, for instance) would be much more useful. It does what it says, but there are simply better alternatives that are also free
