If Wizards of the Coast were going o make their own spell book, they should just buy this one. It's amazing! The UI works great and it's pretty easy to use. I'd say the only things could could improve it would be to choose custom colors for lists, have a DC number category, how many spells you have prepared and be able to distinguish which spells count against that, and make an option for filters to say on what you selected even when app is closed
Like many other mentioned, since they added Tashas, no other spells are availible no matter what you do. I loved this app as a DM it was super to look up spells on the fly. Now, useless. Premium user for years. This problem has been fixed. Updated score. Still pretty slow in adding new sources
Edited review #2: I was seeing ads even with premium version, but the dev seems to have fixed that and I am no longer seeing them! Appreciate the quick response. This really is my favorite spell app due to the bulk of information per spell and filter options. Glad to see it's well taken care of! Only thing I'd love to see is an option to filter by school of magic, but still a wonderful tool at the table.
I love this app on my android phone...it was great to go back and forth between my tablet and phone, but it seems like support has been dropped for the tablet version so there are no updates for new content.... Edit: went to install new update...lost all my characters, my purchase record and the ability to download saves from Google drive......
Used to be a really amazing app I couldn't go without when playing 5e. But sometime within the last few updates its become glitched and only shows spells from Tasha's and Frostmaiden. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. Also reached out to the owner of the app, and haven't heard back. Very disappointing. Hopefully this can be corrected soon, as I used to think this was easily 5-stars.
I use this both for DMing and playing live games, as it does a great job via the search system in addition to giving all the spell details, unlike the physical spellcards. The only current failing of the app is that Tables for spells like Animate object do not work in dark mode (galaxy s10). I hope the authors keep updating it though.
Review #2. App still good as ever and very friendly and simple to use. Along with how they dont keep the d&d spells and ua spell behind a paywall. Recently it be slow for me sometimes even crashing. Hope that will be fixed soon. Once again it a good app to be using (Edit since Idk how to contact them other then by this. ) But will there be an update with the Ravnica, Eberron and Explorer guide to wildemount spells. Along with the Artificer as a class option in the filter?
Wonderful app, I've used it for years but it's in desperate need of an update, Explorer's Guide of Wildmounte has been out for a while but I still haven't seen a single dunamatic spell. There are also some subclasses it doesn't recognize including Oath of Redemption.
More sources than any other spellbook app which is amazing! But, some spells are missing some text / the text isn't organised well, and the dark mode has an issue with images/tables. Will gladly send screenshots by email, if you don't mind giving me your email address!
Ad covers 75% of screen. Literally unusable. A shame, as i really liked this app. Enjoy the 10 cents you got from showing me an obtrusive ad like that. It's less then the amount you could have gotten from smaller ads in the long run, cuz I wont be using the app anymore
Great app, works as advertised. The only small bit of criticism I can offer is once you make a favorite there is no way to rename it. So if you want to change a name of a spell lost the only way to do that is too delete and start over.
It's a great app, very useful for me with both PCs when I'm a player, and NPCs when I DM. But I have noticed a glitch with the app so if the developers are checking these. The 5th level spell Creations description is partly unreadable. The color scheme is too bright on it. It's not a gripe since I just looked up the rules in the PHB but just figured I'd let yall know about it. Great app
The only thing i think would make a great improvement is the ability to transfer cuatom spells tried doing this by moving a character with custom spells and it erased all my stuff. So a sapportes way to do this would be very helpful.
I've used the app for at least 3 years now, and it has always been the best among spell apps. I also appreciate how thorough the devs were, including spells from the main books, modules, and unearthed arcana. The last update removed all the spells from other source books than Tasha's or Frostmaiden. I tried using the setting to change source books, and removing Frostmaiden and Tasha's from the list leaves a blank list under all spells for all classes. Once fixed, I'll change my rating to 5⭐
This app is easy to use and keeps getting better! (I appreciate the dice roller and condition keywords). Is it possible to add custom spells that contain a bulleted list? (similar to Druidcraft for example)
Very quick and very useful. I use it almost every session to quickly find description of a spell. The sorting function is useful when building a spell list for someone.
Use to be good. But I had to reinstall it on my tablet a few days because something was wrong with the app and when I had reinstall it it only had 6 books being "Basic rules, players, elemental evil, unearthed arcana, adventures guide, and custom" AND THAT IS ALL. But when I look at my brother's app he has 20 different books that is including the 6 I mentioned earlier but that is 14 books that I had but don't anymore so where did they go how do I get them back of this on purpose or acedent not g
All spells with multiple sources should have separate entries for each source, as there tend to be (sometimes important) differences between what one source says a spell does and another. As of 2019/08/30, this appears to be the case again.
It's a very useful tool and has a lot of good information. Been using it for 3 years. Any problems brought up are fixed relatively quickly. The best part is when the app is downloaded you don't need internet.
I used to love this app and used it nonstop. However, once I uninstalled it and reinstalled it due to it not updating properly, it has now trapped me on the original version with only the very basic features.
Unfortunately my last review still true, very nice app but the updates are kinda slow. Wildemount and the last Unearthed Arcana both released with new spells that failed to be included into the app quick enough. This revisions and adding new spells as quick as they are available is what this app lacks to be a 5 star app.
Great spellbook app! The ability to add your own spells is an excellent feature for any game using homebrewed content. My only complaint is how many of the spells have multiple duplicate entries, listing different sourcebooks. If these duplicates were cleaned up, I'd give the app 5 stars.
Lot of great features. Only one I would really like to be added is the ability to filter spells by casting time.
I use this for all of my D&D campaigns. It is absolutely amazing! The writing is perfect, and it uses the text I set for my phone! Perfect.
A great app, with a simple intuitive spell creater. However one down side is there is no way to add spells to the artificer or a customer class.
Fantastic app with a simple interface containing all the needed information and with the ability to make your own character spell lists and add notes to spells in the event of modifications
I've used this app for years but suddenly it says that I have premium but no access to features. I believe is error but fantastic app
Used to be great. A few months ago almost all the spells disappeared from the app. Edit developer fixed the bugs and is back to being the best spell book app.
The newest update has rendered the app mostly useless -- it only shows spells from Tasha's Cauldron, no matter what sources you choose in settings. I'm sure a fix for this issue is coming in the future, and I'll be happy to change my rating when it does. UPDATE: The newest version has fixed the bug, and the app is great again. Thanks for fixing it!
