6 News First Alert Weather

This app WAS great. Recently, it has become flooded with full screen, misleading ads, such as ads designed to look like severe weather notifications that trick you into clicking. These malicious, possibly dangerous full screen ads pop up over everything. Check radar. Ad. Go back to the daily. Ad. Hourly. Ad. Also, the station weather alerts are multiple times per day for no reason. "A new station alert" to tell me it's sunny outside. This has all made the app unusable, which is a shame.

This app makes it really easy to plan for weather. So far, it's as accurate as any weather predictor can be in my opinion.

My understanding when I downloaded this app was that it was for weather alerts during bad weather such as tornadoes, snow storms etc. But it seems that recently it's constantly sending alerts for Sunny day, beautiful evening. It's really annoying, to the point that I now just ignore it so I guess that means I have no use for it and it's time to delete.

App itself is very easy to use and gives up-to-date weather info. However the app often freezes and operates slowly. Usually I can open the app and see the home screen but not be able to interact with anything. So when it's working it's great but that doesn't happen very often.

Omaha Channel 6 Weather App provides current, hourly, and ten day forecasts that are quick and easy to access. Other channels' apps are slow, poorly organized, or mess up your phone. 6 Weather is the superior choice.

*Update- they fixed the issue and it's once again a great app. I used to love this app, but had to uninstall because of loud "news station alert" announcements that I couldn't mute or turn off. Please fix, I miss this app!

It's a nice app for weather. However they have recently began to play annoying Hyvee video ads when you click on the weather. Also other annoying audio alerts which I tried to block. Sorry WOWT you ruined it. Will use another app for my weather. Now showing Joe Biden political ads. Uninstalling. Update Nov 2021 virus pop-up fake 'crime alerts' deleting app.

It announces "a weather alert has arrived" quite frequently, which can be pretty annoying. If there is a way to disable that feature, I haven't figured it out yet. Otherwise a great app.

Great weather app. We travel in an RV and it gives our current conditions and radar wherever we go.

I use to love this app and used it all the time. Then the app updated and I turned off all notifications but I would still get and audible alert "A new station alert has arrived" in a man's voice. So frustrating that I couldn't turn it off so I uninstalled the app.

Recently this app has become very glitchy and unreliable. Video playback is so glitchy that it pauses every second or so. Often when I open it the all will not load and I have to force stop to get it to load. I am loyal to 6 News but this app is really trying that loyalty.

Was a great app until recently. I have to restart my phone every time because it plays ads that won't go away. Even after I close the app down the ads keep playing. got to the point though I couldn't even check the weather anymore.

It's nice when it works. Most of the time when I try to watch the forecast videos it glitches and won't show anything. I have to close the app and reopen it a couple times. Probably has something to do with all the ads.

Best weather data and easy to use

Problem with quicken adds. Get full screen adds that show no exit and cannot back out. Have to restart the app several times just to be able to use it.

App was fine and I understand the need for advertising revenue. But full screen audio on ads are obnoxious.

How come settings don't stay set? I don't need the voice telling me that it'll be more cloudy today. Turned it off only to have it announce a few hours later that the sun was coming out. Severe weather alerts? Yes, needed. But weather alerts that I can see looking out my window? NOPE.

Is there any way you can stop having it say "A new station alert has arrived!" ? I have all the sounds off therefore it shouldn't be making any sounds. I want the notification but i do not need someone to announce it.

No security on this app download, my download had a very offensive game attached to it, everytime you opened it, a game started playing, be very carefully here, Very disappointed with channel 6, my IT personnel informed me that it did come in through the app, and it was a very destructive app attacking my phone.

Deleting app - ads are ridiculous

The app is okay, but the meteorologists suck! I'm on the wrong business. I need to do my job rite to collect a paycheck. These meteorologists obviously dont!

Even with notifications off my phone still has random dude making announcements multiple times! Overall good info, just can't have random notifications going off!

The update that was installed yesterday that now causes game ads to play any time I change tabs is ridiculous. It takes longer for the ad to play than looking at the information I wanted on a tab.

Station alerts are announced more than necessary, I think... one is being announced all the time. Only necessary when big changes are taking place!

The latest update of this app has it not finding my current location, and, the station notifications keeps getting turned on when I close the app.

Best up to date weather app in have ever used

Used to love the app, but recently, it doesn't follow my location, it changes back to Omaha. Very frustrating.

Best Weather app I've ever had, when a storms coming or whatever you would like to see the Radar best one I ever had. Try it you'll love it.

Tried to install app. Was giving the run around to get install finally got where ii was supposed to get to down load but was told my phone was usable sad! Well find a app that will work.
