7 Little Words

Rating dropped from 4 stars to 2. I have played this game faithfully for several years, and have loved it until now. The latest update ruined it for me. I've always turned off the word length and have never used other hints. Now they try to bribe you to play "Expert" and "Pro" modes to get useless "stars." Thanks to this"update" I can only play the way I prefer by paying the ridiculous subscription fee. Not happening.

Don't like the new updated app. I have an android Samsung Galaxy 8 phone and does not seem compatible. Loads very slow and takes forever to play one game. Please fix this or give an option to use the old version. Loved the old version. I've been playing this new version but this last week it freezes up my phone when I try to log out. Also have to push hard to get the letters to work. Need to make this app more compatible for android phones.

Great game over all. A recent update has made it difficult to play while I'm at work. When I launch the app, it gets hung up on the Blue Ox screen that says "handshake complete." It will hang there for minutes before it lets me play packs that I have purchased. I usually play this game while at work because it functioned perfectly when I don't have a good Internet signal. Apparently this has changed...Requiring a net signal to play packs that I have already bought. Net signal at work is poor.

Are you kidding me??? I've played this game for more than SIX YEARS, and I did so because I liked how simple it was. By that, I mean there were no ads, no frills, no bullsh*t. Now you've gotten so greedy that you want to charge to play "expert mode??" You've taken what was once a wonderful thing and completely and utterly ruined it. Uninstalled.

WAHHH!!! The new update is awful! I've been playing daily for years & LOVED the old format. The new one is slow to load & awkward to use. And I can't access the puzzles in packs I PAID FOR because the popup never goes away so puzzles can't be selected. PLEASE GIVE OPTION TO USE OLD FORMAT!! I'm so sad.... :'(

I love the way this trivia app is set up and how the hints are. I don't understand why you have to pay for every thing. There are packs of 10 puzzles that you have to pay at least 2 dollars for when they're easy puzzles. Just wish there were more than just the dailys.

Requires you to spend money. No thanks. I was playing on Fire but learned Amazon was no longer supporting it. So I installed it on my phone and lost over $20 of purchases. Then found out that after the initial 30 puzzles and 15 daily puzzles you have to spend more money in order to get more puzzles. I am immediately uninstalling.

The game itself is great but since the last upgrade the ads are almost impossible to exit. The "x" is miniscule and deep in the corner of the screen. Very annoying

I love this game, but ever since the 10-year anniversary, it's been adding extra updates. At first, I didn't mind, but I'm not sure I like the most recent update. The tiles are further down on the board than I would like and they took away the smiley when a puzzle is solved and replaced it with stars. The "well done" sound chimes too soon/doesn't allow the complete sound of the final tile. *I adjusted to the updates from Jan. 8th. Yet again, there are more updates. Please leave it alone now.

*UPDATE* Knocking off another star based on the recent updates for one simple reason: TOO. MANY. LONG. ADS. I legit spend as much time looking at ads as I do playing the actual game. If your goal was to make a previously great app even more unbearable to play, you've succeeded.

I enjoyed this game for a long time. Then a few days ago when I tried to open it, a "text to speech" pop up came on my phone. I tried every way to get rid of it to no avail. So I Uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall it, but it wouldn't load. So I gave up and tried again today. So today it loaded but when I clicked on it to play, all I got was a screen with only the number of words in the answer but no letters or definitions! So WHAT'S GOING ON? Very disappointed as I liked the game! Help!

I've had this on my PC for years. Of course, there are no ads on the PC, but at least these ads are reasonably quick, you are not interrupted during the game, and the games are not timed. They start you off with quite a lot of games for free, but then, unless you just want a small taste of this every day, it will cost a little bit of money to play, but there are a lot of options as to how you can do that. But, I love it for a totally different kind of word game. It's quick and fun.

Daily free ones are fun and not too hard, work fine. However.... My paid pack started freezing then closing the game. Cannot play a game that is constantly closing - and I'm irritated that it is only on one I spent real money on.

I love this game. It gets you thinking, but more so much to the point of frustration. I gave it a four star, because I don't understand why they lock the previous puzzles. I wish they wouldn't do that. Upcoming puzzles, sure, I understand that, but the latter... no sense.

A fun little word game, though sometimes the definitions seem a little odd. The 10th anniversary update (and subsequent updates)... the look is good, easier on the eyes than the original, and the 'autocomplete' is nice. However, it is very slow to load, and slow for the first few taps to be accepted - and my tablet is only a year old, with not much on it.

I've played this game for years and I really wanted to get on with the newer version but... There's all these new, messy hints that just get in the way and I can't see any option to disable them, the colour scheme on dark or light mode is ugh and there's no options to revert to the old look (I miss sepia!), and the whole layout is needlessly different. I'd say "Hey, at least I kept my multiple puzzle packs", but as I don't really enjoy playing any more, what's the point?

Ever since I upgraded to Android 11, I've had problems with this app (only). I can play the current daily puzzles, no problem, but when I try to play some of my packs, it freezes, then closes the app. At first, I thought it was a conflict with my music app somehow, because when this app crashed, my music would stop. But I've continued to have the same issues with this app regardless of having no other apps running. It's a shame, I enjoy the game, but it's hardly worth the frustration.

Later in the game they increase the difficulty by making increasingly vague hints and equally more obscure answers. I was gonna see how they could continue to keep the game going without having to resort to that. Wordle, for example, keeps all its words simple and is still challenging. If you can't increase the challenge of the game without increasing the complexity of the words beyond a casual's level then the game starts to fall apart for me IMO. Still having a blast playing it tho!

I really like the game, and the app. All very good quality. But eventually you get tired of the big stretches in definition. They use like the 15th or 17th definition for a lot of stuff, even in the very easy puzzles. And sometimes the clue is wrong all together. Ultimately its worth a month subscription, maybe two. I got too frustrated though. I'm somewhat of a grammar freak lmao. I don't like words stretched beyond their actual context and meaning.

It took me awhile to fully appreciate the new look of the app but I am enjoying the updates and new features. The puzzle quality is awesome, and I play every day to take advantage of those great little brain exercisers. What I've always loved about 7LW is its simplicity in terms of user interface and being devoid of unnecessary extras. I hope it will retain those features when the app gets any future 'makeovers'.

Haven't played in a long time and was nervous of the new design. I absolutely hate it. You get 100 free puzzles (outside daily), you can't unlock new packs, so you have to pay to play basically everything. 1 hour of the game before I needed money to continue. The clues are horrible and sometimes downright wrong. There's so much wordplay that the answers hardly make sense.

I've had this game for years and bought all the packs. Just redownloaded it since I took a break from it 6 months ago and the new interface is absolutely awful. I can't find an option to restore my purchases (which I have been able to do no problem every time I've gotten a new phone). 100% disappointed that this app is what it is now. Absolutely will not pay for all the packs again (and the prices are so high now!). Will not play it until my purchases are restored. Is also ugly as all get out.

Keeps my memory stronger. I have recently experienced something strange. For some reason one letter square remains on the board after I have successfully completed a game. I've tried to correct it but it still includes that ame as unfinished. Annoying at most but doesn't stop me from continuing to play the remaining games.

I have been playing 7LW for over five years. While I am happy to see the game evolving & getting updates, this latest update has issues with unresponsive button pressing & general lag. I shouldn't need to press the NEXT PUZZLE button 10+ times to get it to activate correctly. Or 4-5 times for a word component. This is with all setting options turned off; finger or stylus. This update was clearly not QA tested for enough (or any) devices before launch.

I used to LOVE this game,then they changed the look. I hate everything about this now. They took a game,with a perfectly fine interface, and changed it to this convoluted mess, with a distinctly juvenile look. I know I'm being vague, but if you played the game in the past, and play it now, then you'll know what I mean. Maybe new players who don't know any differently,won't have an issue. 2 stars because the (type) of puzzles are the same.

You bothered to make a UK vs US spelling option, but you didn't change the actual clues. Plus even if you click "I already know how to play this game" you still need to put up with the tutorial levels. Also, jalapenos are not a hot chilli/pepper. They are quite mild and flavoursome which is why they're usually added in sizeable chunks to stuff. They're on the low-mid thousands on the Scoville scale which goes into the millions at the high end. Not a hot chilli/pepper. Rant over.

If you like word games, this is for you. Sometimes the answers come so clearly but other times they are very challenging. There is an ad between games and you get 5 free games per day. This game and Wordle are my favorites

I played this years ago and loved it. Woah...so much different. This used to really seem to be nice people behind a nice game but a subscription??! its not cheap. Ive played similar games that are no ads. I understand the work involved but sheesh. The new text is WAY to tiny. Instructions and manner of getting the games is confusing. Clues often so obscure or "clever" it gets tiring and tedious to have fun.So, so many, better ways to do this unique game than ads,ads or subscription:/

Laggy, bloated, oft times unresponsive. Letter tiles sometimes stay on the playfield after being used or in the answer field on a priceding puzzle. Needs some bug fixing and a lot of optimization.
