8bit Painter - Pixel art maker

Exactly what we need it to be. No ads, no stupid stuff and no pay-to-use content, just a pixel art maker and editor. The interface is very easy to use and the tutorial contains everything it has to. Only problem, the color picker is only a HSL wheel, we can't input a hex value to get a color.

I really like this app! For pixel art it's really nice. I would like to see some sort of sort feature and folder feature where you can put you can group your art together. For example: Food folder for food art, animal folder for animals and such. I won't stop using the app if these things aren't added but it would be a nice feature to have.

Perfect for a starter like myself. Simple, nothing complicated just download and go. I'm using it for Minecraft designs and it is perfect. It loses a star because colour selection is kind of random. You should be able to use the hexadecimal system for accurate colours. Also on my phone (pixel 4a) it just as often makes a line as move the screen when I'm trying to move the picture around.

I like this app alot. It's very easy to use, I've seen other reviews saying you can't animate with it, but with just about 2 other apps it's completely possible. (I personally use IBISpaint and flipaclip as well when making animations) but I can agree on one part, which is it would be kinda cool to see an animating feature in future updates, but for beginners such as myself, 10/10 recommend!

Color picking can be a bit frustrating but not enough to lower it to 4 stars. App is cute and easy to use, plus it doesn't limit you to one pixel size. Don't know about ads, I usually have wifi and data off so even if there are any they don't show up for me.

As a beginner in 8-bit art, this app is the simplest, most straightforward 8-bit drawing app I found and is far much easier to use than other pixel drawing apps. My only suggestion is to make it easier to export drawings to the gallery, because it took me a while to figure out how to. Other than that, very great drawing app and I highly suggest it!

Its a very simple yet amazing app. Very easy to use and very easy tutorial. Can you guys add animation in the app. I make my pixel art here and there will be 6 or maybe 7 images of them by frames(for animation) and transfer it to my pc to animate it on piskel online which is not a big deal but it could be cool though.

Lacking in UI - needs a way to organize artwork, no way to make folders. This is a basic feature that should be included with a free account. Has an easy to use img import system for pixelizing pictures, good tool for indie game development

Horrifically frustrating. Nothing like working for hours, for it to freeze and reopen itself with almost no progress. So, start working again, boom, freezes and takes me back to the previous progress. Almost like it saved itself at one point, and will not save any progress past that point. Fix this. Unacceptable.

I appreciate the ads being shown only AFTER you finish your art and not like one of those "Watch an ad to use basic colors!" type apps. There's no interference with making things so it's super easy to work with, and I had a lot of fun making what I needed! Thank you.

The app will stop working on really important pieces that I'm trying to make, it's always when I have a lot of progress on a picture higher than 160×160 and when I try to go back to the picture, it will ALWAYS restart to the beginning of what I created.

The game has so many different opportunities and gives you many colours. It could use more options to make different styles of drawing/paintings but in the end its a good game and you can probably use it to make nft's.

Fantastic pixel art app, easy to use and super fun. Only recommendation I would make for it is to be able to import a picture as a background layer so you could trace out the picture.

Great app, non intrusive with ads, easy to use. I look forward for more updates, like the possibility to generate a gradient or multi-color backgrounds, and maybe some automation to generate and save with different backgrounds. Thanks! Great job!

Love the app super useful, the feature where you can import images is very well made and helpful 10/10 but I would like more customization with he brushes and fill tool. Would definitely recommend.

Great app overall has tons of canvas sizes I love there tutorial explaining how to use it all through its super simple to figure out. There is ads but there not obnoxious like other apps, you only get ads when your downloading your art and even then I don't always get an ad

Amazing it is so easy to use. I suggest this app if you want to do some pixel art.but there is a glitch were I gets kicked out if I place pixels too fast. but other than that it's a good app! Edit. Thanks for fixing the glitch well at least making it harder

So far so good. Really user friendly, and truly a whole lot of fun. One of the best 8bit apps on here. Perfect app for creating some cool 8bit pieces. This app also comes in handy when I have some time to kill. FUN. Thinking about upgrading.

Fantastic application. Really easy to use. One or two little nitpicks - rather than having to scroll down through your pics, the last work you did stay at the top? Maybe a cut & paste option also?

Ever since the last update there are white lines between the pixels in grid off mode which defeats the purpose of having the grid off. I assume it's a bug so hopefully it'll be removed soon.

Amazing app! It helped me so much, especially in making game textures and such. Also it's pretty simple and easy to use. Don't like the excessive ads sometimes though.

It's supposed to be a good app, but still more works to be done. One problem with mine, this can't import images, always says "image import failed"

It's pretty cool but it's a little hard, on this game I had just got a grid and stared at it not knowing what to do. If you could give pixel art lessons then that would be great for me and all of the other people who play this game. Other wise this game is awesome 👍

I'd love to give it 5 stars, but it lacks many important features, such as the feature to create frames and animated gifs. This is basically necessary if you want to move beyond the most basic beginner level, so if you actually start getting advanced with pixel art you'll likely want (or in my case need) to find something better. This is a good basic app, but rated 3 stars for it's extreme lack of advanced utility.

I love this app, it's easy to interact with and very good for abstract design. However, other forms of tools for wider variety of designs should be added.

This app is really nice to make pixel art I like the grids and overall how simple the app is But I would like new features such as layers and also to customize the length and width of the canvas

When i swipe gallery and then go back it gets me back to the beginning, and it s annoying. I will set 5 stars if you fix this. Also, would be good if you add some animation tools.

Amazing application for creative minds. If you love 8bit arts then this definitely worth a try.

This is a very well-made pixel art app, accessible and easy to use, just like it should be. I like how you can import images, but if it doesn’t match the canvas resolution, it gets scaled down, sometimes resulting in uneven pixels. There aren’t much tools, and you’re stuck between using a small range of canvas sizes, all of which are 1:1. Drawing can be a bit awkward on a touchscreen, but that’s not the app’s fault.

For me, this lacked a ridiculously necessary ability to show the image at actual size. There is no way (that I can find) to zoom out. You can zoom in to almost absurd levels where a single pixel fills the entire screen, but ability to zoom out would be great. Honestly, I can't give much more of a review because I stopped using the program after realizing that it lacked this feature. It makes it extremely difficult to get an idea for what the drawing will actually look like at actual scale.
