I really do love the nine news app it definitely helps me to can to continue to watch the weather and news I can definitely take it anywhere I can go I also want to see some different improvements later down here the road and then also doing everything and would like to see definitely love it I don't know if 9 news is going through a transition but I see new and different people on the show what happened to Erica Lopez.

In addition to what I said below, the articles are full of typos... The new update is way too slow. -Opening animation looks nice but takes an unnecessary amount of time, especially after you have used the app a few times and watched the animation each time. -initial loading of home page takes up to 30 seconds or doesn't load at all. -home page is much harder to read top stories and see breaking news. This is the classic case of why you don't fix what isn't broken.

Has recently become all but unusable. Every time the app loads or reloads an advertisement, which is constant, it returns you to the top of the main page not matter how far down you were browsing. Same thing happens when you read an article and return to the main page, it takes you back where you had been, but then zips you back to the top. FAR too many ads to begin with, and they've now ruined the app.

Clunky and obnoxious. Stories are interrupted mid-read with irrelevant advertising. Cannot swipe from story to story as in the previous version, you have to return to the home screen to find the next "interesting" headline. Weather information is no longer in with headlines but on its own page, which requires navigation back to the home page in order to access it. Not worth keeping on my phone, switching to Denver 7 KMGH for easier access to the news I want to read.

App closes unexpectedly while reading. Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled on a recent factory reset device. It still occurs several times a week. App is slow loading, which is especially annoying after it shuts down in the middle of reading an article. The writing for web news in general is poorly edited with incorrect words or spelling, and 9News is no exception.

Since the last update, the app has been virtually unusable. If you can navigate to find what you want, when you click on a story, it continues to load ads of different sizes, bumping the paragraph you were reading off the screen. I don't mind ads (gotta pay the bills somehow) but I can't even finish a paragraph without having to scroll up and down to find the sentence I didn't get to finish. That's more work than I'm willing to put in to read a story.

Update- this app is not very good. It's not easy to find articles, scrolling is super slow and choppy and finding stuff is difficult. Today's biggest story was a potential lockdown coming for several counties. I had to scroll to find it!! Weather portion is good. I also like the buttons to connect and submit stories and pictures!

I struggled to even give this app 1 star.. Every time I'm scrolling down the news feed, it automatically takes me back to the top of the feed, because of ads loading. Wifi, or network service, don't matter. This is extremely frustrating. This seems to have started after the last app update. I have a new android, and there's no reason why this should be happening. So, until it's fixed the app is deleted. Want to see in your face ads? Then, this is the app! Ads app instead of actual news.

7/5 update is terrible. I have been trying to use this app for a month. It takes forever to completely load, the "welcome" screen is not needed and should be removed. I want a single feed of news to scroll through but only get 10ish stories on the front page. If you click a story it takes longer than it should to load. No live broadcast streaming. Ive given up on this app and have uninstalled it I will find my news elsewhere.

Unfortunatly, the new app doesn't work with the kindle or nook. I often wonder why if the writers do any beta testing anymoore. The old app worked fine. Perhaps in this case the old saying applies.. If it isn't broke ,don't fix it. Or you could given the consumer a choice, of upgrading. It reminds me of Miccrosoft., Releasing new buggy software then making patches for the softer. After it was released.

I can't get anything to ever load. And they post too many videos without any write up on the story. That's irritating because I can never get the videos to load from the app. It's 10x easier and more funtional just to search 9news through my internet than it is to use the 9news app. If all the stories had a short paragraph or two to read, I'd still use the app. Otherwise the videos make the app impossible.

Freezes and crashes constantly. The latest update has made the already buggy app completely unstable.

I previously loved the app however am very disappointed with the new version. Its not user friendly, cannot watch live feeds, and generally cannot find what I am looking for even when using the search tab. I love 9News but since the new version I have been using other apps for news and weather. I loved having a preview of the top stories and them being able to scroll down to the section I needed. Please go back to the old format.

Love the app & relevant, timely notifications esp related to official COVID briefings & wildfires (which may threaten me) & always serves as reminder to get & be ready to leave anytime & without notice.

When I open the app and choose a story of interest, an ad immediately appears. Fair enough, the description says, "Contains ads". So I hit the 'X', attempting to close the ad. The picture of the ad goes away, but the ad "white space"remains and cannot be gotten rid of. Delete this app.

The video quality is horrible and the top of the feed is dark. Looks like a shadow from the header. You have to watch an ad to hear audio. Then the ad plays you miss the news and I often get stuck watching another 4 to 5mins of live feed commercials before seeing the news. The only reason your not getting one star is because you offer this service.

Video runs smooth and I get local news on my terms, when and where I want it.

Way, way, WAY TOO MANY ADS! And not just simple banner ads. Oh no! These are the half page VIDEO ads that auto-play themselves. Or you will be trying to read something and an ad above, or below, will come into focus and take you away from what you were trying to read. I understand chasing a dollar, but you have gone WAY beyond that with your app. Folks don't waste your time downloading this app.

unskipple ads and when I tried to silence the app crashed. I'VE been using it for literally ONE MINUTE AFTER DOWNLOAD. you want people to use your app, then fix it. I'm deleting after posting this and changing channels.

I wish when i clicked on a story, it would go to that story. Too many times it had taken me to something else. Other than that, I totally appreciate the weather updates, keeping me in the loop on news and the quick highlights of the topics I chose.

The last two updates have only play this app worse. Every time I try to open it it crashes the first time. And then the ads... I understand small-time developers needing to sell ad space to to pay for their aps, but this is a major Network news organization! Nothing but greed here.

I like the app, but the watch live feature seems a little buggy or unstable. I have to click full screen to use landscape mode. seems to me that should be automatic. also if I screen off or go to another app for a second I have to reload the watch live to continue

No apparent sections (i.e., state news, sports, etc.) Cannot read the very tiny font size on the main page, and; cannot increase font size (except once in an article.) Previous version was a much better user experience.

Really dislike the new update. Very cumbersome. I want to read the news, not look at the city building when the app opens. It skips around, glitches. Just want to see news stories.

Typical TEGNA, this happens with ALL of their news apps. Example, you opt out of push alerts for every category except weather and you still receive the notifications that you opted out of. Uninstalled. Will only install when I need it.

It's about revenue not news. Near useless with all the ads and videos that load on their own. There will actually be a sentence of news sandwiched between ads. Hard to tell the two apart sometimes.
