A-Beam is an easy to use application but provide you the calculation for Reactions, Shears, Bending Moments and Deflections of the beams. From the very simple beam to the most complex of multi-span beams with any combination of loads applied.
The great part of A-Beam is you are not limited to the only predefined of the pattern of the beams with particular support and load condition, but in A-Beam you can create your own beam with any combination of span and load condition no matter how complex it is. And create a beam and input the support and load condition is easy due to the interaction of the user interface which will show you the beam diagram while editing the data.

Really, how can anyone rate this bad. Yes it can be improved, but every program out there can always be improved. It's just ungrateful to give this anything less than 5 stars. It's excellent. Compared to so much garbage out there, this app finally utilizes the power of these cpu hand held computer cell phones we have. My only hope is that it is never abandoned and is improved on often. Will analyze simple beams and beams with multiple supports. Gives a nice shear-moment diagram output. Changing units is cumbersome as you have to change each one. It would be nice if there was a single button to hit which would change everything to in-lbs or ft-lbs or N-m. Also, the visualization of the beam is pretty worthless as it is so small you can't read anything. It would be nice if you could zoom in on the picture to see things. Also, the units of the pdf output are inconsistent with the units used during entry. But this program has good potential.
Simple to use & easy to understanding. But will hang once using PDF view with beam more than 3 span. Kindly look into it. Thanks.

This app work great!
In ios there is a moment distribution table. On this version of a+beam in android doesn't have it.
I like the updates. New UI is nice and it runs smooth with Jelly Bean. A PDF print out feature would be nice. And also having the calculation button on the bottom of the page
Until you enable android users to be able to transfer a PDF of the calculation which by the way APPLE users are allowed, I will rate it 1 star. I will change my review after I see changes.

This app is great for checking your answers in structural analysis. The BMD and SFD diagrams look great and their are plenty of options, great developer support as well. Will answer any of your questions!
...bad in action. App keeps crashing on Samsung Galaxy phone when running calculations. And there's no option for roller supports.
The app keeps failing me when I make a change using a HTC one x Please fix it the app looks useful
