A Simple DBT Skills Diary Card

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills are a must, not just for people who have BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), but for just about anyone living in this world alongside others.
Are they necessary skills? No. Could anyone benefit from them? Yes.

DBT Skills Groups are booked out weeks and often times months in advance. This means that if you want to get in one, you may be waiting for a long long time, especially if NOW is when you need help.

DBT Skills Groups focus on SKILLS. This means that practicing the skills is much more important than anything else. And luckily, once you learn the skills, you will retain them for the rest of your life!

If you are practicing DBT Skills, even even CBT Skills (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and want a Diary Card, this app is great for you since it has the following:

- A Diary Log for each day with 28 skills.
- A Description of Each Skill if you Forget
- Examples of Each Skill
- A record keeping system that tracks your highest number of days you have ever logged in a row as well as your current streak.
- Statistical information based on 1 day, 7 days, 28 days, or ALL records. That way if you are in a weekly DBT class, you can easily see which skills you have been focusing on, and which you have been missing.
- A daily log with which skills you did and which you didn't which includes note taking for that day.
- A quick note section so you can write your homework down while in DBT without needing scratch paper.
- A Notification reminder that you can set to remind you daily at a specific time to do your DBT Skills Diary Card.
- Ability to share this app through Facebook, Twitter, E-Mail, or Text Message.
- Beautiful photos and artwork along with a backdrop that changes based on what season we are in (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring).

This is the most enjoyable DBT Skills Diary Card on Google Play! Download it today!

The app definitely could be improved through a redesign. Having a check box and all the skills on the same page would be better than going through each skill individually. I'm also not sure how helpful it is to receive the percentage at the end. Some people may not have had an opportunity or occassion to use a skill and judge themselves for receiving less than 100%

Unfortunately the chaotic and disruptive design just makes this unusable for me. Having to wait several seconds for every selection because of the completely unnecessary bubble mechanic is extremely frustrating. The music changing with every question is also quite jarring. I didn't even get through a single diary card before i determined i couldn't use this.

This is simple and straight forward. It would be better if you could actually write a little journal entry with it. The floating bubble goes away after you use it for a few days and unlock other cards. The graph is useful and if they set it up so you can email your daily cards to your therapist it would be great!

There's an animated bubble that has to float up to the top of the screen and pop before the next question is asked. Super obnoxious. My guess is it's there to be mindful as we're entering records into the app, but instead it's an obstacle to making quick entries

OMG, I LOVE THIS! I just started a DBT skills group and I have had difficulty with the diary cards page each week. My therapist suggested I check for an APP as he had heard that there were APPS. THIS IS HUGE FOR ME. I really needed something that can come with me. I purchased before I even finished the first diary card entry I was so excited.

Aesthetic (font, design, backgrounds) : 1/5 Customization options : 0/5 »»» B U T ! Increased my frequency of using DBT skills : 5/5 This app is noooot good looking, to the point where normally I would discard it based on that alone. But I decided to try and ignore that, and now using it (specifically the simple diary card) has increased my awareness and daily practice of skills 10-fold compared to when I was trying to use a paper diary card.

Can't even get past the message about how to create a diary card - it won't let me swipe it, as it instructs, nor are there any other buttons to tap to progress past that point.

Not simple atal - unless one already knows the meanings of those pro phrases. I.e. Not for beginners. Complex navigation system! Are you trying to sift the determined-to-improve from the unconvinced-about-dbt? This app did not inspire. I am sorry for this review but it is only one person's opinion. Ok?

Ran into problems setting up an account and messeged the developer. Got a response in record time, and had a pleasant email chain. Ended up buying the app.

Not a bad app. Not perfect but a good tool for DBT users with interesting insight.

Seems thorough. The official Linehan version is only available at the Apple store and I have Android. Another user recommended it to me.

I think it covers much of my daily experience to help me and my therapist. It's fairly easy to navigate. I'm thankful my daughter found it for me. I haven't tried any other dbt apps.

Although unpolished, this app helps me stay mindful of what I've experienced with my mind and what skills I've worked on throughout the day. It also helps my therapist easily see how I'm doing.

I actually like this app a lot, it's very specific in what it asks, and it lets you share your diary cards with your therapist, which is very important to me.

Holy frustrating bubble, Batman! Seriously, can't get past the bubble issue to otherwise do a proper review. Fix it.

App crashes every time I open it. Tried a reinstall. Been this way for weeks. Edit: uninstalled and reinstalled 23/03/-21. Same problem.

Slow and frustrating. I hate waiting for the little bubble to float up for every single still on every single diary card.

Difficult to use. NOT user friendly.

I could not get past the 28 questions. If i have to do this everyday, i would lose motivation.

Apps abandoned? Can't even reach developer invalid email.

What a lovely app for someone to create. I hope it gets more use and the community grows.
