The Vault 4th Step Inventory App allows you to enter your inventory information in a logical step by step way, then saves the information in an inventory spreadsheet that is laid out much like many of the 4th Step guides that you can find on the internet (like Joe and Charlie’s). The difference is that the Vault app lets you work on your 4th step anywhere, anytime that you are free and in a safe place, NOT just when you are free at your home with your notebook. It is Vault Code protected at all times, so whether it is on your nightstand or at the coffee shop, NO ONE can access your inventory but you.
We decided (through much discussion) to minimize all instructions on HOW to do a 4th Step. As alcoholics, we had no shortage of opinions on what each of us believed were the best instructions. We decided to use the original text from the Big Book for the actual questions for you to answer, instead of rewording them as we saw some of the 4th Step "guides" do.
Your sponsor may want you to write out (with pen and paper) your 4th step. If that is the case, you may still utilize the app to collect your inventory information, then after printing it out, copy it over by hand.

Although the our basic text suggests that this be written down, due to recent hand surgery I am unable to hold a pen for any long duration. After explaining to my sponsor the situation he was in full agreement that this is the next best option. With that being said, if your hand is alright to use pen and paper then you shouldn't download this app. Quit being lazy, put your phone down and do the work !!!!!
The process is good. The layout is great! The functionality is good, but a bit quirky. To edit, at least on my phone, you have to delete text back to the editing point. Overall....a very beneficial app.
Perfect. Allows me to work on my fourth step with the help of their definitions and how each part has an explanation for what you should think about and write. The best part is it locks everytime the app closes. Keeping me confident that others won't be able to read it.
This app is awesome. Step four is a very difficult step to do and this simplifies it. It organizes it and you can print it out from the app so you can read it to your sponsor. It has a security password required to get in so other people can dig up your dirt.I would suggest it for anybody in recovery who's doing the 12-step and personal inventory or anybody who just wants to see what their resentments and fears and conduct are with other people and do something about it. It is a very useful app.
I've only had this app a few days but my experience with it so far has been great. I can't believe how helpful it is. It guides you through everything. I've been sober over 2 years. While I've had no good reason to wait to do my inventory, I have, until I got this app. What took me 2 years to do, I've almost finished in 3 days. I recommend it to anyone who is trying to do a moral inventory.
right outta the book!! I think they could include a few more examples of principles like "commitment" transparency, self control (impulsiveness) but it's great!
Not done yet but it's pretty good. It's kinda confusing going back & fourth. Like how do you see the resentment, column 3 & 4 at the same time. I didn't see any ads .
Once i got the hang of it, it is easy to use. i would like to be able to export to excel or csv file though. it exports to pdf. i wish the reviews were anonymous.
Great app for 4th step only drawback is the character limit in sections. Trying to find an app that has four columns for 6th step defects section life with defect section life without defect section and finally my prayer section. Any suggestions?
Helped me immensely. I was overwhelmed trying to figure out until I got this app. Then I could copy it onto paper. Pen to paper LOL

Powerful,insightful,a sure way to inventory my thoughts ,feelings,actions,relationships,and an amazing tool of recovery ,self knowledge.......just follow the instructions...this is a very courageous undertaking .

It's a good tool except that it doesn't allow me to type very much in the where I was at fault section.

This app has everything you need and it's easy to use.
Keeps crashing and is super slow. Also will change names to weird words even though I'm spelling spelling correctly. Like very common names. I'm trying to unlock the next steps to resentments after listing the names and I've clicked the locks a million times. They are not unlocking and then it just crashes. Feel like I did so much work thus far for nothing cause now I have to do it again somewhere else
