Hints:To enable USB Streaming to GROM HW simply exit the AALinQ app and run your favorite music app. To enable GROM connect: Attach phone to GROM USB device and start any song in AALinQWhen connected to GROM via USB and Bluetooth, use route button next to time slider to switch between digital USB and Bluetooth A2DP streaming.
With GROM direct car interface the operation is simple for music tracks:1. Disk 1 is a On-The-Go playlist. Disk 2 is the first playlist, Disk 3 is second and so on2. Titles and cover art displayed in player in portrait in and landscape mode3. Full control from either AALinQ or GROM. Player stays in sync with stereo all the time
Troubleshooting when used with GROM interface:1. Make sure you have latest firmware installed from http://gromaudio.com/software-usb2.html or http://gromaudio.com/software-usb3.html2. On older phones (2.3.x) to operate you will need to turn USB Debugging option ON (Settings->Application->Development), follow suggestions from AALinQ3. I downloaded lot of app for my car Aux ,but after find this player I deleted all, it has very good visible fonts ,on screen slide options(which is very usefull while driving),

Among the best music-player-for-cars I saw (among the 50-100 I’ve search so far): * Large buttons and fonts readable in distance, Cover-Art is visible and yet not too intrusive, Cover-Art auto-search engine works great and an Excellent side display. * However: sliding to change songs does not always work. If shuffle and random buttons were reduced/removed to leave place to a forward and next button, and a volume slider as a wish, then it would be a 5-stars perfect.
This worked really well for the first few months but now it doesn't work at all. To the point where if I have my phone plugged in to charge, not even my radio will work let alone play music from my phone.
When it works, it works ok. However, app is unstable, often unresponsive and launches on own when not prompted.
I can't try yet playing with a guitar and in the T. V.
Used to work, now fails terribly.
Garbage like the hardware
Good player for cars
This was a great product when i got it over two years ago. Now every time the app gets updated, something else goes wrong. The music starts over every time i plug it in. When i get a notification, the music stops and i have to unplug and plug the USB for it to work again. Now the box throws my airbag and seat belt codes so it's not usable any more.
It could be the app, it could be the unit, but eitherway both are utterly unreliable. The app randomly stops or fails to launch. Regularly the unit fails to communicate with the app. Regularly i.e. everyday have to clear the app cache to get it to run - do you know this is an in car app. The grom unit usb3 is also horrendously unreliable, and neyond fussy when it comes to usb sticks tripped up by the smallest issue. Not sure if there was an update from Android, Samsung or GROM, but this app has recently stopped working for me. It does not start up automatically when connected to the GROM adapter and does not play music over the stereo. Have tried reinstalling it multiple times and turning on/off USB debugging with no luck. Up-to-date on firmware as well as AALinQ. Phone is stock Samsung S7 on Android 6.0.1. Contacted Grom support, but no response yet.
Installed update on Samsung Note 3 and now fails to even open. Even after full uninstall and re-install. This app has been getting progressively worse with every update to a point it is now useless. Really poor customer service to those that have invested in the Grom hardware - feel cheated. Edit: developer fixed problem quickly and now runs and works, so thank you for the fix. Let's now just keep it that way!
Complete garbage. To start with directions are very poorly written and offer nothing useful in terms of getting this set up once installed. The usb connection and app interface in my case can only locate 2 albums on my phone even though I have hundreds of songs on there. For some reason even when using the headphone jack which I have been relegated to, the unit shuts off the car radio whenever I turn the car off. Yesterday I needed to use the usb to charge the phone (Samsung Note 4) turned the car off and when I returned couldn't access any of the pre programmed inputs for the !!! Even the input channel for the headphone was unavailable! I don't understand how a company can put out such rubbish. I wish I'd read the reviews before purchasing this thrash ughhh.
When it does work its great, but everyday like now which is why im typing this so maybe youd fix it better and right now. It just diconnects, freezes, shutsdown, or crashes the whole phone. Sometime I cant even pic a song if its not in a playlist, fix it and you got 6 stars coming from everyone. Please fix this weekend your last update was in february its time for a new one now. I use this app on a note 5 and samsung tab3 same issues on both.
This is the most annoying garbage I have used, doesn't play music through USB most of the time, my music turn on randomly by it self lol, fix it or give up

I downloaded for 1 reason, to have a single-screen music dashboard for in the car. On Google I found some nice pretty screenshots of this app but inside it's ugly like an amateur student app and no skins or view options. The now playing screen has this stupid grey bar with 'Local' permanently covering. Couldn't find how to remove this.
Tried it, uninstalled it. __ GEE, WHY? The second screen I opened "someone unknown" called sj wants permission into my tablet. Who is this sj and why. I disallowed and the program froze. ==>Bunch of BS if you ask me. __ I gotta ask, WHY CAN WE NOT GET THINGS IN THIS WORLD TO WORK THE WAY "WE USERS" WANT?
unreliable, no niche value compared to Android Auto . can't stream via USB, the only reason for downloading this Apo. Bluetooth unreliable, but that is probably the GROM firmware, not the app
