At (seemingly) random periods in time, the app throws an "Error. An unexpected error has occurred, please try again later". This happens before even the login screen. I am facing it right now and I need to make an immediate payment but Absa has other plans. Besides this, the app has very few problems. It's really annoying though.
The onboarding is completely broken for new digital registrations, the last "coninue" button that allows the user to complete the registration is not clickable. The entire screen of the last onboarding stage is no responsive, it shows the instruction copy but not the user details and then the button doesn't work. I hope the designers and engineers read these reviews to improve the product.
The app on my phone doesn't have the tapping option for me to be able to change anything to do with card tapping. Or does it only apply to certain people whereas my card taps. Y'all need to be clear about such. I went to the branch they tried to assist but was unable to do the same. I'm not happy everytime i need to Change tap and go i have to go inside the bank and queue.
My experience is, I keep getting the "unexpected error has occurred, please try again later" when I try to log on. This has been happening the whole week. I even unistalled and installed the app again. It only worked for a few minutes after I installed it and same error occurred when I tried to log on again. Please fix this issue asI use this app alot for my transaction.
Really improving, there's good and This App works great. There is a minor problem though: the App is not able to do a "REPEAT" on the Lotto / Powerball feature, like it used to before. I did use it for Lotto / Powerball Mobile App, and the "Repeat" used to work perfectly well, but now it's not working, it just closes the App when you select "Repeat Ticket".
For me its a great App, never gives me problems , it's quick and efficient for product applications especially when you do you limit increase on your credit card l like it. Always do my application online and never experienced any challenges. Maybe they must consider having an option to give notice on notice accounts as they do on internet banking that will be lovely
App has stopped working. Every time I try to log in, it throws an error "Error. Unexpected error has occurred" before I can even put in my credentials. Very inconvenient and disappointing. I've had my acc with ABSA since I was a teenager and this is seriously making me consider changing banks.
Takes forever to get into the app and every option you choose takes long to load and takes your data. Can't link/load your other accounts to your profile, keeps giving error message or just don't open. Please sort your app as it's not data friendly and options on app don't work. Tells you to go to your nearest branch.... Why? What is the purpose of having an app???? VERY FRUSTRATING
Slow, and the option for downloading confirmation letter I guess is there by mistake because it's impossible to download the file because the app will load forever. Also I don't really like Passcode/pincode, they seem less secure than passwords, I wish you look at that too.
App is great, although a bit sluggish at times. One thing, I do not receive any push notifications from the app for transactions. Has been activated frok branch and checked toggle in app. Android 12 issue?
I recently started experiencing problems when trying to log in with biometrics, which used to work before - once I registered fingerprint login on my new device, I started getting "An unexpected error has occurred. Please try again later.". Now I am completely unable to log in to the app, it doesn't even let me use my password to login. I can't even use the in-app bug reporting mechanism. Pretty frustrating.
Getting unexpected error when trying to log in constantly. Really getting fed up with this. Notified ABSA as requested and all that hsppens is that they let you know that they escalated the ticket and therefor closing the case. Horrible service and support. If I could rate 0 or -1, I would.
TERRIBLE, it won't let me link my phone. It says it has sent a link to my registered email(same email address for the last 12 years) but no link comes through so I cannot register/link the app to my phone. I've tried more than 15 times and still no luck, very frustrating!!
I use these app on my secondary device but I would love to use it on my primary device but after going through the link device setup and inputting my account details the app keeps telling to "please use South African ID". Even though that's exactly what I do. It's incredibly frustrating to work with.
Using the app is so convenient, you don't have to go to the bank for minor transactions . There are ads that l don't really understand. Further l would like to hear more about AVF account otherwise the app is working very well for me
It used to have payment history in the pay multiple or single beneficiary but with the latest versions it seems to have this no more. In order to pay monthlies you would have to go chech your monthlies if you cannot remember. It is a waste of time and very irritating if you are in hurry
Hi. My banking app just disappeared from my device. We're trying all day to re-install but it keeps sending errors. They clearly don't know what they're doing and need to improve their services. Unpleasant freedom day because of Absa.
Im really disappointed in this app. Download app on my phone, restart a few time and delete and re-install the app again but STILL NOT WORKING. Every time it said: A anexpected error has accure. Try again later. Everytime it say like that WHY WHATS GOING ON??????
I installed this app to save time on going to a branch where there are always long queues. However, I cannot even register properly. The app tells me to go to a branch, after I had followed and completed every step. I have been struggling for days. This is not saving any time at all! Not even worth one star.
The App is perfect but it does not give me the option to delete beneficiaries whom I do not do business any more.!! Two of my beneficiaries changed their banking details but I could not do it on my ABSA App. Am I doing something wrong?? I just want to say that I have a brand new debit card (tap as well) but at the ATM I am told that my card is scratched and that I have to go to a ABSA branch to rectify the problem. So, I cannot draw money at the ATM.!!! Very frustrating I must say!!! 😭😭😭
App works very well. Only complaint - It used to show amount paid previously to a beneficiary, which helps when paying monthly accounts. It no longer shows. One has to go to the beneficiary details & get it there, then back to "Pay".
The app registers with ATM card number, new 5digit PIN creation and new 8-12digit Password creation. BUT when open the App it gives u 3 options, neither of which says log in/on???? So, I opt to link the device... this requires an Acc No. a PIN for a User 1. BUT it DOES NOT take the only Acc. No. &PIN that I know... I thought the face scaning was a neat add-on, but what's use of fancy, if after all that fuss I still can't bank online...!!!
New Absa customer. Could not link device. Could not register for online banking through the app. The app will load forever while trying to register for online banking, I mean literally forever until you close the app and restart it. Linking the device is useless, you scan your face and enter everything, only to be told that there was a technical error, every single time. Who are the developers who okayed this worthless piece of software? What an absolute embarrassment Absa.
I use this app almost exclusively to do my banking. It is easy and convenient. Verification notifications when paying for purchases via the internet can sometimes be challenging but that is the only improvement that I can suggest.
Generally happy wit the app. Just wit the last update I can't see the last payment I made to a recipient. Which is very frustrating. Previously I could see the amount and date of Previous payment made to a recipient
Useless,continuesly having unexpected error issues. Would be nice if I can just use the app for what it was intended. Phone is up to date,app is up to date,more than 100gb space,more than 8gb ram memory...what else do you need?
The app is not working that good any more. Keeps giving errors, as well as a transaction keeps "thinking" and not going through. But also struggling with the online banking, so nog good for absa...
It works as well as banking app should. The really annoying things about it is that if you choose to pay someone a second time you have to create a beneficiary. But there is no option to select the previous payment details and create a beneficiary. You have to enter all the details again in the create a beneficiary section which seems a bit impractical and poorly thought out. It negatively effects the user experience.
Not sure what the complaints are. My app has never stopped working. It doesn't bring up an error message. It is very easy to pay people and keep them on your beneficiary list. Checking transaction history and statements. If I have any queries I refer to the app and it is sorted. It is 100% user friendly. Very unsettling though that the app only works on certain devices. The app should be easy to use for everyone without glitches
