app stopped working. after reinstallation even can not log. i have full acm subscription. message no internet connectio the connection is fine for sure. it is shame that ACM is not able to develop so simple application. looks like the organization should be named association of computers unproffesionals and amotours.
Would be handy, but it fails to load all of the articles for a selected publication in the TOC.
we wood hv given more But wants to clean to make offers to install use less apps. so we are deleting all use less apps. then we will never install again.
App says no internet connection even when the browsers and other apps can connect.
I can't even log in anymore. This app is quickly becoming useless.
Completely unusable on modern Android builds.
No longer works at all. Sad and embarrassing.
Crashes on Pixel XL on pretty near any action. Ironically garbage given it's an app for the ACM.
Currently on Nougat 7.1.1/Pixel. Still crashing trying to open anything. Its almost like there is zero testing done for this. Maybe the ACM should open their APIs and allow a 3rd party to play.
Nice application for ACM researcher
Fails to be recompiled on a regular basis to keep compatible with the latest versions of Android. Has not implemented the permissions controls implemented in Android version 6 nor implemented the compatibility by targeting builds on the latest API version. This is very sad that the ACM can't follow the best practices, how about opening the app source and let us fix this faster!
Every time I try downloading some content, the DL app crashes for me. I keep getting "Error from server. Please try again later". Not good for an organization like the ACM.
I like the content except it always wants to scroll to the latest issue of each journal. Thanks for fixing the crashes
The app crashes when trying to read something in it. Needs a fix and some improvements in speed and performance.
Still an amazing app and helps keep me up to date on the computer science field while at work and commuting
Keeps asking for SD card.
App just crashes when trying to read articles. So, kind of useless now.
Update: Changing review to 5 stars because I did a hard-reset and problem went away. Might simply be a consequence of temporarily rolling back updates, but since I can't reproduce the problem anymore to provide info to the developers for diagnosis (or verification of a fix), I'm happy to change my review until the problem (if ever) reemerges. While using Google Pixel G, attempting to open any journal, etc. (e.g. Communications of ACM) crashes the app. I reinstalled the app, but that didn't help. There is a warning on startup that says "ACM Digital Library does not support the current Display size setting and may behave unexpectedly," but it doesn't provide steps for mitigation. I will happily update rating if/when fixed.
This app used to be solid as a rock, but recently it has started crashing when opening some articles. Sometimes when crashing it also corrupts the downloaded article list, making it inaccessible.
Deleting multiple articles from a binder has caused wrong articles to be deleted! If delete single article from a binder, exit binder and return to it, article often reappears (invalid cache?) Sync with main website, as seen in desktop browser, takes many minutes. When scrolling through long conference proceedings, only half the screen is used, other half contains useless info. No preview of author names. Moving articles to new binder only possible one-by-one. Android 4.1.2, Galaxy Note 2.
Oct 2015. Samsung Galaxy Tab S with Android 5.0.2. Loads ok but crashes each time I select a publication. Not impressed since I have a life membership in ACM. Feb 2016 still no change.
Unable to use this app, after I created a Web login through ACM website and login through this, it crashes immediately, device is Sony Xperia Ultra Z, Android 5.0.2
Access to all ACM publications in one app. Crashes resolved.
The App is great. It gives a nice mobile UI that is easy to navigate, find and download ACM publications (journals, magazines, newsletters, proceedings etc.). I have one request for ACM; it would be absolutely amazing if the articles could be downloaded in some easy to read format for the phone (something like an ebook) instead of PDF/HTML. The PDF format is hard to read on a phone.
Crashes every time I try to open an article. It didn't happen previously. I guess it because of the android upgrade.
OnePlus One, crashes every time I try to read something
In spite of my having a full ACM digital library subscription, every attempted pdf download says "Subscription Required" whereon I get a link which allows me to visit the article's page through my web browser. I can sometimes get it to recognize my subscription by repeatedly deleting the app's data, and then it will work for perhaps one session, after which it reverts to its errant behavior. Such clearing causes it to forget my magazine and journal subscriptions. All of this together renders this app useless. The dream of being able to keep up with my publications is shattered. All this app has succeeded in doing is adding more steps to my browser-based downloading of articles.
