Acorn TV—The Best In British Television Streaming

I love Acorn TV. They have some cool shows I haven't seen anywhere else. Could probably put a little work into IT, though. Make the app more user friendly. I wanted to get someone a gift subscription for years, but could never figure it out until they recently sent an email. Even then, it was not really easy to navigate. I canceled the Google Play sign up, and went through a different email because of IT issues. Fortunately, once you are in, there aren't really any issues.

I'm currently trying to watch Doc Martin.. but I'm having an issue. Whenever I pause it at the end of an episode, then come back and try to resume where I left off, it goes back several episodes that I've already watched, and I have to sort of fast forward to the episode I'm on... it's very frustrating! Can someone fix that, please? Other than that, it's great!

Having to use the app via Optus fetch box and sadly it's not great. The option to autoplay the next episode isn't working. It doesn't always show an episode as having been watched. Intermittently shows subtitles when that is turned off and in Spanish when the language is English. Would love the app available directly on my LG tv in the hope it would behave better. PS. Hoping there will be more hallmark mysteries soon.

5/2020: Love the app and access via device. Really appreciate if you would fix the erroneous wifi warning. 3/2021: Now none of the shows will play, only the trailers. Hope it is fixed soon. Reinstalled the app and still doesn't work. 12/2021 Still after a number of updates with new features and fixes, I am not able to play shows on my phone. Hope this gets fixed.

Love the content! But while watching on my phone the episodes will stop every so often with an error message for seemingly no reason. A bit annoying, but not enough to make me stop using the app as the content is so stellar :)

Paid my Subscription and Can't get in! It's telling me to renew and they charged me through Google Play Store this month. No one is answering my emails and the reply says to look at current help conversations. WTH!! I was watching on my laptop and now I can't. Extremely frustrated! 😡😡😡

This used to be a great app. Now it crashes and shuts down every 15 minutes. I plan on not renewing my subscription because of this. I have tried viewing on my ipad and laptop and still have this issue.

I haven't been able to use the app in months. It used to just fail to load. Now i get failure to stream error code 2013-200000-318. I cannot in good conscience give a higher review while it's broken. Please advise if there will be fix.

Can't log into account or to reset pword, emailed support to ask for a refund since I can't even log in anywhere, and they said they can't help me because I paid through Google Play. The subscription doesn't even show up in Google Play to cancel it or anything of the sort. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do since I'm out $80 for an annual sub to a service I can't even use. I have no idea how to cancel my subscription. When I try to change my password it says I don't even have an account...

Love Acorn TV!!! The app has some issues tho: having to re-request cc every single episode and almost every time I pause, does not accurately track what I've watched, lots of streaming error msgs. But still LOVE Acorn TV.

AcornTV is a nice service to enjoy the distinct quality and offer British TV had to offer. Video quality is good and the app works with no errors. I'd like a rating system and a recommendation algorithm, and more content as well. A refreshing alternative to the N reign of terror.

The content is great and the price quite reasonable. But the app has never worked on any of our phones. Web browser on a laptop or using a streaming device works great. The app is completely useless. Even downloading the show first won't allow it to play.

Shows and movies are great. However my complaint is the app crashes way too many times. It will not at all get past 5 minutes of a show without it crashing. Works fine on my roku and laptop. Phone app needs some major fixing.

Appreciating the latest couple of tech upgrades to Acorn. I live in a remote and mountainous area that challenges internet access, but Acorn's recent upgrades have improved streaming markedly. The ability to download programming when I DO have access, is a big PLUS. Now, back to watching some of the very best television

I have enjoyed Acorn TV for years. Quality programming, exciting and entertaining, showcased in their app and available on demand. Acorn TV has my enthusiastic appreciation and full confidence, try it and see if you'll watch as avidly as I have. It's been a year since I wrote the above and I watch as avidly as ever. The app has improved markedly, increasing the quality of the experience. Oh, well done Acorn TV. I'm a fan for life.

Seriously this is getting so annoying. I thought with the new update my issue would be fixed but i cant watch anything. When i hit play on a show it just gives me error message 2023-200000-318 unable to stream. It doesnt matter if i am on wifi or my data plan. I have tried it from other phones also so its not my phone either.

I like the app but what would be really nice if when I stop watching a show in the middle that I can pick back where I left off for example like when you watch Netflix it does that I can pick back up from where I left off. That why u get 4 start. I love UK shows.

This app is in dire need of an upgrade, it doesn't work with my Android 11 system because the app is cheap and nasty. Even on my Samsung which is Android 10 there's no way to increase the picture to full screen, even Tubi gives you that option and it's free.

Impossible to unsubscribe from Google Acorn tv. I accidentally purchased it twice. Once on the web and once on google play. I immediately informed both and tried to cancel one but neither would allow cancellation. So I paid twice. This year I cancelled directly through Acorn and was successful. The Google charge went through on my credit card but I can't access Acorn on my tablet. It keeps telling me to sign up for another subscription. No way. Not since google acorn already has my money.

App leaves much to be desired in functionality & updates BUT main issue is moving release dates of seasons which seem to be to keep folks subscribed. For example 4th season of Clarice Renoir advertised as being out today for many weeks but when I logged the date had suddenly moved to 4/11 EXCEPT the episodes were available and I watched 5 of them before the app updated and removed them so why are we still waiting? Except to ensure people stay subscribed for another month?

Phenomenal, I love the series that it has. Though I would like to see more of London Kills, especially Queens of Mystery, and Madame Blanc Mysteries. All in all, the best app and to think I was going to cancel, I'm glad I didn't!!! 😁😁😁 keep up the amazing job, AcornTV.

I like the contents but downloading single episode of a series takes about 30 to 35 minutes not very good at all ! I can download a movie off Netflix in about 1 minute!!

Trying to cancel. App tells me I signed "on the web" (um, where? It's kind of big). I go to Google Pay. Nope, not there. Yet my credit card is being charged. Same old, same old. Very few NEW programs offered and then the good ones disappear too soon and the old stalwarts stay forever. Once you've watched Foyle, George Gently etc., you're done. But if you like endless Agatha Christie and formulaic TV, this is for you.

This used to be terrific app. It would stream, flawlessly. New upgrade is ridiculously backwards. Now, nothing loads or streams. Have followed the suggestions to try and make it work, it does not. Now it appears to be charging everyone the monthly fee, yet no one can watch a single show.

This app is so bad. I will not subscribe to this service because it's an exercise in frustration and nothing else. The TV version is no better, logging me out and making it hard for me to log back in. It's a shame because there are shows I would love to watch.

This app does not work on Android 10. I really want to watch the shows that are only on Acorn tv. I sent an email to customer support on 3/17 and now my 7 day trial period has ended and still no resolution

I've had Acorn TV for years. It keeps getting better. 1 thing, when I cast to Chromecast, the autoplay function doesn't work. My only complaint.

The shows are great but the app is the worst . Closed caption English subtitles must be set for every episode watched. Every other app allows me to set my preferences globally. After watching episode 1 of a series, I come back the next day and it does not remember that I am ready to watch episode 2. Acorn doesn't remember who I am or what I want. I do persist because the shows that acorn streams are excellent. It's just easier to watch Netflix.

Ive wrote 2 emails stating that this app does NOT work on my Samsung Smart TV and you guys have given me 2 tickets BUT you're not fixing anything at all .. I can NOT watch anything 😒.. please at least get back to your customers when they have an issue that needs to be addressed, don't just send a ticket number for absolutely no reason .. I can watch on a tablet but who on earth wants to do that when you have a big TV

Disappointing. If I wanted to watch ONLY trailers this app would get 5 stars. I can't watch any episode of any show. Error code 2013-200000-318 is all I get. No content, only the error code.
