(For hdr-az1) Flimsy, w/ potential...? The wifi connection is iffy, and too slow for effective editing of bigger videos. Also there seems to be an enormous amount of compression artifacts as a result of doing anything with anything, weirdest of all being the time-lapse function which seems like (and judging by the lack of heat produced from the device, it IS) the least demanding [thing] the app can do, and yet it produces the most pixelated mess I've ever seen (from perfectly good images).
TERRIBLE. Link to camera. Import 3 quick test videos to my new pixel6 pro. Each video gives error: Export to 720p format unsupported. There's no option to change export settings. I navigate to the save directory and there's nothing there! FDR-x1000v camera
it's totally inconvenient app to edit video. seeking is absolute (not relative), presice seeking helpful only in the middle of fragment. And after a half an hour of cutting my clip the app has crashed and lost my work. That was my the first and last experience with that app.
Used to be functional but now no longer allows you to add music to your video, instead returning youn back to the main project screen. The 'give feedback' link routes to a screen that says, "Support for "Comments concerning Action Cam" has ended" and the 'Action Cam Official Site' link no longer displays the cameras so apparently Sony has abandoned this product and the related app. Sad.

I'm a user of Xiaomi mi pad 4 plus lte When I installed the Sony action cam app on Google play store, I found the notice " this App may not be optimised for your device " But After installed app, everything was ok, but last step to export movie. It pops up failed export ! Is there any way to fix this problem ? Thanks in advance,
My AZ1 action cam won't connect. Keeps giving me an error message to connect through wifi settings when it is already connect to phone wifi. Serious bummer because the app is only way to change camera settings.
it keep crashing, very disappointing app, i try to connect my HDR AS100VR, and it keep telling me this app stopped, well connected to the wifi of the cam, with the proper password, but as soon as i want to import it crashes, Sony ????
I wouldn't connect with my HDR-AS50. It would say I needed to connect to the camera wifi even though I was already connected to it, so I wasn't able to import my videos or photos.
It will not export an edited video to the SD card. Update 11/5/19: App constantly crashes and is unusable. Sony must no longer support it.
Before easier to use and can easily import picture to phone. Now some picture are not import to phone and always losing connection.
Fussy, fiddly, unclear, hard to use, does not connect well. Makes a good sports cam a pain to use. Sony needs to be doing far better than this.
I have encountered when creating time lapse using this app, the percent bar stuck at 29% at 1080p, same also when using 720p.
Can't use the timelapse function. I used timelapse mode on my Sony action cam, now I have 300 photos (transfered them to my phone) but the app won't take them to create a time lapse...
Sony is such a well known MNC company and yet cannot get its act together and give us action camera buyers/user a working app. I had my 4K action camera for 2 years and still its a let down. Not even worth a one star rating...ARE YOU KIDDING ME sony!!!
Sony is too busy making sure you can't use this for anything other than their cam so it's just a worthless slow POS. this app is why I'm going to throw this camera away and get a GoPro
This app used to work great for making timelapses with my sony hdr as50. Now its useless. It fails every time. I wish sony would fix it.
Terribly designed app, Takes ages to download from cam, no camera mirror and unintuitive connection. Don't expect software of this quality from a brand like Sony.
Horrible ! I cant add music, after clicking add music it wont open any selections only advertisements.
It doesn't seems to work. Will no transfer time lapse pictures, will no export material from AS50 to the phone.
Far more functionality with Sony image edge app. I think this is a bit redundant......
Don't waste your time. Latest update was 2016! You can't use this app to control your Action Cam, Play memories is gone - So can't control my expensive Sony Action Camera with a Sony native app. Goodbye Sony!
Doesn't work with my camera. I have found success with Imaging Edge Mobile though.
Shameful that this is a Sony product!! Might as well buy OEM for a 3rd of the price rather than from such a has-been company disgracing its history!!
horrible app. does not connect to the device and has not since day one.... Do yourself a favor and dont buy this camera!!!!!
useless application from Sony .cannot connect to x3000 action cam . no customer support an doesnot work at all with android version 9
timelapse max out at 30 seconds regardless of how many photos you use.
all videos after editing come up with playback error.. terrible editing app.
App is a complete disaster. Sony as usual fails to make properly functioning soft. It's useless and brocken
I like this app very much, as it's very intuitive to edit and has simple tools to make the movie look cool. however, when I try and export movie, it simply shows "Export failed" without any explanation or means to sort out the issue. I would really appreciate a solution to export my movie.
