Active911

No sound for alerts and Android is lacking the optional setting to override silence. Makes it easy to miss calls. Reinstall isn't solving issue for our team.

Best app in the world for volunteer fire! I just switched phones and REALLY struggled to figure out the ringtones--just like everyone else who left reviews here. The app has to have permission to access media files from the phone. If you deny permission, it only gives you manufacture defaults. And we all know those aren't enough to wake anyone up. I uninstalled, reinstalled, gave permission, and now I'm set with the Active911 ringtones again

Just updated, first call, when it tried to open it restarted my phone. I've tried to open 4 time's, it restarts my phone. Never had a problem with app before. Please fix this, I have moto V2 force.

Had the activealert system when I was with my old department. Was an amazing asset. The options that it gives for pre plans and notifications that are non emergent were great. Knowing were personal was and who was available to respond and the time it takes for them to arrive was great. Would like to get my new dept on board with activealert.

I've had to uninstall/download app 3 times since getting S21 because I'll get alert but no sound. Only reason I knew we had a call was through dispatched text that goes out with Activealert. Needs to be corrected!!

Overall this is a great app that helped bring my backwards employer into the 21st century only about 15 years too late. Unfortunately it has a major flaw in that the contrast of the road outlines/road names/background are such that it is very difficult for me to read the map, especially in the bouncy cab of the engine. To make matters worse the street names stay tiny no matter to what extent you zoom. I encounter this problem in all viewing modes but dark mode is the worst.

Obly giving this 3 stars because I'm thankful something like this simply exists. However, I have constant issues with the app (and widget). Recently the widget to change duty status hasn't been working (click it and it freezes on the 3 dots). The duty status within the app itself has also been acting up and not changing (especially when switching from off to on). Extremely great concept and it works way better on Apple than it does Android so will give higher rating when issues get fixed.

Always updating. Great customer service. Were able to fix an issue by sending us the code causing an issue that the city IT dept couldn't find. My only complaint is that the screen times out(goes to sleep)on a tablet while trying to use the map to navigate. Would be nice if it would open Google maps for navigation.

After a recent update the app no longer opens the full screen popup dialog even if I have that selected. Very irritating when I'm getting paged to have to fumble with the device to unlock it in order to pull down the notification drawer and click the notification to open the app and ultimately see the page. If a page is incoming it's vital to be able to see as much information quickly as possible.

I am getting extremely irritated by this service, I have never had an issue till recently in the last 2 months, I am sick and tired of not recieving alerts which I need for the 3 departments I run with. I dont get alerts at all unless I open up the app, I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times over which doesn't seem to work. I called the help # and receive little help. Now today we get a cardiac arrest call and I didn't even receive an alert. I have a Samsung S8 is that the problem 😡😡😡

Very useful app when it works properly. This had become our go to app for dispatches, preplans, hydrants and more. However the recent issues in the pop up notifications is making it difficult for our members to get notified efficiently. Currently looking for other apps that provide more reliability and quicker updates for fixes.

At first was great but after several Android updates the app opens with a strobe effect. I spent several weeks trying to resolve the issue with tech support but nothing helped. Know I don't receive alerts until several minutes after the call is received. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and that helps for a day or so then back to not working.

This is the second time the I have lost my ability to use my active 911 ring tones in the 911 app. They used to be under custom ring tones and now they don't show up. The last time I deleted and reinstalled but I have done that three times and I still can't get them. I have them under my regular ring tone sounds. I just can't see them in the active 911 app. Any help would be appreciated.

Not getting all calls to my device, no refresh option either.

Calls are slow to come thru and support is no help ringtones did not come over with the app and cannot get custom ones to work with the app

My team and I have used the app for years, and finally decided to upgrade our subscription to include more of our members. Recently the notification structure has changed which normally wouldn't be an issue, except our data does not process in the proper format (more like a comma separated form of StandardA) So the automatic voice announcement we have installed no longer works with the notifications.

Had the app for a while. Recently upgraded to a Samsung S21. Active 911 ring tones aren't available. Have to use the default ones from Samsung. The ring tones show up if I go into the files on the phone but don't show as an option when I go through the app.

Never had any issue with active. However, I switched to android and can't override silent mode.

Only giving it a 4 star for the sporadic glitches. App works great most of the time, however, recently I've had issues when trying to exit out of a previous call and go to the most recent one. the app constantly opens and closes, but keeps bringing me back to a different call and not the most recent. Other than that, happy with the last few years using this. I believe I'm on year 4 or 5 and recommend it to any new guys joining our station.

Decent at times. Calls seem to come in late with latest update. When a call comes in, it flickers the screen bad multiple times and sometimes glitches out. They really need to get this app figured out. Last but not least with the latest update, it changed ringtones and deleted a bunch of the ringtones.

Worked perfect on iphone, not so much on Note 20 Ultra. I made the switch and since my app doesn't notify me of new ems calls. It won't refresh until I open the app myself. Very unreliable so far on Android. Our radios do not work well in our county so active911 is very important. Hoping for a fix soon.

2 days ago this app worked wonderfully. Received alerts, had several different emergency tones to chose from, especially since I'm on 3 depts and need all 3 to be different. Yesterday afternoon, however, it all stopped working entirely. Stopped receiving alerts, which I troubleshot myself and corrected, but ALL, every single emergency alert tone have vanished. I see it's been an issue for Samsung users but my device is a Google Pixel. The app is the latest version. What is this remedy for this?

Great when it lets me in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app numerous times. Turned my Samsung N10 off and back on, pretty much any form of troubleshoot but I still can't get past the page to say I agree to the terms and conditions. And this is app is where my work sends things like overtime hours and other help needed even.

Great tool! But during an update, I lost all the ringtones that came with the app. They're lost in my phone somewhere and I'm unable to change the alert tones. UPDATE: found all the ringtones in my internal storage, now how do I get them all back where they're supposed to be in active 911?

Had app on my Samsung galaxy s9+ and it had a ton of different emergency sounds to use for notifications. Updated to a Samsung galaxy s20 5g today and got the app up and running and I see that I don't have any notification options that are emergency related. Only basic notification sounds. Would really like to see the emergency notification sounds added so I can set one of them as my notification tone.

I'm having same issues as Karen. Switched from iPhone to android. Kept same number. App loaded but not receiving alert notifications on lock screen with all settings turned on. Previous app on iPhone I received ringtones did not get any when loaded onto android. In response Admin already changed settings to Android. Still had same issue. Contacted by Active tech support and have corrected issue.
