Love it. Sure, this app has a minor glitch or two, but it's for 2nd edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, so I'm just thrilled it even exists.
On the face of it a good app, but used large amounts of data in the background. Couldn't work out why, something dodgy about it.
great app, but everytime i click on the magic missile spell it tells me that the app keeps stopping and needs to close.
Very useful app for 2e players and DMs. Developer is attentive with updates and receptive to user input for suggestions and improvements.
All the spells in one place. Simple and streamline. No fuss.
Very helpful as a DM to resolve spell casting.
Wonderful, for a grognard like me do you plan to add also spells from other sources than the PHB? is there an easy way to add spells?
I love it.
Amazing, and extreamly helpful.
love it
Same crashes on Magic Missile and Mel's Acid Arrow, but as for the rest of it, YESSSSSSS!!!! 2e is my go-to system, and this app will make things so much easier!
Thanks!
I got this app because I was traveling over the holidays and only brought my PHB and DMG with me. I wanted access to ALL spells (e.g. Chromatic Orb), without having to lug around all 3 volumes of my Priest's Spell Compendium and all 4 Wizard's Spell Compendium. I really like the format and ease-of-lookup, but this app doesn't provide a "Full" spell list. 3 stars because I find this app useful on occasion. I would love to give you 5 stars. Please add the entire list of 2e AD&D Wizard and Priest spells.
It's hard enough finding AD&D 2E (the best edition) apps, let alone good ones. AD&D Spellbook for 2nd Edition is a great app, it does exactly what it says, provides spells from the Player's Handbook for both Wizards and Clerics. The interface is easy and intuitive to navigate as well. However, there is room for improvement (thus the 4-stars) in the app and here are some suggestions for future versions: * Obviously more spells from other sources like: ToM, UE, Player's Option: Spells & Magic, and the Spell Compendiums would be awesome. * Psionic powers (I know they're not magic, but they're magic.) * Search, sort, and select features (alphabetical, by school, etc.) * Save custom lists (spellbooks for specific characters/npcs) * In-App contact option * Donate/paid version to remove ads For what it's worth, if the dev actually reads this review I have hard copies of most, if not all, of the resources I mentioned above and while I'm not much of a coder, I can do some data entry and I'm willing to help out with what I've suggested.
We love this app. My fiance is a DM and we both use this app on our phones. It makes life easier than digging through the handbook.
All you need is the PHB spells. I just wish it was more interactive with the spheres and schools. Where you could take out specific one for the specialty casters and it would elminate those spells
This is great I finely get the power of the dnd spell book at my finger tips. Its great for checking spells without bothering someone for their players hand book or fumbling through the seemingly endless pages to find a spell.great work and thank you.
Really lacking worst part is in my opinion if a spell has a component cost to a spell it's not listed or mentioned in any way.
You should consider adding more spells. Like druid, necromancer, red wizard. I like what youve done so far so tho.
Great app and simple to use. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I would love to see more spells added from other sources like Tome of Magic.
I cannot express how much I love this. Everytime I play a wizard or cleric I have to do a lot of little writing about details of the Spells .There's only one thing I would change. That it had the all the second edition and spells and cantrips!
Well, it has enough spells to be useful, but it lacks a lot of stuff. I wish it had some functionality to allow you to add spells on your own.
Not bad, could use more spells. Also, it seems Protection from Evil 10' radius crashes back to home screen on my Note 4. Other than that, great app for the 2nd Ed PHB spell listing and saves me from looking through my books for something that needs clarification.
There is a paucity of 2nd edition apps on the android market, so even just the existence of this is great. The fact that it is a great app makes it a must-have for any 2nd edition players with an android device.
The dude worked hard to put this together and isnt asking for your money. Good quick reference and thats what it is.
Thanks for creating the best resource book anyone could ask for who's playing the best version of Dungeons and Dragons. Second edition is was and will always be the best D&D version ever thanks.
There are some slight formatting issues in the text (very apparent with Prismatic Sphere, for example), but those have been improved noticably in the new update. I'd say the greatest shortcoming is the lack of an index or option to sort spells by school or sphere, but overall this is a very useful app. I can't begin to express how thankful I am that this resource exists for 2nd edition. So much easier than flipping through the handbook every time I need stats for a spell.
