Add-On - SMS Backup & Restore
- Allows the app to:
- Automatically upload to Google Drive.
- Automatically upload to Dropbox.
- Send automated emails after a backup.

This app does not appear in the list of apps in the phone launcher. It is used by the SMS Backup & Restore app and gets opened from the "Backup Settings" screen of that app.Google Drive:It may not work with all devices as the Google Play Services may not be available. Please get in touch with us if you have problems.
Dropbox Settings:This app only has access to its own folder and does not have access to other Dropbox folders.Check the "Use Browser for Authentication" if you want to use your default/external browser for authentication rather than the built-in functionality.
Email Settings:All the settings on the screen are dependent on the Mail Service Provider that you use. The details about the service can be found on the provider’s site. Some of the common ones are linked at the bottom of this section.• Sender Email Address: The email address from which the email should be sent.• Recipient Email Address: The email address of the recipient. If you are sending the email to yourself then this will be the same as the Sender Email Address.• SMTP Server: The HostName/IP Address of the email SMTP server. For example: smtp.gmail.com for Gmail.• Port: The port used by the SMTP server. Normally 25/465/587. For example: 465 for Gmail.• Security: The security used for connecting to the SMTP server. Use SSL/TLS for Gmail.• Require Login: Checked if the SMTP server needs you to authenticate before sending emails. Check this for
Gmail.• User Name: The user name required to authenticate with the SMTP server. For Gmail, its your email address.• Password: The password required to authenticate with the SMTP server. For Gmail, its your Gmail password. If you use 2-step authentication in Gmail, you'll need to generate an application specific password.• Subject: The subject for the email.• Body: The message content for the email.
This App needs access to the following:• Network communication: To connect to Email/Dropbox/Google servers.• Your accounts: Used for Google Drive account setup.• View Network Connections: So that the app does not try to upload when there is no network connectivity.• Test access to Protected Storage: To read the Backup file on the SD card.

Perfect app to backup and restore your text messages, convert to .pdf file email backups just Fantastic. I wish it can become capable to also backup images along with the text since there is time stamp and date stamp and great for legal issues if you have a history of things that occurred and you have proof.
The only problem I have with it is if I'm restoring texts from more than 1 file AND the "do not restore duplicate texts" is enabled ● some duplicate texts get restored and they're not in the correct chronological order. ★ so only use 1 restore file!
Great app, has an unfortunate issue with battery saving features in Android Marshmallow (won't wake up for scheduled backup). Hoping it can be fixed soon, but developer demonstrates in a reply to this comment an easy workaround. Fantastic developer :)
Used to work perfectly but since upgrading to Marshmallow this problem persists. I have followed the instructions offered by developer but issue not fixed. I constantly send the error log but no solution as yet. It does work in manual backup but takes an extremely long time.
I got a new phone so I backed up SMS, MMS, and call logs from my old phone and got this add-on to upload to Google Drive. When I tried to restore the logs to my new phone, restore was partial up to only mid-January. I tried twice without success so I emailed a help request. Edit: The mobile apps team emailed me back about my issue. I restored again from the same backup file but only from mid-January forward, and all of my messages appeared. Thank you for the follow-up!
Ths app gives you the ability to backup and restore to a new phone with great ease. The thought of losing treasured messages from now deceased family members was troubling, until this app was discovered. THANKYOU from the bottom of my heart ♡♡

Used to work great, but after I upgraded to Android 7 it cannot backup to Google Drive unless I have my phone unlocked when the backup job is going.
Failed to upload to both Dropbox and Google Drive in recent versions of Android, saying there is no internet access (even though the "test" feature says the test succeeds). But the suggestion posted by the developer fixes this, restoring the addon to being useful. Thanks!
Easy to set up and use. I upload to google drive then on the new device I download the file and the restore. Call logs and texts are seamlessly on the new device...
Can't print text messages even though there's an option. App freezes and says "failed to change settings"
When I go to open the saved /backed up files, theyre unrecognizable. The app Converts all text and phone call logs to another format which makes it totally useless.UNINSTALLED.
I tried a few apps to backup sms but all failed. only this app was able to complete the task. So, I love it.
After installation even if i want restore the data it is not opening actually. And it is not opening in Google drive even. Total My important messages are gone because of this app only. Defenetly i ll take serious action on this. Its very important for me.
I use it regularly and it always works just as I need it to. Also thanks for explaining exactly what the new WiFi permission is for.
I was using its previous and it was good really help to back me up my SMS. But some reason i have to restore my phone but again i have install it its icon not showing to my menu screen.

I've been using this app for several years now, baking up all messages then starting new. I also have it set to automatically back up to Google Drive, which I also think is an awesome feature. I highly recommend this light, intuitive, powerful app!
I have an Galaxy S5. I decided to factory reset it and use this app to back up my messages. It worked just fine before. But since I upgraded my S5 to marshmellow the app doesn't show nor will it open. It says it's installed but I can't find it or open it. I have made a backup for my sms from my old mobile but I havnt restored it yet on the other mobile because Im worried it my overwrite my existing sms... so I need help to figure this out... thnx.
