Here’s a sampling of events that would trigger an alert:
· Unplanned highway closure because of a crash.
· Severe weather, like a snowstorm, that will impact travel.
· Lengthy travel delays on holiday weekends.
· Report of a wrong-way vehicle.
You will not be spammed with irrelevant alerts and by turning on your mobile device’s Location Services you will receive only the alerts that are happening around you. We use geofencing to target the recipients of each alert. We can pinpoint and send alerts to mobile devices on a single stretch of highway or the entire state.
Customize your alert settings. You can choose what kind of notifications to receive. And you can set it up so different alerts have different sounds.
You do not have to sign up, register or provide any contact information. Alerts are sent based on the location of your mobile device. You remain 100% anonymous and your privacy is protected.
This app has no advertisements.

Today it woke us at 5AM with a loud sound, we thought it was our smoke detectors but it was this app. And even if I have my phone on silent, it still sounds loudly when there is a new alert. Very rude to presume that it's that important to force itself to be heard like that. And there is no adjusting the volume of the alert! The settings in the app says it was updated to remove "Quiet Hours" due to changes in Android's notifications. The result is that now the app sounds this loud alert at whatever hour of the day it is sent out. What SHOULD happen instead should be that the developers ought to update the app to allow me to specify what hours to be silent, rather than blame it on their inability to make it interact with Android better. If I cannot keep it from waking us up, I am going to have to uninstall it.
I liked this app, but with my Samsung phone I could not find a way to turn the volume on the alert down or change the sound to a different choice. I tried the options available in "Settings" (changing the tone and lowering the volume) but all I ever got was a full blast ping that couldn't be mute. I can't have the phone going off, especially that loudly, at the wrong time so I've uninstalled the app. Maybe I'll try it again someday to see if the settings are having any effect.
Update, February 2022: adot for android doesnt allow silent hours. During winter storms be prepared for loud notifications 24/7 and yes- even if your phone is set on silent hours. There's got to be a solution ADOT. Your app is needed by us in high country ! Loved this app for several years. Uninstalled now :( 2021: Past few months it's simply not alerting. Have reset settings, uninstalled, reinstalled, updated settings again. Nada... 😞 We live in a highly traveled tourist area. This was a boon during tourist season.
It's a good app until it snows then the alerts are non-stop, keeps repeating same alerts. Ok, we get it. Also, can't turn off the sound, tried to mute phone & this app turns the sound back on at loudest volume. Had to turn off phone because it kept sending alerts in the middle of the night. Deleted app.
Great if I'm hard of hearing. As other Android user have said, I can't quiet this thing for anything. No volume control, silent mode doesn't work. It's very useful but too loud and obnoxious to keep using. Please fix silent mode. I don't need to be woken up to know a road is closed. And DND mode from the phone doesn't help.
Worked okay for a while. Just deleted it because it no longer works with Android's do not disturb and it kept sounding alerts at all hours. Worse, the app consistently reset my notification volume to maximum every time it went off. Sounds like the app is not maintained.
I set nitifications within app to silent, but still plays the very loud alert sound. Finally uninstalled app because I couldn't lower the volume. Tired if the loud sound at all hours of the night. No longer offers quiet hours option.
App started going haywire...all alerts are on full volume despite my sound settings. Every alert seemed to change my volume settings from vibrate to sound. Unable to adjust so had to uninstall the app
No longer alerts. I have them set up and have received them in the past. I tried the test alert. Never received anything. FAQs provide no help amd are limited to OS supported.
Would be great if you could limit alerts to general area you're in. Arizona is fairly large. You can get alerts from hundreds of miles away that are more a nuisance than helpful.
Although I appreciate the prompt notifications of things going on, having the siren type beep go off on my phone at 2:00 a.m. is not good. Why in the world would you remove the quiet time portion? Almost impossible to get the thing to shut off!
The app is not working on my Samsung Galaxy s20. Friends with Apples phone have getting alerts, I am not . I have deleted and re installed the app, I still have not received any alerts.
I have it set for home and work yet I get no alerts. I see from the Twitter feed that there's a lot of things going on yet when I open the app I have nothing but four day old alerts. total fail.
Torn about this app. WAS excited. I live in Phoenix, near Thunderbird and 19ave, East of the I-17, morning news traffic was not corilating with this app, also while driving past incidents this app was silent. Very mixed reviews. Gonna give it another week, if not updated than "UNinstall"-ing.
one idea to make it better would be to have a way to delete a bunch of alerts at once. I know its not often where a bunch of alerts pop up, but when it's snowing like it is, there are a bunch of alerts to delete at once.
Alerts go through as media volume, which means they bypass DND settings and will wake you up in the middle of the night. Uninstalling.
Horrible update. Piercing sound for alerts that you cant mute or turn down. No more quiet hours. Good job on the update. Completely uninstalled from my phone.
Not very helpful, no alert notifications half the time. Needs to be more accurate.
The volume of the alerts is unreasonably excessively loud and unnecessary. Please provide setting to adjust
Cant disable alerts. App chimes at me too often. It does provide some useful info but not worth the hassle. Ill just check the 511 website.
It's a good app, but it would be much better if it told us about the scheduled closures as well, or at the very least have one-click access to the website.
Was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, moved MAYBE 1/4 mile in over an hour and this app said no traffic problems in your area.
Was working great, now no alerts. Our Android quit getting updates that the iPhone gets.
Handy app to have especially with all the recent weather events today. with a newer version, seems "quiet time hours" is now disabled and cannot be configured, but the option is still there. We humans do sleep about 1/3 of our lives and don't need to be hearing constant alerts (especially during crazy weather events), so would be nice to have that option to silence the alerts between a certain time when we're safe at home and don't have to go anywhere. Ended up having to remove a volume profile exception for the do not disturb built into andorid to silence the alerts. Please fix.
