got the trial version and had a bit of trouble getting it going. The app it self installed as it should but because I was using an antenna that was too long I didn't recieve any thing. I switched to a short telescopic antenna and left it retracted. @ 5 inches total length and turned it horizontal. I seem to be limited to a 50 to 70 mile radius but I'm at the bottom of a good size valley. The developer replied to my comments in under an hr.
App with listed dongle worked very well with Samsung A10 Tablet (2019) and Avare app. Tested in the air against $10,000 certified panel mounted unit and the app shows every aircraft the certified one did. It will be nice to have the "in" data for antique planes that are not required to have an in/out unit.
Tried using it on a device running android 10 Go. App won’t let me start without the “display over other apps” function enabled. 10 Go does not have the “display over other apps” feature, google removed it from 10 Go, or at least disabled it at the root level. Are there any workarounds to bypass the display over other apps requirement that do not require root permissions?
It turns out that the coax had a break in the cord leading to intermittent operations. It now stays on all the time for ground operations and will report back after first flight..Im sure it will be satisfactory.Jo
Love this app works very well. Just wish there was an app and dongle to do ADSB out, too. I think Australia and UK are the only 2 countries that this could be done.
The developer (Mike) went above and beyond to help me to get this app to work on my phone. Thank you very much. Love it
Works great! Wish it could also receive dump1090/dump978 data and send to avare
i didnt see that I need additional hard wear. I hope I could get a refund. Thank you for the quick anwser . I changed my review :)
Updated review: Great app and responsive Developer! Working perfectly now.
I love it
It works!
Good app, wish it would show what aircraft they are(B789 etc). I have to keep going to flightradar and typing in the callsign
This has stopped working. It says unsupported dongle which used to work fine. Also, when I select any button like Help it just returns back to the main screen.
This app works great with the NooElec Mini 2 SDR receiver, I'm very impressed!
Works like a champ. Great to see the airliners swooping overhead in Avare 3D while driving toward the airport. Building it into my EFB kit.
Great app. Very easy to use. Would be nice to be able to click on the target in avare and have the speed, alt and other information displayed
Thanks devs!
The gripes I have with this app that drives me to uninstall it: 1. It constantly checks the USB on the phone for the dongle which prevents other SDR apps from connecting to the hardware. This, for some reason, also slows down my phone and reduces battery life. 2. There is no offline map. Even if it's just a simple outline of all the continents and major bodies water, it would be excellent because one cannot expect to have an internet connection at +15,000 feet. Other than that, it's a decent app.
No difference between the free and paid app. Waste of money.
Will be more good if it shows the details of each planes on the map without selecting individual
I can't get it to work it just keeps verifying information and avare is connected and the map never comes up I got it working ok now I had the do not keep activities option checked in the developer options
Subscription free Nexrad radar and traffic on my android device for around $20! Life changing! And fantastic customer service as well.
1090 & 978 mhz and weather for $2.49?! Are you kidding me? And it integrates perfectly with Avare (free). Awesome apps, can't say enough good stuff about them. If you fly GA and have an Android tablet and $20 for an SDR, you can't go wrong! Thanks guys!
Pro version generally works great but a big annoyance; if no packets, app stops listening after 10 cycles of 19 seconds - or 190 seconds. There is an option to restart the app after every 30 seconds of non-reception but the restart cycle starts after only 19 seconds and reception is not active again until 11 more seconds. That means one third of the time the app is not listening for packets so also not usable. Please add an option to let it run for hours even if no packets!
