AdShield - Ad blocker, No more ads & tracking

Update -- Still working great. About 18 months later and over 100,000 ads blocked! A great app. --- This works like a charm with my newspaper subscription, which was becoming unusable due to the intrusive advertising. I am using Google Chrome, and have not had to change browsers. In a few days it has blocked 230 ads, and has let through only a handful. It. Is the only one of several blockers I tried which works well. Thank. you!.

This is a really excellent ad blocker and is very effective in making your webpages look clean. However, from my experience, there are still certain types of pop ups that this app doesn't seem to detect, mainly the ones that would just randomly appear on the screen and would have a small "close" button. Apart from this though, everything is pretty good and I would say this app is worth the money spent.

Works as described. Really good for blocking flashing ads that distract from reading web pages. There are still some ads, but they're not intrusive nor stuck randomly in the middle of the page. I read a lot of Chinese language books and they have prolific ads that are very distracting. AdShield works as described and has improved from my initial use from less than one year ago. Doesn't take up a lot of RAM and works silently in the background as any good software should do.

Works about 90% of the time. When working proper, very few sites will have ads. You got to follow the directions to make it work for Chrome. Also, it appears if Chrome needs an update, it disables Ad Block. The customer service was quick with a response, even on a Sunday. Would recommend* *please note this blocks pop up ads, video ads that appear at the bottom of the screen, and ads found on pages. It will not block ads from Youtube (the ones embedded in videos). Same with Facebook.

It promises system-level as remodal but, if you dig just a little deeper, it doesn't really remove ads from anything other than Chrome. I wanted it to get rid of Facebook ads, which is part of the system but, obviously, it doesn't do that. Also, the dns setup is extremely confusing and, sorry to say but, this app offers no benefits over using, say, Firefox with an ad blocker added-on, as a matter of fact, it's only functions seems to be slowing down the internet and marketing Yandex browser.

For me this is a brilliant app. I occasionally disable it for a minute to allow a link ( from Google search) to open that I want, but otherwise its on permanently. No annoying ads and promotions, no spam emails. Free and effective. It's made browsing on my phone so much better. Reading newspapers online is pleasurable now that there aren't ads everywhere. People have said it'spaid app..it is free for me! Works with Chrome if u follow instructions . Recommend highly.

This app hasn't been updated in a few months which isn't a good sign. Ad- blockers need constant updates in order to keep up with the current tricks ads use and to update their respective blacklists. Without the updates, it won't be able to adapt to the work-arounds some ads use. Before long, this app will be obsolete and will only work against the most basic of ads, which by default, are already being blocked by your current browser. This app was probably not intended to use forever. 🤷🏽‍♂

First of all, it is a paid app. But still many ads in different websites like YouTube and softwares like mx player. I used adguard for free which was very successful. I thought, ad shield would be the best of all as it is a completely paid app. But Alas!!, I'm so unfortunate. It fails It's mission. Adguard still powerful and much better option than adshield. Adshield is an useless purchase for sure.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and I use the Google Chrome app. I followed the instructions exactly, and so far, it's been great! I play Neopets, Marapets, and Subeta, and it has blocked the ads and made the pages load SO MUCH more quickly now that they don't take up time loading useless ads! Even when I tried playing games on Marapets, it still blocked the ad that comes up every time you start. I haven't run into any issues, yet, but I only just started.

I mean yeah, FINALLY an adblocker for Chrome, but might as well not have it. Hardly works and it makes Chrome freeze. Rarely do the pages load. And I still get ads coming through. I figured since I actually paid money for this app it would actually be better quality than the free apps but no. Not at all. Also it can't block YouTube adds so if that's what you want this app isn't for you.

Had to uninstall it due to too many problems it created. Pages on sites I use regularly, such as Amazon, couldn't load due to VPN issues; I continued getting many ads; I was continually disconnected from the Internet; etc. I was happy to find an ad-blocker that would work with Chrome on Android...but this was a big disappointment.

Hello. This is a paid app, you could at least make it work for ALL Browsers! I hate using anything other than Chrome!!! I use Chrome on my PC as well, and EVERYTHING is on that Browser and Google Account. And its Sync option is great!! And having to use Yandex or other Browsers for just one small thing, is a slap on our faces and knife in the back! Make it filter/block ALL Ads, including the most important, Video Ads. And also, make it block Pop-Ups and Pop-Unders. DO THAT, and we'll pay double!

I paid for this app. But I still see ads on 50% of the time. Sometimes even blocked by non ads pop up web site. Again, half the time I have to turn this app off and that defeat the purpose of this app. This app needs lots of updates. I just learned that some of my news apps don't work when adshield is on. :-(

After support helped me find an incorrect setting, all problems went away.. This is a good app, go ahead and buy it as it works great. I see no slowdowns. Old review --> blocks wifi on ChromeBook, Making it useless. Anyone have any ideals? The app seems to work ok on my Pixel and Samsung s8+

Went through the installation efforts for Chrome on a Samsung S20 Ultra and it did not work. I even ran the "Check if the app is working" and it opened in chrome, said it's working, then immediately an ad popped up. At this point, it's just easier to use an ad block browser since these "DNS Proxy Servers" are useless.

Seems to be working exactly as described on Chrome for the websites I was having problems with. Not seeing the annoying in-line ads that were driving me crazy anymore. Thank you so much! Worth every penny!

For years I have had a rooted phone with the wonderful Adaway. I can not yet root my current phone so I bought AdShield. Did a literal side by side comparison with Adaway and couldn't tell the difference, both displayed 0 ads. I'm impressed. Worth all 99 pennies people, then some

This app doesn't block anything anymore. The ads pumps out from left and right while the Adshield watches and even goes under hiding to avoid been stopped by the ads. It stays as a nuisance now on my phone. Perhaps it is not updated to work with android 11,

This app so far doesn't seem to work with blocking anything on any of me devices, it does not work with Chrome or my default browser. Kinda cheeky that there's an option to download a browser in the settings. I will be requesting a refund.

It does block many of the stupid ads thatbare driving me crazy and gives me a reprieve...but it doesnt block all... I hope it can be extended to block all ads even those within an app. That would be awesome.

Works great for me, blocks ads on every app and the start on system toggle is nice, can't really think of anything I would change, not intrusive, especially compared to other ad blocking apps. Great app for the price

Doesn't work. Followed all instructions and allowed it to create a VPN for DNS queries but it simply brings all internet traffic to a complete standstill. Even the test function inside of the app doesn't do anything.

Only works as a VPN. I use a VPN, would rather use my vpn than this ad blocker. My vpn protects my privacy better. Edit: Tried out the extension, it only works with the Yandex browser that lacks security features of firefox and brave, but… the extension works as advertised but useless to me since it only works in yandex. Waiting for Chrome. ☺️

Use with chrome no more ads. Peace wen browsing. It had got so bad I couldn't read news etc without 3-4 ads blocking page. No more, ad shield blocks them all. Easy to set up and update. Works only with chrome and a browser u can download, I preferred chrome. Cost £1.69 worth every penny

When it works it's fine but I find that I have to disable and re-enable the app 2-3 times a day as it will often just block ALL traffic requests getting through in Chrome and I can't load anything at all until I restart it.

I'm reviewing this app once again because my first review got deleted. I purchased this app because it was the first "chrome adblocker" and it doesn't even work.. I tried all the steps listed to do in order for the app to work and ads still come through. Oh well at least I lost 99 cents and not 10 dollars. 😢

The app is great when it is actually working but, The app keeps shutting off, I reinstall it few times but it is still shutting off. I emailed you on March 9, 2021 I'm using a Samsung s9 plus.
