I just simply don't understand. Seems like every time they update this app, it becomes less and less functional. At least 4x a week. I have to reboot and unplug my cameras because it's either not connecting, has a connection error or just simply not loading. It takes forever to arm and disarm I from the app. It was nothing like this at first. The systems are down more than they work, which is terrible and defeats the purpose it's supposed to be serving.
I'm sorry, but can I give negative stars to this app? What is the one thing that you need the app to do? Connect to the alarm system. What does this app do? It displays a lovely grey box and says "Connecting" for 2-5 minutes before it actually connects. Enabling voice command is better. Bypass the stupid app. 2022 - Now the app logs you out randomly. Cameras are still slow. Connecting to panel is still slow. I thought Cox was bad. ADT is worse.
This app has gone completely downhill. No longer connects to system so I can arm/disarm straight from the app, which was extremely convenient. With all the complaints, which are quite similar, you'd think ADT would have solved this issue. This is now such a waste of time & memory usage on our phones.
This app is so frustrating now. One of the key features of us getting ADT was the fact you could arm/disarm it easily from the app. That simply isn't the case anymore. It will just keep "connecting" and sometimes if I'm lucky, it will let me hit disarm but oh wait, just kidding! because as soon as I hit the disarm button it goes from " disarming" to "connecting" within 30 seconds. What's the point of having the option to arm/disarm from an app when the app doesn't even work 90% of the time.
The servers are slow, and to bring up and get to my camera takes well over a minute. The crazy part to me, since I'm a developer and have some understanding on how this stuff works, is that to launch the app and get into the system shouldn't take more than 200ms at most unless they've incorrectly cashed resources, which is a pretty novice thing to do.
The app has a nice layout but is extremely laggy. Most of the time, especially with cameras, by the time the app opens and connects the person at the door has given up and left. Similar issues happen with arm and disarm which causes the system to be very frustrating. If lag doesn't bother you, or consistent connection issues, the app is great.
Connecting issues like others have been saying, taking a long time if it connects at all. This used to not be the case and there seems to be no recent updates either. While arming and disarming tried to connect the camera will sometimes work and sometimes not. I did finally get the ability to arm and disarm but it took over 15 minutes before it connected, did not attempt to arm/disarm. However that was short lived once I logged out and then back in again. Please update app.
Good app but was great. Recent update (Dec 21) made some changes and took away user options. For example, the app now automatically logs off the system after a predetermined time. Determined by the developers, not the user. Great security function but this value should be determined by the user, not a default set by the developer.
I find the app very slow and cumbersome to navigate. The video doorbell feature is useless if you want to talk to someone at your door. Why? Because by the time you get the notification that someone rang the doorbell, open the app, wait for it to connect to the camera, press the talk button, the person has long since walked away. This is not what I expected when I had ADT install the cameras. If you already have the app up and running at the time of the even, it works satisfactorily.
This app needs work. For example, the garage door opener function in this app is unreliable. Most of the time it doesn't work or indicate garage door position at all. In addition I have an Android and an iPad and neither display the garage door properly. One will say the door is open the other indicates the door is closed. I talked with ADT service several times and they are useless concerning this issue.
After being laggy for so long it now just won't work. The app says that there is an operating system on my devicethat makes it so the the app won't run on the phone. But my system is 100% up to date. And my roommate's phone is getting the same error - but he has a different phone, different operating system, different security so it seems to be more of an ADP Pulse issue than a my phone issue.
Service is horrible. I put a review up previously and it was erased. The app doesn't work- it says my alarm is on when it's not so if I try to arm it it just disarms the system regardless of if it's on or not. The connections to the cams sometimes don't work for hours at a time. I went and upgraded up the most expensive costly WiFi system and nothing changed. Would rate a zero but can't. Will be getting a new service soon because whomever runs the profile here deleted my previous comments
I just now started experiencing what others here are experiencing. Camera loading times are ridiculously long. Sometimes I just give up and close the app. I have a 1 gig internet, so it's not my internet, it's ADT. My connections to my cameras keep disconnecting more than usual now. One suggestion is a PANIC button in the app. I don't know why we don't have one yet.
Can't access to pick my door or set alarm. The one time I needed the alarm to do what it was meant to do it didn't. Paying to stay on this plan. My time is almost up after fearing hoodwinked the first time I renewed. Been with ADT for almost 8 years and the upgrades are JUST AS BAD as the Equipment and APPs you upgraded from. Shame on you.
Always having issues with app. It's either not connecting, or it had an issue. Need to run smoother, and more dependant. Still always having issues connecting. This app is not reliable so make sure not to rely on it. UPDATE This app still stinks after years later. I pay for this device and it's a joke! Always having issues. Always having errors. Always having to call customer service to reset everything. So inconvenient, not reliable. 3 years later still having ussurs with app. Always an issue!
After almost 3 years of use, this app is still broken. It works maybe half the time. It won't even load, and when it does, it errors out when turning alarm off/on. Update: Can't even change the password. This app needs new programmers and a UI update.
Received Android 11 upgrade, now app is denying access. I contacted support and was told it's not their issue. Was told to contact my carrier even though it was their app which has the issue. Not impressed with the support. I'm going to leave ADT if this doesn't get fixed soon. I tried re-install and it didn't work.
This app is required for using ADT alarm online. It works well. 9/16/19 edit. Since last update app does not connect. Tried with 2 smart phones as nd a tablet. It just hangs. Update. Had same problem 3 more times in last few months. Different phones, tech has been here twice. Got to call again!
The app has not worked for us in several months. We have called ADT multiple times and still, the problem persists. We have deleted and downloaded multiple times. Not sure whats going on, but I'll also add that when it was working, it was awesome. UPDATE March 2022: The problem still exists. ADT has done nothing to rectify the issue. We've literally just lived with it. As sad as that sounds. How does such a large company not have the answer to fix an issue?
For weeks I have been unable to connect to my system via the app. I tried using WiFi, wireless data, trued leaving the app open add letting it connect after trying to fit several minutes. Don't know what changed in the last month or so...
Too many connection problems. Today I tried disarming the house, it was trying to disarm then it went to "connecting* for 20 seconds then afterwards it kept saying the previous action hasn't completed so I was never able to disarm the house. Been happening a lot lately.
I can set the method to access the app to fingerprint and it continues to change to password. Also, the app continues to get slower and slower. It takes 30 seconds or longer for the cameras to come up. It seems there are a number of complaints with the app. What is being done to address these issues?
Does not connect to the panel. Can't arm, disarm, or even see the correct status of the system. Camera constantly goes black and won't reconnect. Multiple calls to ADT do NOT fix the issue.
It was working, but now it is stuck in an endless loop. System from PC shows that I logged in but I'm stuck in this loop this is now completely useless and my wife has to do all the arming and disarming. Update, I have been on the phone with ADT and they will do nothing on their app to help me get it working. I have been told it is my problem and to get in touch the manufacturer of my phone and have them fix the error on ADT's app not working on android 11. I can't stress enough don't use ADT.
It rarely works. Doesn't connect, or when it does it takes 3 mins to change camera views. The motion sensor on cameras is iffy at best. Sometimes it registers, sometimes it doesn't. Remote lock/unlock of doors is the worst. Indicates it's locked when it isn't and vice versa. And only once in a great while does the app actually unlock the door when prompted to do so. There's no way this app is rated 4.7. Look at the feedback from the last 6 months with nothing being done. They don't care.
