Advance Professional VIN Scan

Open the app, it asks for a VIN. you can either scan the barcode or enter manually. From the start, it displays an error that it cannot use the camera to scan the barcode and when I try to enter it manually, the phone recognizes the field as an area to type, but no characters ever show up. Since I can't just select a year, make, and model, this app is useless to me.

Couldn't Use App.... It's not set up to be very user friendly at all. There is no area to sign up, only a sign in area. I did find a place online to signup for an app but it didn't let me fill in all the areas then would ask me to fill in the areas missed that it wouldn't give you access to. Kind of redundant and a good bit frustrating.

**COMMERCIAL CLIENTS ONLY APP** I hope this helps others. This is an app dedicated to auto shops and other businesses. This is NOT for the general public. If you are the general public you'll want to find the Advance App with a Red Flag logo. This app has greatly helped streamline our business. PRO TIP - Use Google Lens (Android only, not available on all phones) to convert images to text. Copy VIN and paste in the app "Search for parts". The VIN scanner does not work and never has.

Downloaded it to look up parts and toys for my rig. I couldn't look anything up without signing in. I go online and create an account, then try to sign in on the app and ot doesn't work. After no luck, I read the full description (after reading other comments) and discovered at the very bottom it states: "To look up parts or upload scanned vehicles to your Advance Professional account, you must be an active professional customer." Very misleading and disappointing.

Vin# scanner doesn't work. Entering vin# by keyboard causes force close. So adding your vehicles is impossible. App might be good but its broken with out those features. Autozones vehicle option is much better. And if its raining at least you don't have go go outside to try and add when it doesn't even work

Awful, cannot login with app but I can on the PC, furthermore, in order to change password from app you have to call customer service... not happening, I think everyone but the developers know what it's like to have to call any customer service for anything (whether the service is good or not) just a f#$%&*g hassle. FIX this S@%T and maybe I will install it again & I just might buy something from you.

Worthless app - don't install it! This apparently has nothing to do with retail or online purchases because it is not linked to your "perks" account. This app s a complete waste of time. I have had much more favorable experience with the Autozone and other retail auto part store apps.

It's no wonder why I rarely buy from your store considering the poor example for an app you have. I can't create an account with app, I can't manually search for parts without scanning my VIN, I actually can't do anything with the app without having an account which I can't create without scanning a VIN. What if I just wanted to look up a part for a friend's car? NOPE! Can't do it cause I don't have the damn VIN. Get this POS off the play store until you can create a useable app.

Couldn't enter the vin number, couldn't enter the truck's make, model, or anything else, and couldn't call or even FIND a store without being logged on the system.... how the hell do you do that when your app won't take the information ?!?!? If I could have given it a zero star, I would have.... Don't waste your time, or money on this. It's not worth the effort.....

Shtinky poo poo! 1. I can not sign up through the app (had to do that with the PC). 2. I can not sign in through the app even though I have opened an account and made online purchases (done yesterday). As of right now this app is completely useless. Please fix this.

Can't sign in to my account even though I buy online through the website often. I even bought online and picked up in store yesterday so i know my user name and password are correct. Completely useless at this point. Uninstalling until it's fixed and just using the website instead.

Great if you know what it's for. It is not for the every day customer that walking into the store. This is an app for advance auto parts commercial partners. Works great.

Don't waste your time! This app is for professionals. I am a do-it-yourselfer and so far have not been able to get squat from this app. What happened to the app for the do-it-yourself for?! Am I missing something? Oh wait I did graduate from 6th grade so finding advance Auto app that I can use shouldn't be difficult. I found everybody else's...... Guess who will be getting my money?

Only one star because they won't let you put none oh, this used to be a great app I own a mechanic shop and me and all my guys used to this app everyday until about a month ago when it quit letting me log in... it won't let me log in and on the very rare occasion that it does let me log in it logs me back out after loading only one vehicle come on Advance Auto I.T. guy can we fix this thing

after attempting to order spark plugs for my 2000 grand prix i was informed this app would not work for me because im not a professional. 2 days later and after reordering im notified that both orders are in transit. Live chat and a phone call found nothing about 1st order and advised reorder. The rest has been horrific, i am not able to get the plugs i want without further difficulty but i did receive a sensor socket and tune up grease from second order... UPS shares partial faults!

The app is for auto repair shops and facilities that have a commercial account for parts. If you don't have an account with them, thats the first step before you try using the app. What made you think you can just see an app in the app store and start using it...lol

This is an app only for buisness with commercial accounts If you don't have a commercial account with advance auto find there retail app but on the commercial side it is a valuable tool just glitches occasionally and you have to reinstall app.

Cannot log in to the app. Just logged in on my browser, so it's not a forgot password issue. App is useless if it doesn't allow login.

Edit: camera scan works: Add license plate for 5 stars. Note: this app is for commercial users, not the public. You need a professional account. You will not be able to use this app with your basic store account.

this app will help auto zone and O'Reilly's make more money...hate to have to keep pulling advance auto up all the time. when I have auto zone app right now phone....this app does not let you create or pull up you account from the online .. hate will not use but will all who ask about this app.....!!

worst app i have ever downloaded,keeps asking for user name and password,i have never installed this app before,says i have to call customer service to fix a problem with app,complete waste of my time.

Asked for a username and password even though I did not have an account. Would not let me register. After 20 minutes of trying to navigate the app I just After 20 minutes of trying to navigate the app I simply uninstalled it.

Wouldn't let me even search for parts without creating an account, and or signing in. The app itself is not user friendly either. I expected better from Advance.

Based upon the lack of a public app and the responses from Advance employees, I guess I'll just buy my parts elsewhere. It's probably only about $10k a year they're losing, so no big deal. I'll try O'Reilly, or Napa, or AutoZone. They have the common sense to make an app everyone can use, not just their arrogant employees.

Same as everyone else. App is useless, no login. I would assume customer service would address at least one customer complaint. Nope, they just don't care.

Cant login on the app so i cant even use it. Password works fine on the website. They want you to call customer service to fix it. No thanks.
